We were looking forward to our Thanksgiving dinner at the Aries after many past holidays dining there. Our family does not like traditional Thanksgiving dinner and the Aries usually has a great selection of alternatives. 2023 was a big disappointment with about half the options of past years but all the cost of previous years. Most of the menu was traditional Thanksgiving dinner dishes that weren't done that well. We could have spent half the money and dined elsewhere. Definitely not worth it!

Not as good as past years. A lot less food options. And no rolls! Very disappointing for the cost of the meal.

This was one of the worst meals I’ve had in a long time. It’s hard to both under-cook and overcook something, but they managed to do so. Perhaps it was because it was their first day opening for the season or perhaps it was because it was a holiday, but this meal was overpriced and underwhelming.

This was our 3rd time attending the arie for thanksgiving. Our service was good but we were all disappointed in the food compared to our past experience. My second cut of turkey wasn’t cooked through. I gues our biggest disappointment was the lack of a traditional thanksgiving dinner…potato, gravy, bread and such. There weren’t as many choices of food either. What we did have was ok but not for what we thought we were paying for. Unfortunately in two years we will find another venue for thanksgiving.

The views were incredible but the food was just okay and the service was not good. For around $100 a person, we were expecting more. The service wasn't awful but they were very slow and they shouldn't have been, as the restaurant wasn't close to busy. We had to flag down other staff multiple times because our server was not attentive. They have a beautiful location and a good menu, but unfortunately, it was poorly executed.

The desert cheese cake needs some work, it contained three hard cheeses. It wouldn't take much to elevate this to something of the entree caliber.

The lily oscar was really good and the entrees were lovely. Service was a bit slow considering how empty it was. Got seated right next to a large and loud group that took most the waiter's attention. The Aire had the best options for dietary restrictions, which is why we chose it.

Eating at The Aerie was a disheartening experience. The restaurant itself was gorgeous, but sitting down to a sticky table was the first of many signs that the Aerie, like The 71, is more interested in making things look good than making things that actually ARE good. It seems the staff are aware the food is bad, as we were dissuaded from several menu options by our server, including the only vegetarian entrée. I really appreciate the candor, but it was clear menu planning and execution are not indicative of a fine dining experience. I want to be very, very clear, our server was excellent, the issue is in the kitchen. We ordered the fondue, which arrived cold, and the small tealight under the dish wasn't powerful enough to warm it. As we had been advised against most entrées, we decided to make a meal of appetizers. We had the lobster tail cocktail, which was quite rubbery and served with a tarar sauce that tasted like a citrus candle, and the Lily Oscar Lump Crab that was more than a little reminiscent of canned tuna. The highlight of the meal was the poached asparagus UNDER the crab. As locals, the quality of the food in the Cliff Lodge wholly surprised us. Salt Lake and Park City have been establishing themselves as foodie towns for years, and there are so many talented chefs and restaurant staff in the area. We spent over $200 on very disappointing food at the Aerie, and for the same amount (or less!) we could have had a spectacular meal in the city or surrounding areas (Pago, Table X, Cafe Molissé). I mentioned this in my review of The 71 (also at the Cliff Lodge) but it bears repeating; I don't mind paying a premium for high quality food, but The Aerie doesn't even hit mid quality. I don't think you could pay ME to eat there again. What you're paying for essentially is convenience. We really do love the resort, and it's such a shame they totally bungled the food. Next time we stay, we will probably book a room with a kitchen and make our own meals.

Appalling failure to deliver. We ordered a starter fondue to share, bottle of wine, entrees with 2 sides. Pretty standard for fine dining. Instead the entree were delivered pre starter. No bottle of wine snd no sides. When we asked where is the starter and wine we were given the option of food been thrown out and starterOR would we be willing to have entree now. To help them out we said forgot about starter please serve entree with wine and side dishes. INSTEAD wine and sides never arrived and starter was delivered after we were 2/3 through eating entree. Multiple staff told yes were going to fix wine and sides but never did. Instead delivered Starter AGAIN. We insisted talking to manager who also did not deliver. His only solution was to not charge us for entrees ( note staff took so long trying to work out what to do the entrees were served semi cold) . It was appalling service and response. Never again. Do not recommend.

The wait staff all had a nervious/inexperienced energy. Our drink order was forgot. Our fondue candle went out shortly after presentation to our table and the staff did not check on us so that we could inform them until our main course arrived. The food was just okay. For the price I expected much better food and service, we were fairly disappointed.

