About this restaurant

Terroni Adelaide, formerly the York County Courthouse, is a multi-level heritage structure built in 1852. Just inside the doors is the Enoteca with its towering columns, a great spot for cocktails. Beyond is the main dining room, with a sunlit atrium, fireplaces on each end and private rooms all serviced by an open kitchen where our chefs prepare traditional Italian fare. In summer, the secret garden patio opens for al fresco dining in the heart of the city.

Head down to the Cantina Wine Cellar where you will see the original courthouse cells now used to store our Italian wine. The second floor houses the grand Sala da Pranzo and Bar delle Carceri, named after the cells below. Il Covo degli Artisti, our third-floor space is a cosy lounge once home to The Arts and Letters Club where Canadian landscape painters “The Group of Seven” ate and drank in 1909.

    we were on the patio and it was lovely, nice ambience and not too noisy so we could actually talk. we had the best waitress and the food was delicious!

    Very disappointed. I've been here so many times and I have never dealt with such awful staff. The waitress pretty much only took our orders and helped us make choices, but she didnt bring out our food. When it came time to pay, all 8 of us were tipping her. Each time one of us went to pay, she would first view the tip, then cancel it, laugh, and tell us to do it again. Absolutely ridiculous service. That is deserving of ZERO tip. Even worse, I came for my birthday, which was known to the staff and waiters, and did not receive any birthday service, despite seeing multiple tables with birthday service. Will not be going back. Very displeased. Such a shame because I did really like this restaurant.

    Great food, great service, a little too loud. Next time I'll ask to sit in a quieter area - had a hard time hearing my date. Still, always love Terroni for a casual night out.

    As always, I loved the ambiance and the food there unfortunately this time because it was lunch hour, and we were close to the main entrance. It was not too noisy either. Our server was very pleasant, but I wish you would’ve checked in with us once the food came to bring us salt and pepper because I’m used to that happening and when it didn’t, I had to go searching for it.. the hostess was absolutely amazing and so full of positive energy and very willing to help me get the salt and pepper. She was probably one of the best hostesses I have had in a while.!

    Amazing food, amazing service, but it’s summer and it’s hot outside and you have to sort out your AC situation. It was super hot inside for our dinner and most guests appeared visibly uncomfortable due to the heat in the restaurant. You cater to a mostly corporate audience in suits and business wear, not having proper AC is unacceptable.

    We were there on one of the hottest days of 2025. The AC struggled to keep pace and most of the dinners were sweating, but everyone else was too, so I think it’s par for the course. We had a lovely private space off the main dining room and the food was delicious, wait staff were awesome, and I’d come back again! Just not during a heatwave this intense

    35C outside and stifling in the restaurant. I asked if the AC was broken and apparently not. It’s always like that!Food was good. Server was good too. But I will never return in the Summer or warm weather. It was unbearable. To the management….maybe a fan? Think about your staff if you don’t care about patrons!
