**Our menu currently features a six course Chef's menu only.**

Our six course Chef's menu at Tersiguel's is a combination of authentic French-style cooking and rustic country fare reminiscent of cuisine found in Tersiguel's original home of Brittany, France. Tersiguel's cuisine is reflective of the seasons, with a garden that produces lettuces, herbs, vegetables, fruits and edible flowers. When the garden is not producing Chef Michel Tersiguel will personally go and hand pick all fruit and vegetables at the whole sale market in Jessup, Maryland. Tersiguel's is quintessential French Country "from the farm to your plate" cooking. Chef Tersiguel describes his food as "French soul food". The Tersiguel family has operated one of the regions best restaurants for over 45 years and continues this tradition with annual ratings of "Best French Restaurant" from the Zagat and Baltimore Magazine.

Going to start this off by saying we've never had a less than outstanding meal at Tersiguel's. This meal was no different, and frankly might be one of the best we've ever had there. Chef Michel Tersiguel has featured an ever-rotating weekly pre fixe menu of dishes based on a theme.

Since reopening, the kitchen has been a solo-operation for him with a limited number of guests in two seatings per evening. But if you didn't know there wasn't the traditional army of cooks in the kitchen- you would never. He is that good.

This week's pre fixe menu was a throwback to the old days, the classic French dishes that Fernand Tersiguel and his family built the reputation of the restaurant bearing their name.

Every plate was right on the money. Chef executed each course with the type of attention to detail that only years of experience can provide.

Our first course was a traditional inspired assorted hot appetizers: mussels with shiitakes, coquilles St. Jaques in cream, shrimp Provencale, crispy calamari, escargot, and a special treat: braised sweetbreads.

Second course was a traditional Ceasar salad done with a vinagrette instead of a heavier mayo-style dressing. Light, refreshing, and tangy, it was the perfect transition to the main course.

About that main course... a perfectly cooked medium rare Irish beef filet au poivre in a light brandy peppercorn cream sauce accompanied by haricots and fried potatoes.

Their signature chocolate mousse with a hint of Gran Marnier closed out the meal.

We left full and happy to say the least.

About the service--

Charlie runs the dining room like a well-oiled machine, the consummate professional. Quick with a joke and hilarious with his signature style, he operates with precision and wit the way every professional server wants to and ought to be. The wine and drink pairings he chose were solid and on point, making the food and service superlative.

We cannot wait to go back.

Four of us had a wonderful New Year's Eve dinner at Tersiguel's. The six course meal and wines that were recommended were all outstanding. The service was impeccable and personal. Tersiguel's is limiting the number of dinners to such a small number per seating that there are no worries about spacing between tables or noise. We almost felt like we were the only ones in the restaurant and personal guests of Michel Tersiguel. I highly recommend the experience.

The tasting menu was delicious and beautiful. Drinks were great as was the service. Very intimate environment with a very passionate staff. Would recommend for a special occasion and one that you are prepared to spend a few hours there

So fun and delicious! They had a prix fixe menu at the time. Everyone left stuffed. I couldn’t finish everything even though I wanted to. Totally worth coming here for a special occasion.

The six of us basically had a tiny room to ourselves and never heard the people in the other room.

Service was exquisite. Before I could finish thinking “Hm, I wish I had more water” or “Hm, I wish I had some bread to sop this sauce with”, it would appear before me. The space was a bit tight, but the staff made it work and I barely noticed.

It's very nice to see the restaurant open again. Mostly the same staff, with a chef's menu. The wine pairings were particularly nice.

Tersiguel’s is unbeatable. We loved it pre-pandemic (and look forward to that returning), pivoted to the best take-out on the planet (the chicken thighs were hands-down the best chicken I’ve ever eaten), and now they knock a chef’s menu out of the park. Imagine getting an imaginative salad, comforting soup and what amounts to a “best of” series of gourmet fish, poultry, and beef dishes followed by a dessert that still has me wondering how they pulled it off. (I don’t know how you can cook berries, sour cream and sugar and end up with the best ending ever to a meal.). And they even accommodated my wife’s several allergies with modifications that were every bit as interesting and tasty as what was provided to other folks.) If you don’t take advantage of this opportunity for a chance to sample the chef’s greatest hits, you’ll be sorry.

This was our first experience at Tersiguel's and it will not be our last. It was unique in that the Chef determined the menu from start to finish. We loved that this not only removed the pressure from choosing from equally delicious dishes but more importantly, each dish on the Chef's Menu stood on its own as a memorable, flavorful, and perfectly balanced dish. We would be hard pressed to find a better French meal in the MD/DC area. Highly recommend!!

The service was spectacular. The waiter was able to answer any questions and showed an all encompassing knowledge of the menu. The waiter also was able to describe the dishes which made us excited for the each course.

The food was spectacular and offered some seasonal and returning favorites. One standout was the Venison loin which had a spiced sauce that included flavors such as cinnamon and cumin which was a great autumn touch and balanced with the venison perfectly. Another mention goes to the olive oil cake which was a perfect light dessert. Each bite bloomed in your mouth and offered so many different flavors in multiple stages each bite.

Not sure I consider this a downside but the portion sizes were almost a little too large for a four course meal. I found myself feeling quite stuffed at the end but each bite was so good I couldn’t possibly let any go to waste! Very good value for the price however.

I would certainly recommend Tersiguels and we will definitely be back.

We are so glad that Tersiguel's is back! We had dinner there last night and it was wonderful. The service was attentive, my wife was offered three tastes of wine before settling on an aperitif instead. The menu was new with a fixed price format with four courses. The food was innovative and tasty. All in all, a wonderful dining experience!

So sorry to see the decline in what used to be one of our favorite restaurants. The prix fixe menu forced us to order food we did not want and significantly increased the cost of what was already an expensive restaurant. The quality of the food was not up to their previous standards. The beef that two of us ordered was inedible- terribly chewy and over done. We will not be going back. Given the damage that Old Ellicott City has experienced over the last few years, this self-inflicted injury is truly sad.

This was our second visit to Tersiguels since the reopening in September. The 4 course prix fixe menu is excellent and great value. Five choices in each course gives great scope to sample the chef's skills and we were not disappointed with any of our selections. Particularly good were the escargot, sweet potato soup, duck and apricot souflee. Service, as always, was professional, knowledgeable and friendly. We are very happy that Tersiguels has reopened and highly recommend it.

The two first courses were absolutely outstanding; I had never had a savory cheesecake before, and the Mushroom Napoleon was a delight. The waitress mixed up my main course, but quickly rectified the issue and gave me a glass of wine on the house while I waited.

We always loved to dine at this restaurant.
Very disapointed with the food.
Highlight was the fish soup.
Dover sole was served with still frozen in the middle
Beef was terrible.
I know they are struggling but for the price!!!
The food needs to improve or they will not be able to survive.

Tersigual is back! Excellent food, good wine, EXCELLENT service, the same lovely ambiance as always. The Chef visited the dining room three times to see how things were going. They have a price fix menu only now, but with many choices and I did not feel limited at all. A good wine list, not too fancy (or cheap) but excellent choices available including White Burgundy, a rare find in the area. It's pricey, but still a good value for money. Tersigual is a great place to go for a celebration of any kind - marriage, divorce, engagement, any holiday or just for the hell of it. Do make reservations and do go for a lovely evening.
