The Tersiguel family have been serving their unique version of French food for over 40 years. The menu at Tersiguel's is a combination of authentic French-style cooking and rustic country fare reminiscent of cuisine found in Tersiguel's original home of Brittany, France. Tersiguel's Cuisine is reflective of the seasons, with a garden that produces lettuces, herbs, vegetables, fruits and edible flowers. When the Garden is not producing Chef Michel Tersiguel will personally go and hand pick all fruit and vegetables at the whole sale market in Jessup, Maryland. Tersiguel's is quintessential French Country "from the farm to your plate" cooking. Chef Tersiguel describes his food as "French soul food". The Tersiguel family has operated one of the regions best restaurants for over 40 years and continues this tradition with annual ratings of "Best French Restaurant" from the Zagat and Baltimore Magazine.

The wine list is pricy as well as the menu. For just two of us we hit $200 quickly. The food was excellent - taste and presentation - and the service was wonderful. I started with the fish soup. It was very tasty. The presentation was in a large bowl and the soup was poured at the table. Great - except that the soup was then spread over a large area to a thin depth in a cold bowl. That combination made the soup cool very quickly. For the main course, I got the lamb. The initial shock was getting eight pieces of lamb that were each a little larger than a quarter in size. They were melt-in-your-mouth yummy and served on a bed of equally tasty garlic sauce. I had room for dessert. The crème caramel was some of the best I had ever tasted - very creamy - very good. I was comfortable when I left, but hungry by the time I got home. I guess that was better than feeling too stuffed.

Wonderful dining experience. We celebrated my birthday with a lovely romantic dinner for two. The food was amazing and the service was exceptional. The cocktail drink menu is delicious. Yu must try the pear martini. I had the beet salad and it was heavenly. We don't dine here often but always have a wonderful time when we do. This is a real Ellicott City gem.

We really enjoyed our return here after a long hiatus since it is quite a distance for us. We were greeted warmly on a cold night and had excellent service throughout from our main waitress and a waiter who assisted. Highlights were a special soup (creamy fennel, potato, and cress poured over roasted radicchio with a long crouton), a light and savory beet salad, a country-style pate, the lemon curd and blackberry dessert, and an excellent vanilla creme brulee. There is something for every taste on the menu and we appreciated having a nice crusty baguette to nibble throughout the meal. The wine list has a nice selection and by-the-glass offerings are plenty varied and quite good. The dining room is on the small side, but feels larger because of its high ceiling and long windows with floor-length drapes. Overall it was quiet, but being small, you could not help but hear what people were saying at other tables from time to time.

We celebrated New Years Eve with friends at Tersiguel's. The food was fabulous as always. The 5 course prefixe menu was a great value at $80.00. Though the service was attentive and proficient, it was a bit rushed (it was our NYE celebration after all and was meant to be enjoyed over time). We would definitely recommend it to friends.

We have had incredible experiences at Tersiguel’s along with regrettable experiences. When my out-of-town father asked where he could take our family for a New Years Eve celebration I suggested Tersiguel’s. I was never told it would be a prix fixe menu (keeping options limited for kitchen staff but guaranteeing a certain revenue for the restaurant). The service was slow to our third floor location and often arrived to the table over-talking the current conversation. Essentially the service and food did not match our expectations. We will return for a quiet Sunday afternoon when we can order from the full menu but we will avoid holidays in the future.
