Texas Mesquite Grill (Cypress)
KUDDOS TO OUR SERVER REGAN.
FIRST TIME ON THE FLOOR AS A SERVER
TABLE OF 10. SHE DIDNT MISS A BEAT
HER PERSONALITY IS ADORABLE.
The service was so bad we left after we finished our drink and went to Mo’s to eat lunch.
Slow service. Manager took bill and took 40% off total to make up for service. Food was awesome. This was 3rd time there and the only time we did not enjoy ourselves. Will go again.
the hoists seated us right away. Every thing was very good. I will go back.
Great food and service! We always have good food and enjoy having our group events at Mesquite Grill. Very friendly staff and the restaurant is always clean and inviting. Great staff!
The food was great, but the service was poor. The hostess did not want to honor my reservation. I had a reservation for 7:30 PM. I arrived around 7:37. He told me he didn't see anything and I would have to wait 20 minutes. We ask to see the manager. I showed him my reservation and he sat us me right away. My server was not good. She never refilled our water and she brought the salads with the meal. By the time I ate my salad my food was cold.
Ran out of ribs at 7:15 . We had brought people from out of town to try the ribs. If we come back hopefully you will be in stock.
I would not recommend this place. This was my 3rd trip. First trip was a year ago. Food was cold. Waitress had too many tables. 2nd trip decided to see about lunch on a Sunday and crawfish two weeks ago. Waitress was rude. Leftover make up from night before. Acting like she was still on a high from night before and the gumbo was gross. Crawfish had great taste though. This trip was my 3rd. Decided since crawfish was good we would try family outing and hoping 3rd time was a charm. NOPE. Crawfish was the only thing decent. The appetizers all came out at different times, (which were for different ppl), and two of them were cold. One being queso. NO ONE wants cold queso. Then my husbands beer was warm. Instead of letting him know they had just opened a new box and asking if he wanted a different kind, they serve it warm. Then, the fries were cold and soggy. NOT a good experience.
This was our first visit and we thoroughly enjoyed the food and the service! We will be back and will definitely bring the rest of the family! Keep up the good work!
The food was very good and the waitress was very friendly. Only negative point was that the entree came already when I was still eating my starter! Unnecessary stress
Always receive great food, drinks and service! 👍🏼
Good food and service. Definitely will visit again.
The food is always great there. I love the grilled chicken. The brownie is large, definitely shareable, and not too sweet. I like it because it more cake like.
Food was good. Appetizers were great. I highly recommend the grilled pork chop with the bacon jam. Potatoes were lumpy and they need to work on their green beans.
Waiter was terrible. He was pesty and was giving you a minute by minute play of what was going on in the kitchen, who quit, issues they were having because someone quit, and he was always just about to put our order in. Way too much information about himself. Don't mind a little chit chat but I thought he was going to pull up a chair.
I had the grilled chicken salad. It was very tasty. The grilled chicken was seasoned well and the grilling was perfect. The salad itself is huge.
The grilled chicken is to die for. I love chicken tortilla soup. It is a meal by itself.
We tried to follow the directions that were attached in the open table link and it directed us to a cemetery road. The directions made us late for our reservations, but had no problem getting seated upon arriving at the restaurant. After we were seated we waited for apx. 10 minutes before moving to the bar because no waiter approached the table and the next table over had a screaming baby. Another long wait before anyone approached and asked if we wanted any drinks. We sat close to the kitchen and were amazed at how disorganized they were in the kitchen - flames going up periodically that had to be tamed. One waitress was constantly at the window returning orders that were not correct. I liked the chicken fried steak, but it is by no means a Texas sized portion that I've become accustomed to getting. My husbands pork chop was charred on the outside and too rare on the inside - he had to send it back to be cooked some more. Overall not a good night to try this restaurant - we should have gone across the street to the Irish pub.
Oyster nachos and quail bites were tasty. All 3 ribeyes were cooked rare versus medium rare. Salad took 15 more minutes to come out after the other 3 main entrees were already served. Service was adequate and friendly.
Service was very slow. the Quail appetizer was one of the best
We were dining with a large group - 16 people. Austin worked with me while making the reservations and was very flexible waiting for a final number. Jenna was our waitress and she did a perfect job. Everyone got the right food, our drinks were kept filled, she was prompt when asked for more sauces, and even got the billing by couples perfectly done. This is exceptional service!! The food was great and being seated in the back room let our group be loud and have fun together. This is a perfect place for a large group of friends to gather and hang out. The wide variety of excellent food gave everyone just what they wanted, salads, chicken fried steak, seafood, tacos -- a little bit of everything!
