Taxman CityWay is a gastropub and beer garden located in an 1850s renovated livery building, right in the heart of downtown Indianapolis. This family friendly gastropub features three full service bars offering 20 rotating Taxman beers, local ciders and a wide variety of wine and spirits, as well as a pet-friendly outdoor patio. The seasonal menu highlights local and regional farmers and is anchored by a wide variety of local beef burgers, steaks, housemade pretzels, seasonal sandwiches, Belgian-style French fries (commonly referred to as “frites”) and Belgian-style Liege waffles.

Situated directly next door to Gainbridge Fieldhouse and several blocks from Lucas Oil Stadium, Taxman CityWay offers one of the largest patios in downtown Indianapolis and has a stage featuring live music throughout the spring, summer and fall. A second floor private event space features the lofted ceilings, a modern fireplace, private bar and old-world charm.

Visited with my wife before watching the Pacers utterly destroy the Cavs. The service was fantastic. The beer was delicious, and we loved the variety of Belgian ales which are not easy to find on tap. We had two apps—the meatballs were decent, but the truffle fries tasted stale. We will definitely return for the beer and atmosphere but I’d be hesitant to order food based on my experience.

we had special request for cooking the rainbow trout, and the server worked with the chef and got it done perfectly!

two of us in my part of 6 ordered the beef short rib entree. i would not recommend this item. the beef was incredibly tough. the other items on the plate were good, but the beef didn't appear to be short rib, or if it was it wasn't prepared properly to be tender.

They had live music which was fantastic but it was so loud you couldn’t have acing with your dinner partner. The waitress culinary hear us. The food was very disappointing. Truffle fries were great but that’s it.

Service was great. Came in for my birthday with a huge crowd and they were very nice. Waiter came and checked on us several times to see if we needed anything. Food was plenty and drinks were delicious. Highly recommend

We had a great time in town for the Brooks and Dunn Concert! Happy Hour was 4-5, great special’s. Food was delicious, we had the pretzel and the chicken tenders, generous portion and hot. Everyone around us had the burgers and they looked delicious! We sat at the bar, the bartender was very pleasant and as busy as she was she was on top of things! We found you online and we were very impressed and we will be back!

Our server (I don't recall his name) was a joy to be around, was funny, personable and attentive. Food (brussel sprouts and veggie burger for my lady, House salad for me) were tasty and we appreciated accommodation of our special requests. Drink options were also good. Location is perfect for dinner before Pacers home game. We like supporting locally-owned places.
