    My husband and I loved our experience at Tempest!! We celebrated our Anniversary today and our day was made even more special at the Tempest. We were treated to a gift of a champagne toast, bread, after dinner cognac, and a beautiful red rose! We highly recommend the Prince Edward oysters and snapper. Both were absolutely exquisite! We really appreciated Dalton and everyone who made our dining experience beautiful. While in beautiful Charleston, dine at Tempest!

    Thankfully their patio is covered because it was a downpour and I reserved outdoor seating. We tried it for restaurant week and each course was delicious. We chose tuna sushi and the accent of their homemade kimchi was delicious! tomato salad, spinach risotto, grouper, and pound cake with peaches & peach sauce. The price was great for restaurant week too. Though I would have liked a few more wine choices at a lower price. I applaud the portion sizes - manageable and more to what a true portion size should be. I wish more restaurants would follow. Our server Regan was knowledgeable, polite, and attentive even though she was busy. All the staff who delivered food were also polite. The manager was friendly too and as locals we chatted a bit about the usual crazy flooding. Tempest has a kitchen tip on the bill too so all staff get appreciated. We will return.

    Go to this restaurant! The food was amazing. My personal favorites are the tuna crudo to start, the risotto, and the some more for dessert. It can be a little loud, but bearable.

    While beautiful inside with great customer service, the dishes lacked cohesiveness and technique. The fish was dry, the steak was chewy, and the dessert had a shell left in the crumble. Simple cooking mistakes, but not the quality you’d expect from a Charleston restaurant given the buzz.

    This was the best dining experience that I have ever have. The staff and food were amazing! It was a perfect romantic evening for my boyfriend and I. We agreed we will come back every time we are in town and tell everyone they must come. The seafood tower is everything!!

    We dined during restaurant week in Charleston. Our cocktails were delicious and we both enjoyed our meals. The S'more cake was probably one of the best desserts we have ever had! Highly recommend Tempest.

    Everything was fantastic! We went for Charleston restaurant week and received amazing service (from Trenton) and very tasty food and drinks! We especially loved the complimentary cognac tasting with dessert for restaurant week. This was our first time and we will definitely be back.

    We had our dinner at the bar preferring it to the porch since we made our reservations the same day. The tuna tartare was so different with rice and nori to make your own sushi rolls, it was fabulous. The pan seared flounder and local sweet potato outstanding. My risotto was good but too salty for me. It was a great experience but the only issue I have was with my cocktails. I ordered a Manhattan and Joe, the bartender said he makes them with rye whiskey and I said fine , thinking it was their house whiskey. I saw him making our drinks and they are strict with with one shot. I was a bit shocked when we got the tab and my 2 Manhattans cost $25 a piece versus my husbands Patron silver on the rocks for $14. I figured my Manhattans would be around $16 since I’m not familiar with the whiskey which he personally chose and I thought it was house….so,I feel like I was taken advantage of a bit. We still gave a great tip and the extra tip for the kitchen since the food was great. Never saw lines for 2 tips ……do they not share the tips with the kitchen staff to add an additional tip for them! We had a nice time but I’d never return….food good, but they try too hard to make an extra buck.

    Everything was top notch from the service to the food. Some of our food was a little too salty for our taste, but that's because we don't really salt anything. Definitely will be coming back for more and bringing our family and friends when they visit too.

    The food was delicious- I had Flounder Ceviche, Crab Cake and the S’more dessert. The cocktails were also delicious. The mural on the ceiling is great to look at and I felt like every time I looked up I saw something new.

    My Monkfish and wife's Ribeye were delicious. Preparation on both were worlclass. Local Select Oysters as appetizer were awesome. Great Bar selection and good wine list. Special gift from Tempest at end of meal makes for a special evening! A must try in Charleston.

    Alex was our server on 8/26, and she is fantastic! We really appreciated that she made sure we were well taken care of. Everyone who interacted with our table was professional and gracious. We spoke with the manager that night as well and he gave us great recommendations that we checked out. We were so impressed with the price point and well executed plates and great service. Thank you so much. We will spread the word and we’ll be back!

    Made a last minute reservation and so glad we did!! We had been once before but it was for their Thanksgiving service, so this was our first “normal” experience. Our sever was 10/10 from the very beginning and made our night even more special. We also loved the local seafood available!

    We really enjoyed ourselves. Had a table reserved but ended up opting to eat at the Bar. So glad we did our bartender was amazing…food was very good and loved the flower and Cognac at the end of our experience, that was a very nice touch. Would highly recommend.

    Simply superb food, fresh and perfectly prepared and backed by exceptional service. We dined there for seafood which proved to be excellent. Mixed green salad was very fresh and lightly dressed. Tuna tartare was very unique with nori to wrap it in. Flounder was moist and tender with a Mediterranean flavor. Monkfish equally delicious. Our side order of Bok Choy was amazing and a must-order. Sadly, we were too full for desserts which sounded great. Wine list is nicely organized with something for everyone, but they were out if my selection. Our server arrived with several glasses for me to taste for a suitable alternative and both were solid choices. We will absolutely return to Tempest.

    We were not very impressed with the food. My husband's steak was chewy and my octopus was not cooked well. That being said, the service and the manner in which management took care of the food prep issues was outstanding. Top notch when it comes to service! Would give it another try.

    Overall this was fabulous. The building , the restaurant, the server , the food. It was all excellent. The swordfish was the best I’ve had since leaving South Florida. The Crudo was perfect as well. My wife’s fish was cooked perfectly and our guests also felt like theirs was solid. The only seafood I’ve had better in town ox Bexley ,, this spot is a winner

    The best dining experience we've had in a long time. All the seafood was so fresh and delicous. Loved the way the dishes were created and presented. Love the cognac tradition. The staff (Alexis was our server) were attentive, knowledgeable, and made the dining experience pleasurable. We enjoyed the Economy Gastronomy prix fixe menu selections. The interior and ambience are warm and cozy. The ceiling is a beautiful mosaic of tiles playing out a fun water scene. We will definitely be back.
