Dining outside on the covered patio was pleasant except doe the loud people right next to us. Food was just okay. It was overpriced for the quality of ingredients. Service was excellent but probably won't be back.
Had 7 pm reservations and was told to come back in 45-60 minutes. Decided to stay and eat on the lawn, which was better idea. Main meals took almost an hour to come out, but wine and tapas held us over, and our waiter, Adam was pleasant and apologetic about delay.
Went with my daughter and wife for the wife's 50th celebration dinner. Made reservations in advance. Once we arrived we were informed that there was no available seating right away and we needed to wait. Fine. When we did get seated, it was on a side door patio next to a kids playset and a hissing gas meter. Not nice. We then waited for a waiter for 20 minutes (for at least water) and one finally emerged when we made a point to call someone over. We then requested better seating and they came up with something better. In truth, the restaurant was understaffed and you could see the existing staff were stretched and stressed out. The tapas were mediocre in quality and it was obvious they couldn't adequately handle the volume of patrons they were experiencing. Our waiter was fine and accommodating although incredibly busy. Was it worth the USD 250 bill in the end? No. But then again, this was Basalt/Aspen in peak season (you'd be hard-pressed to find true value anywhere here at this time of year). I'd only recommend this restaurant if they adequately staffed up and paid a bit more attention to the quality of food being served.
Stellar food, terrific service!
Can completely understand why this restaurant is so popular! From the apps to the dessert, every single dish was exactly as advertised!
the watermelon caprese salad ...so refreshing!
Of all three entrees, the winner was the penne vodka with buffalo sausage.
Go there, you will NOT be disappointed.
Overall great first experience. We will go back for sure!
Food and service were excellent. I don’t know how they have such an extensive menu…all of it delicious.
Excellent Food, great cocktails, beautiful historic place
I will be recommending to everyone! One of my favorites in the valley!
We enjoy bringing out of town visitors to Tempranillo. The food and ambiance is fabulous.
Patio dining at it's best and our dinner and the service was outstanding!
We love it here.. our top
We loved our server and the food was delicious!
Excellent food. The waiter went out of his way to perform a magic trick for our toddler encouraging her to eat. We will be back!
Fabulous food, beautiful presentation, considering the place was packed, service was very good.
Always a hit!
They made my dear friend’s visit.
Service was great. Food was delicious.
Food was delicious but so crowded that made service
The food was mediocre, dry with no flavor. Highly disappointing for the price. The kitchen can not keep up with the flurry of patrons who all love the fabulous ambience. I had the fish stew with rice. I've come to realize I patronize the restaurant for its lovely summer atmosphere but not for the food. I eat just a salad normally because the food has been so disappointing.
We should have listened to the warning from the locals. The service and attitude were downright insulting. We showed up promptly for our 4 pp, 7pm reservation. We selected a bottle of wine, ordered our salads and entrees and then waited. 10 minutes later we had the wine, 15 more and we had salads. By 8 we were still waiting for our entrees. No mention by the staff, when we could find them, that our dinner was on the way. At 8:30 - 90 minutes after our reservation, the owner and staff sat at the table next to us and started their dinner…while we still waited. I finally found our waiter who said, “Not my fault, I am not the cook. I asked for your order to be fired 3 times.” Not once did the owner apologize for the wait even though he was sitting 1 foot away and clearly listening to our concerns. As the host, I was extremely embarrassed. Never again will we make the mistake of ignoring the advice of locals. You have been forewarned.
What a treasure! Basalt is charming and this gem in the center of things, surpassed expectations. Creative menu, outstanding food. The wine list requires assistance as everything is Spanish but the server was knowledgeable and helped us choose. Don't miss it!
Great unique food very well prepared and beautiful spot to get away from the Aspen craziness.
Food and ambiance was amazing. Our waiter was excellent.
We had a 40th anniversary dinner and I could not think of a better place to have it .
Really good food with a lot of variety and attentive service!
Great good on a pleasant outdoor setting. Excellent service.
As always, Tempranillo lived up to its reputation. It was very crowded, but service was excellent and attentive. We are so glad they were able to staff their restaurant with the very best in servers, chefs and great atmosphere.
We will return over and over.
Wonderful anniversary dinner, loved the tapas and the seafood rice! Fantastic wine list.
My dish was OUTSTANDING! I had the Salmon. It was cooked to perfection just how I like it. Everyone else really enjoyed their meal as well. The tomato sauce they use was delicious. Our waiter was very attentive. The dessert I didn’t love but it’s ok as I was so full. It was the vanilla ice cream, with honeyed walnuts and sherry. The ice cream wasn’t creamy. Had a strange texture. Will definitely go back though!!
My first review was lost Let's say poor poor service No mas
Really great food and service. Lovely atmosphere especially on the outdoor patio in the summer.
Food is overpriced. We had reservations but had to sit inside. Service was slow and not attentive but food was good.
We enjoyed our Anniversary meal, although we were seated on the outdoor porch with heaters. Inside is definitely nicer. We had an outstanding waitress, her name is Beatrice, but we’re not sure. She’s from France. The tapas are expensive but excellent. The crowd is definitely from all over the valley.
We sat out under patio during a rarely enjoyed downpour and it was delightful, warmed with heaters, fantastic. Patrice was a repeat server that we always enjoy seeing. Enjoyed tapas for entire table, sharing and devouring.
Truly had a great time - perfect attention, great price, lovely staff, delicious meal.
Fantastic, food, service and ambiance. We eat here anytime we are in town and it never disappoints.
The Caesar & the rigatoni are great. So are the Albondigas.
The food at Tempranillo is always good. Last night's Taglioline Pesto was excellent. Both my husband and I had the dish and loved it.
Excellent selection of taps. We had several and all delicious. Pear salad was very tasty. Sat on patio which was nice. Great place. Busy even on Tuesday night so service a bit slow but nice server. Make reservations.
Covered porch seating wonderful / more front lawn seating has been added as well - servers very knowledgeable and attentive - great spot!
Arrived at 5pm seated on the patio it was nice and quiet. Then about 6 more and more people started to arrive and noise level went up. Food and Wine was Great; Patricia our waitress was Awesome!
The food and service were great as usual. We had a lovely table outside on the expansive patio. Very pleasant evening enjoyed with friends.
