The pecan crusted salmon with rice was outstanding.
Wanted to try someplace we haven’t been before. Had a great experience the staff was quite friendly and food was good. Most likely will be back again. I wish I discovered it earlier in the year so we could have sat outside!
We enjoyed being in the glass room overlooking the golf course. Our server was very good, attentive and pleasant although we could tell she was in some pain from a limp. It did not stop her from doing her best. The food was very good - fish tacos were excellent and the short rib main course terrific. Our party of 3 also enjoyed the chicken quesadilla as an appetizer and we all shared the salad. For portions were very generous and we took some home and no room for dessert.
Service was great and food was better! Best burger I have ever had !
Excellent food and amazing views!
Staff is excellent. They try to meet special needs of customers. My husband and I enjoyed our lunch and will go back. They do need to add a cappuccino option - especially for the next 1/2 year - winter!
Very nice restaurant with outside seating. The food was great and the staff was very attentive. Next time I will get there early so I can see the property in daylight.
They don’t do fancy but they do basic “American” extremely well. We have there twice and nothing disappointed. Set the right expectation and you will not be disappointed and the view to the golf course is an added bonus.
Great Location - beautiful views- Not prepared for happy hour which should be in all rooms not just bar and patio. Should have happy hour app specials. Should have early bird specials Barmaid-waitress not prepared to explain items on menu Visited on a Thursday. Need more outreach to Heritage Village residents such as specials. An open house would be nice. Lacks marketing experience
This was a very disappointing experience. We received one Happy Hour menu for four people. We had to ask for three more. Then, my friend ordered a martini with bleu cheese olives, and she got olives with pimentos. Now as I tell this story, consider the wait time trying to get the server to come back to fix the orders. Then we ordered sweet chili and barbeque ribs. They came but without the carrots and celery. So we asked for them. The server brought two celery strips and one carrot for four people/two orders. So we asked for those. Then we decided to have another round of wings, same flavor. This time instead of our order, we got Buffalo wings, which no one wanted, as well as our barbeque. So we sent those back. The chips with the salsa were stale, but not bad enough to send back. Also, one of their best appetizers, calamari, cannot be ordered any more because of a calamari shortage. (?????). After all of this, I requested that we be given a 10% discount for all the inconvenience and mistakes. It was a no-go. Manager did not approve. It wan't the server's fault, but he didn't catch any of the mistakes. I will not be going to 1850 again. This was my fourth visit to 1850 and the worst ever. So sad. It is such a pretty setting.
We found the outdoor space lovely and we went on Sunday at noon - first to arrive and we were expecting Brunch but the Lunch/Dinner menu was fine and we enjoyed the food very much - large portions. Hostess was very polite and friendly and the waiter (Ryan) was attentive and friendly. We know that restaurants are struggling with staff so we were happy that they were all very nice and seemed to enjoy their work.
The surroundings are very nice to look at and we will definitely go again and often.
We are looking forward to an actual Brunch menu.
A brunch menu is something that we are still working on. We are focusing our efforts currently on getting fully staffed before expanding to different menus. Please check our Facebook and Instagram pages for updates!
The food was good, but the service was inconsistent. Our drink order was never placed, yet appeared on our bill.
They were not prepared for the amount of people and therefore service and food were lacking. It is unfortunate and an unpredictable business and hopefully they can adjust because generally we have enjoyed our meals here.
it was very good service. the food was average. it is a lovely setting.
Nice to sit on the terrace, food very good for the price!
space needs updating
Great new restaurant, with excellent views of a golf course. Great food and service.
THis restaurant recently opened and each week there are improvements. Service is very good, the food is excellent and artistically presented. There are improvements needed in ambiance but that will come once fully staffed.
First time I’ve dined here since the new ownership and the food was excellent and the service too. The patio itself has a great view but could definitely use some attention. The concrete floor needs resurfacing, furniture is utilitarian and the decor needs plantings or plants to create a more attractive space. But food and service were top notch. Will dine there again.
New owner at long-established eatery in Southbury. Outside seating overlooking the golf course, gentle breeze moving through the patio under the awning. Genial and well-trained waiter, generous portions. Menu similar to comparable establishment in neighboring town, but less expensive.
Overlook a beautiful gift course. Great food and have plenty of outdoor seating. Just found my new favorite hangout. Cant wait to go back this summer and fall.