We went as a group of six on a Monday afternoon, and pretty much had the place to ourselves. It’s a beautiful restaurant with amazing views. The waiter was clearly very inexperienced, so the service was a bit confused and slow, with little menu knowledge, though he was very nice and accommodating. We ordered four apps—the fondue (good, though not a lot of flavor in the cheese dip); grilled lobster tail (good, slightly over cooked/tough); lily Oscar (best dish of the evening, absolutely delicious!); and the Bosc pear salad (good). For entrees, we ordered two Tuscan white bean soups, which was inedible…tried it, and it was gross…it went uneaten; two of the aged KC strips @$72/each…both ordered medium, both over cooked, tough, and generally poorly cooked…extremely disappointing; other guests ordered the ceasar salad, which was an uncut half head of lettuce with some anchovies laid across it. Sides were mushrooms and fingerling potatoes, both meh. For dessert, we had the salted caramel sundae (Sonic does it better for less…), and the pistachio mousse bomb, which was extremely creative and tasty, everyone enjoyed it a lot. Meal with tip was about $600. If we go back, we are sticking with salads, crab appetizer, and the mousse (though we probably just won’t be back).

The food was lacking flavor and value. The fondue appetizer was less than desirable with cold-cooked potato bites, pickles, artichokes pieces from a can, bread, and apples into lukewarm cheese heated by a tealight. The Lamb's texture was overcooked, and the flavor of the entire dish was very gamey, over-smoked dish right down to the noodles and sauce. This was more along the description of lamb stroganoff. Mary's Chicken was so dry it was hard to consume without large amounts of water. The lemon served with the water smelled and tasted of fish- making the water unconsumable. Our service was impeccable, you need a new chef to match the ambiance and setting you are going for.

Very nice location on the 10th floor with huge windows to view the wasatch mountains. It was not crowded on a Tuesday evening and the staff was friendly and helpful. It was more expensive than other restaurants we are used to, but we planned on it and enjoyed it without any guilt. The entree selections were limited but were very good.

I'm not sure how they can say "The Aerie is for those who love the art of fine dining" because it is anything but fine dining! My husband and I decided to have a quick staycation at The Cliff Lodge and spend a day getting a massage, enjoying the spa amenities, hanging out by the pool, and then finishing the day with a nice meal at the resort. So we made a reservation at The Aerie. The service wasn't great. We were sat for 15 minutes, before we were greeted by the server's assistant asking about our water preference. After that, the service was just sub-par. We were one of 5 tables in the restaurant at the time. We started with two apps. First, the "Lily Oscar" (lump crab and poached asparagus - $32). The asparagus was great (and probably the highlight of the entire meal)! The lump crab tasted like tuna salad - there was way too much mayo and there wasn't much for "lump" either since it was all mushed together. Second, was the ceasar salad ($17). For the sliver of romaine I got, it was extremely overpriced. Also, I understand that some people don't like anchovies (then don't get a ceasar salad?), but to serve two pieces of anchovy in a separate dish on the plate, just seemed odd. The dressing was just ok. I ordered the "Roasted Scottish Salmon" ($48). The béarnaise sauce seemed like it was poured out of the Reese Bearnaise Sauce jar without even being warmed up at all. The sweet peas weren't what I expected, since they looked more like a snow pea to me. My husband ordered the "Duck Confit" ($45). It was super crispy and extremely dry overall (odd for a confit, right?). The slaw tasted ok, but was not visually appealing/appetizing. I ordered the "Rosemary Gimlet" ($13.50). It was decent, but was too heavy on the lime juice so the only rosemary you got in the cocktial was the sprig garnish. It is extremely difficult to find a good cocktail in Utah - and it's not here. Fine dining? No. Would I go back? No.

Some of the food was ok, but much was remarkably bad. How do you ruin trout? Or pappardelle? Duck confit was just ok and they forgot about the salad. We had to send back one bottle of wine. And should've sent back the next, but were simply worn down by that time. And though the place was deserted, the staff was only sporadically attentive.

A direct service fee of %20 was applied to our final bill (also taxed!) instead of us being able to decide the tip. We were a small table of 4. This was a buffet and our server never explained what drinks were included in the buffet price of $80 per person. He knew he was getting a 20% tip so why bother offering orange juice or clean up the plates? We are locals, love skiing in snowbird and eating at the Aerie but this attitude only will deter people to go back!

The Mother's Day Buffet was wonderful. BUT I was disappointed, that there was NO mention beforehand of the hefty service charge they tagged on to the bill for 2 people!! Normally there is only a service charge if there are 6 or more people. It should have been mentioned at the time of making the reservation. This makes the price per person more than $85 rather than the advertised $70. Not really fair to the diner to hit him with this charge at the time when he is ready to pay!! So the rating is not perfect! Ingeborg Lee
