   Our dear friend is leaving for a new job in Atlanta in a few weeks and we knew that Tender was the only place capable of providing for a fitting send-off. It's a favorite of our and never ceases to impress, especially the taste buds. The cocktails were superb, the food hit the spot, and Craig our bartender was super-friendly, extremely knowledgeable, and attentive to every detail. Every experience of Tender has kept me coming back, but this visit makes me not want to go anywhere else!

   This was a fantastic Valentine's Day. The presentation of a varied pre-fixe menu was lovely. The service was elegant and discreet and the cocktail list veered from tradition to try something new (with mixed results.)

   While the food is fine, the service is the worst. The waiter was clearly not thrilled that we didn't order several drinks or appetizers, and slyly charged us for side dishes that he had implied were options with our entrees when we ordered ("Do you want the potato skins with that sandwich, or the greens?"). He just didn't speak to us after we declined dessert. Not at all worth the rude staff.

   I have been to Tender two times in the past two weeks! The food is amazing and the staff are friendly and knowledgable about the cocktail list and food items. The first time I went they had an amazing cocktail, but when I went back a week later if wasn't on the menu. I ordered another drink (that was equally as wonderful!) but told the waiter how sad I was that they drink was gone. He had the bar make the drink just for me! The service is superb! I got the ribeye sandwich both times I went and was never disappointed! I am definitely going to make Tender a regular spot for me in the Burgh!

   The drink menu is outstanding, while the food menu is more limited. The menu clearly notes vegan, vegetarian, or veg possible offerings, but does not do the same for gluten-free, paleo, etc. Our server was very knowledgeable and helpful. This restaurant would be great for a date or special occasion with that someone special because of the low lighting, somewhat small / private dining area, and candles on the tables. The portion sizes are generous. I felt the appetizer (cheese plate) and my entrée (sweet potato gnocchi) were trying too hard - there was a lot going on with each (lots of pickled veggies and booze soaked fruits, odd garnishes and seasonings) that IMO took away from the enjoyment of the food. However, my boyfriend loved his entree (roasted chicken) and had no complaints! The soup (apple leek) and dessert (pomegranate sorbet with crystalized ginger and mint) both involved unexpected pairings that proved to be wonderful. I enjoy innovative takes on food, but overall felt that there are still some kinds to be worked out on this menu.

   The food at Tender was very good. i had the salmon and it was cooked perfectly and one of the best pieces of salmon i have ever eaten. but first and foremost, Tender is a bar and they make that very clear. the cocktail selections were excellent. but if you are looking for a great dinner spot, this is not it. seems like an excellent Happy Hour location that happens to serve very good food.

   We went for my Birthday. Everyone really enjoyed the ambiance. The apps were delicious and there drink list was impressive. The only negative for us were the entrees. My steak was cold and flavorless and the only person who really enjoyed there dinner had a burger. Overall its a good meet up place for drinks and appetizers.

   I have never been to Tender Bar before and I was pleasantly surprised. The drink menu was extensive and well crafted and the food menu was small but delicious. The waiter was knowledgeable about the menu as well as attentive. Let your mouth be a tapestry for their culinary and drink artisans.

    Tender Bar + Kitchen is probably our favorite place in Pittsburgh right now (and has been for some time). They have an amazing bar scene with bartenders who know their craft. Their food menu is slight, however, the kitchen makes their few offerings count. Our favorite place to sit is at the bar!
