A quiet, intimate restaurant offering delicious home cooked food, The Terrace bar & Restaurant is located within the recently refurbished four star Blakemore Hyde Park in one of London’s most exclusive areas.
Within the Terrace Restaurant for you’ll find a very stylish décor, which, along with the unobtrusive service, creates a pleasantly laid back, hushed atmosphere simply made for romantic dinners, up-market business dining or catch ups with friends. Food at The Terrace is similarly themed, both displaying contemporary style and simplicity but a traditionalism in the English-ness of the dishes including Welsh marinated lamb cutlets, a succelent Sea Bass or Chinese Stir Fied Chicken.
We also have a comfortable Cocktail lounge offering both traditional and more unusual cocktails along with a wide range of spirits and wines which have all be carefully chosen to match seasonal and menu changes.

Inattentive service, below average salmon, and prices were high.

After passing Blakemore going to and from my hotel, I decided to try it. The restaurant is small but comfortable and the bar/lounge area looks inviting. I had the lamb chops, which were excellent. They were served with a large mushroom cap and baby carrots, both good, and chips. The chips were not hand cut, fresh potatoes, and not that great. I also had a life-altering sticky toffee pudding, served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. The service was very good. I would eat here again.

My fiancé and I were staying a couple of streets away from the restaurant and we wanted to dinner somewhere local on our last night of holidays. The place is really intimate and cosy and the food was great but what was really outstanding for us was the staff. Everyone was so attentive and warm that made us feel like home right from the start. It was the staff who really created the relaxed and comfortable ambience. Everyone was laughing and enjoying themselves and you could feel it. I would definitely recommend it to anybody. In fact, because of our waitresses we are now considering the hotel for our next stay in London.

The ambiance of the place hit you as soon as you enetered. The staff were very friendly and attentive at all times. The meal was excellent, but the prawn cocktail was overpowered by the amount of prawns and the lack of lettuce, cucumber etc. There was no sauce to speak of so to my mind it was not a prorper prawn cocktail. The remainder of the meal was excellent and I would recommend it to anyone.

No training whatsover with regard to Coeliacs. Gluten free bread was brought out on a plate of normal breads. Waitress told us that the salmon with bearnaise sauce had been cleard by the Chef as being gluten free. As we are experienced diners we asked another waitress who quickly confirmed that the bearnaise sauce was NOT fit for coeliacs as it contained gluten. Terrible start to the evening as a mistake here woul;d mean 24hrs of painful gut pains. Eventually the meals arrived and they were very good, as before. But they really need to train their staff. All this hasstle was after emailing the hotel during room booking and during tablke booking with details of "one coeliac diner would likely choose the salmon dish". Ample time to source gluten free bearnaise sauce for example.

First time tried this resturant. Impressive. Has a romantic edge. Waiters clean, warm and professional. However some tables were too close together making it almost impossible to move in and out freely The down side was the very loud noise coming from customers in the the bar. This made it difficult to hear ourselves talk. Finally we appreciate the box of chocolates we were given on our way out.

Good stuff in most respects, the Blakemore Terrace -- if perhaps a slightly limited menu (and the traditional London drinks overpricing!). A very big Salade Nicoise starter was more than ample, split between two; the mains were an excellent chicken in lemon. Ambience was OK -- just a bit odd to be so close to the main entrance/Reception. Pleasant service; decent loos (but far!). They were also very flexible over our arrival time, siince we were coming from a business appointment some way away.
