We were celebrating our 40th anniversary The staff started our meal with complimentary glass of prosecco. For dinner my wife had the pasta and it was very good. She could tell it was fresh made. I had the sea bass which was also very good. The staff then surprised us with a complimentary dessert and a congratulatory card from the staff. We were amazed at their kindness and excitement service.

Really striking interior and the service was excellent--the food was very mixed. We were a party of 4, so we got to try many dishes and drinks: the salumi appetizer was good except for the Planters mixed nuts that came with (do better for $21). The fonduta, however, was nicely balanced, and worth getting again. The smoked duck antipasto was a waste of a good bird--all you taste is smoke. The black pepper is too much, but the spicy sweet sauce manages to overpower it. BUT The orecchiette was a triumph! Really simple, incredibly delicious, and by far one of the best applications for broccolini I've ever seen. But then the four-cheese ravioli was nearly inedible. Four unfindable ravioli are buried deep under a thick, bland cheese soup, and heavily garnished with a sickly sweet balsamic glaze that makes the mess taste look and taste like they combined melted ice cream and a grainy béchamel. Finally, you'd think you could escape with a simple fillet, but no, it's rubbed with so much spice that the meat is lost and you end up eating rub for dinner. The drinks were likewise hit-and-miss. We had to ask the server about mocktails since they don't appear on the menu. Turns out it was worth asking--they are quite innovative, so you'll either adore them or pass them to someone else at the table who does.

We arrived at restaurant and they didn’t have a table so we waited 15 min to have them clean a high top and then all we were given were menus no water or no greet from the service staff who several passed us and did not say anything to us actually seemed to be looking away from us - no “someone will be right with you” after 15 more Minutes we got up and left and went to Capitol Grille and we’re immediately seated and taken care of. This place was poorly run on a Friday at 8:30

The food was excellent, the ambience was good except that we attended when they had a private event, which was quite loud in their applause and cheering. I’m sure it would be quieter on a normal evening. This also led to a haphazard service experience, with one server striving mightily to cover all of the diners upstairs and an unpredictable kitchen. The manager came by to apologize for the wait on our dessert comped it. In the end they had to make the hole apple crostini from scratch: it was absolutely delicious. We will return when they aren’t hosting a big event.

This was my second time to The Albert, with Steve as my waiter. He is fantastic and goes Above & Beyond to create a memorable experience! The polenta board is not to be missed and the olive oil and carrot cake desserts are both dynamite! We had a group of 8 and every plate was clean! The decor, vibe and service are excellent! I will definitely be back!
