Cocktails are crafted with pride and in the classic tradition by respected professionals behind the bar. Cuisine is prepared in a scratch kitchen, with local, sustainably grown produce, meats, and fish as often as possible. Tender draws inspiration, and its name, from the Arsenal Bank building it occupies – a storied financial institution that served the Lawrenceville community, exchanging legal tender for its patrons for over a century.

Tender is closing so I would not recommend to a friend. We went back for one last hurrah and the menu was very limited. The food was decent, but a little on the cheaply made side for the price (i.e our potato skins were commercially-made steak fries with sour cream and bacon on top. Not a quality I would expect in a place like that). Also - initially - our waiter was very good and on point, but about half way through he disappeared and we couldn't get our drinks nor desert. I will miss my memories there, but given its current state, I am not surprised it is closing.

The location is good, right in the heart of Lawrenceville, but parking could be an issue depending on when you visit. I was fortunately able to find a spot on Butler St. I had made a reservation and recommend you do the same. The space inside the restaurant is very small and I only saw about 12 tables, mostly 2 tops. The service at this restaurant is top notch! Super friendly and attentive without being overly attentive. At first glance I thought the menu was limited and very basic, but the overall quality and flavor of the dishes proved to me that sticking to what you excel at is a good idea. We started out with the potato skins appetizer. Although I was expecting more than just the potatoes with chives and a dipping sauce, the flavor and texture were great. She had the burger and I had the NY Strip. The burger had the best flavors of any burger ever. The server said the secret "pub sauce" gives it its unique flavor. It was amazing. The NY Strip had excellent flavor as well. It was cooked perfectly rare as I had requested. The steak came with some fingerling potatoes and an eggplant medley which when paired with the steak created the most unique and flavorful combination. I loved it. The beer and cocktail selections are good too. We were too full for desert. Overall this was a great experience. When I first saw the basic menu, I was a bit disappointed, but once I received my food and tasted the quality and flavorful execution I was won over. The service was top notch. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone, and I will certainly plan to return.

Monday April 3rd was my first time there and I absolutely loved it. The service was great and the cocktails were amazing. I am sad that they will be closing soon. If you have time to visit before April 21st it will definitely be a treat

Great place! Food is wonderful and the drinks are fantastic. I love that they limit the number of people allowed in the bar so you aren't crowded and having people all crunched together.

The restaurant has an innovative menu of interesting small plates--cauliflower with buffalo sauce, fried artichoke hearts, hot olives with rose ary, and radishes were our choice. The only main course was a wonderful hamburger with greens, cheese, and other toppings, as well as a special. Great for grazing. The bar had more liquor bottles than i have ever seen with an interesting list of special cocktails. The apple crisp with homemade salted caramel ice cream was outstanding. Our waiter Mark was fantastic. A great place for a casual meal, heavy on small plates.

Drinks are always amazing! My absolute favorite place because of service, consistency, servers knowledge of menu, uniqueness, flavors, and overall care taken to prepare each cocktail. Never a disappointment.

Really great food and wonderful, interesting cocktails. We went with a friend who doesn't drink and she loved it too even though she drank diet cola all night.

One of the most pleasant experiences I've ever had in the city of Pittsburgh. The staff was polite and professional, the food was amazing, and the drinks were right on! I can't wait to go back.