Lunch was great. I had soup and salad. The salad was large with a great variety of vegetables. The soup was in a large bowl. It too was filled with vegetables and chicken. It was a meal by itself.
Very pleased with service, food and casual setting. It had a steady crowd and all went well.
Service was great, food was good, ambiance was noisy.
Waiter made the difference - we were visiting & iPhone was low on battery. Needed it charged as we were using the phone as our GPS. After multiple requests in the restaurant (everyone had a Samsung) he offer to go to his car & let us use his (even offered for us to keep it since we were traveling). Not really a big deal in the big picture, but this took a huge weight off of my shoulders of rushing through dinner so I could get home before the phone died. Customer service still reigns supreme.
We made reservations for 20th anniversary for seven. We were seated immediately, we ordered 10 minutes after we sat next table sat they ordered and ate and were paying before our food arrived. Waitress said kitchen was slow, maybe only our table? This was ok as I got quiet time with my wife. What was bad is food we’d horrible, charro beans were cold, fajitas were tough and I had to use knife to pry from platter. We left without incident as we didn’t want trouble on our special day, but we will never be back.
Wouldn’t recommend this to an enemy. Food was absolutely disgusting and our server was too busy flirting with the hostess (who was eating!) to take care of his tables.
This was our second visit to Texas Mesquite Grill. The place is nice but there were a few issues. My wife found two strands of hair in her plate and the server was not very personable, but the portions were generous and flavor overall were good. Noise level was elevated but the Astros and game 7 will do that.
Food was mediocre. Server was very nice but not very polished. Very few wine options.
We don't live too close to this restaurant, so it was kind of a bigger deal/date night for my fiancé and I. The address listed on Open Table is incorrect so we drove 15 min in the wrong direction which made us late for the reservation we did not need. The restaurant was pretty dead. Very few staff as well. We were greeted a minute or so after walking in and were seated next to the front door. I suppose we were over dressed? Or just didn't get the Tank top and flip-flops memo. I'm not opposed to that attire, just not what I had expected.
The menu looked awesome. We should know, we had them in front of us for 15 minutes without seeing any wait staff. I looked around multiple times for someone to place a drink and appetizer order with. I don't think I even saw a waiter/waitress so, we gave up and left. I don't plan on wasting the gas or time again, just to go unnoticed by people I'm trying to do business with.
We had a very good dinner with our family. Good service and food.
They have the second best selection of beers in the area.
We had to double our party from 6 to 12 and the staff was very accommodating. Great Mother's Day lunch!
I didn't care for this restaurant. It was very slow service and the food was cold and greasy.
Possibly the most bland seafood gumbo I've ever eaten. Fried shrimp was excellent. My wife's crawfish were over-cooked (shells hard to crack) and way over-spiced to an extreme level.
We won't go back for seafood. Too many other excellent seafood alternatives within driving distance.
Steak fajitas were fantastic. Ribs fell off the bone..great food!!
I have dined here once before and it was good. Unfortunately , this time was the complete opposite. The server was not attentive, the food was not edible. When the issues were brought to the manager's attention, she seemed to care less. I will not be returning.
The food we had was as advertised but much better than expected. Bacon wrapped shrimp looked a bit overdone, but turned out to be just right. My NY Strip (chef prepared it even though they offer only as a Thursday special) was scrumptious. Asparagus perfect, drinks well-poured, and the Texas Caviar! When I first got there, it seemed a little underwhelming as far as presentation of the building and restaurant. Appeared kind of empty from the outside, and more like a rapid-serve place, but then instantly it was filled and though full, it didn't feel full because of the architectural design. With a couple drinks, the bill was $37 per head. Service was fantastic and fun. Our last thought was about loosening the belt a notch, and planning to come back to this great place soon! What a great find!
Food was very tasty and served at the right temperature. Service was a bit slow and inattentive at times. For example, I asked for a drink from the bar with my meal. It finally arrived when I had only a few bites left, and the waiter did not seemed concerned with this gaffe. But overall, the portion sizes and variety on the menu will have us back for sure.
Fried shrimp was very tasty.
