temper Covent Garden is always a good time. It’s got the largest terrace in the group and serves rare breed English steaks, which have been aged and butchered in-house, tacos and its famous bottomless brunch every Saturday. The restaurant is split over two levels, with an open kitchen on the ground floor where our chefs cook tacos, smoked meat parathas and deep-dish cookies over a fire pit and in a giant wood oven, plus a bar mixing Margaritas and pouring out shots of mezcal.

Downstairs you’ll find The Den, a semi-private sanctuary with leather booths, perfect for large groups.

Please note we currently do not accept Open Table dining cheques.

temper Covent Garden is a fantastic venue right in the middle of Covent Garden, a short walk from Covent Garden, Tottenham Court Road & Holborn Underground Station. Fire, steaks and gin take the lead on the menu and open plan kitchen and dining room with fire pit provides a unique backdrop for any occasion. Our private room, the Den, offers privacy as well still feeling apart of all the action of the restaurant. With a separate bar, it's a great space for up to 55 guests seated or standing. Or hire the entire restaurant for exclusive hire up to 100 guests. Our Group Feast Menus have been designed for larger groups, served family style to the tables for sharing, the temper way. Our Events Manager will work with you to create a bespoke event to your preferences, but with a twist!

The area was beautifully cooked! The staff are really attentive. Overall everything was great! The tequila lychee without the Tabasco margarita was perfect

My third time eating here and it’s my favourite steak / bbq place in London now. It’s not stupidly priced or claiming to be something it’s not like some steakhouses…classy without being pretentious I would say. They also do other bbq dishes and tacos as well as some incredibly tasty pre-starter snacks (try the beef fat dipped cornbread and pork belly bites 🤤). Our waitress was, and the staff in general are, very attentive and friendly and the place is well run, I’ve never waited a long time for food here. It was also my sister’s birthday and they brought a dessert dish for her with a candle without me having to ask, I had just put it was a birthday on the booking. All in all, I can’t fault it…I also stumbled upon a deal they had on for a steak frites which I believe must be a weekdays at lunch deal for around the £22.50 mark. This was no ordinary steak frites, it was a massive juicy rib eye…bravo….bravo 👏👏👏🤙🤙🤙

Tacos not as good as have been in the past. If come back, would definitely just have meat from the grill as last time I came this was brilliant. Service wasn’t great - wasn’t busy for a Friday night but staff slow and were not serving the outside area enough. We would have stayed for another drink but it took too long to order.

This is the second time I have been to temper and I was not disappointed. The booking process was very straightforward and upon arrival we were greeted and shown to a table. The waiting staff were plentiful, friendly and helpful. The food was lovely and we ate the lot! We really enjoyed our time and we were not pressured or rushed at all, quite the contrary, we were made very welcome. WE WILL BE BACK.
