We booked The Savoy for two people for Afternoon Tea for two. It delivered in every way. I had pre ordered plain sandwiches as one of us doesn't like mayonnaise or chutneys etc. The staff were aware of this and asked about this straightaway, it didn't feel like it was a bother at all. Staff were welcoming and chatty. Food was delicious, we were offered unlimited sandwiches and did ask for another portion they were so lovely. There was more than enough food. We upgraded to Champagne, it was £30 extra per glass, pricey but you are paying g for the whole experience. The surroundings are fabulous but you don't feel overwhelmed or out of place. I would definitely recommend

We visited for my mum's 76th Birthday, the Savoy is world renowned for its high end afternoon tea and this was a once in a lifetime experience. However i can't say it met my expectations, the room is beautiful and the first member off staff was lovely, and explained the menus. However it went down hill with multiple errors following, the sandwiches and cakes were ok, nothing special in comparison to other venues we have visited. I was expecting to be blown away, as this is supposed to be the creme de le creme venue in London? The next waitress who served us brought us the wrong tea order over and instead of rectifying the order she asked us to keep it? We felt obliged to do so as if the staff would be disciplined for the error, she the proceeded to fill the cups with tea from one pot and advised us to just try it? Then following this the next waitress come over and refilled the partially empty tea cups with the tea from the other pot, i tried to stop her saying that is the incorrect pot but she wasn't listening. I explained we did not have that tea in the cup and she apologized and again didn't offer to go and get a clean cup, so we had to drink tea with a mix of two different teas in? Never in my life have i ever been to any hotel or restaurant with such poor service or customer care? This was then followed by a £500 bill, i explained i have only had 2 afternoon tea's how is the bill so high!!! The staff looked at me saying yes, like she didn't understand, i said its not £500 on the menus, she looked shocked and went away then come back and said sorry i had been billed for the table next to me!! Honestly am so shocked and surprised, what was supposed to be an amazing outstanding experience was an absolute disaster, i wouldn't recommend and i wouldn't return and i was charged an additionally £40+ service charge for the shocking service i received!

Beautiful decor and architecture but there is no way this posed value for money. Four sandwiches, two tiny scones and mousse based desserts with a glass of non alcoholic wine, just not worth £250 for two people for an hour and a half. Other places have a larger variety of sandwiches and offer extra (we were not asked once if we wanted anything else), also have cakes on trolleys etc. It just wasn’t good enough I’m afraid. Also the staff were just ok, kind of behaved as though they were doing us a favour. Sandwiches were sloppy eg the centre/pulp of the cucumbers were included so the bread was soggy. The other sandwiches were dry/ didn’t have enough mayonnaise etc. Again, fine but not for £90. Wouldn’t come back for tea but would return for drinks and nibbles etc due to the ambience. Also some members of staff are extremely courteous and others simply don’t want to be there and it spoils it.

Afternoon tea at the Savoy is absolutely amazing. We had a drink in the iconic American bar first to take the atmosphere and the history of the place. The gallery is an amazing place to eat

Lovely experience all round, although can be a struggle to chat if you are too near the piano.

My NZ cousin who is in Palliative care for stage four lung and breast cancer has a bucketlist to fulfil. She came especially to London yesterday just to enjoy afternoon tea at the Savoy. I quietly informed the staff at reception of her condition and they went above and beyond to make her experience overwhelming and unforgettable. She was presented with flowers and a basket full of goodies to take on her travel ( She is now in Rome). We were all brought to tears by the amazing experience. Thankyou
