I’d never been there before last night. I had the pan seared salmon, and it was, quite possibly, the best salmon I’ve ever eaten in a restaurant; delicious! Cheryl, our server, was on the ball with everything. Attentive, but not overly so; her service was excellent. I will definitely be back!

Always a wonderful experience. My husband and I met there for our first date, I was engaged there and we go there often with our children. The wait staff are fantastic and the food is always a hit. A great place for special occassions and date night!

Calamari appetizer was the worst we’ve ever had. It was deeply fried clumps of unrecognizable tiny pieces of calamari - no visible rings or tentacles. Sea scallop entree was served over risotto which was tasteless. Veal of the veal parmigiana entree was burned around the edges. Overall disappointment for an anniversary dinner.

We had a great cocktail, martini and bourbon manhattan; excellent bread…and then we had calamari as appetizer which was one of the best ever that was a meal in itself…then my wife had stuffed zucchini with pasta ( ate 1 of 4 and full); I had veal parmigiana which is the way the old Italian restaurants always fixed it..,crispy outside…great cheese but not smothered in it…angel hair pasta…service at bar exacting and helpful. All people going to Bally Casino in Lincoln RI should go here as 5-10 minutes up road

Very disappointed in the food this time. Apps were delicious but our meals not so much. Med rare steak and med chop was very tough to cut. Lobster tail over cooked and wrestled with it out of its shell.

We tried Tavolo for the first time for PVD Restaurant Weeks. Food was delish! One of the best tiramisu desserts we’ve ever had. Hostess, waitress and food runners were great.

Waiter did not introduce himself , just put the menu on the table and walked away..The restaurant did not have any mozzarella cheese so 2 items on the menu could not be ordered. This should not have occurred for a Italian restaurant.

We went on a Saturday night. We were the only occupied table outside at one time. Food was just ok. Caprese salad didn't have a "salt crunch" or rich olive oil that is typical in other restaurants. The short rib was tender, tasty and fatty. The swordfish really didn't have much flavor and was thin (I was expecting a smaller/thicker cut per past orders, this was wide/flat). Vegetables and potatoes were really, really good. Dessert of a key lime pie didn't resemble a pie at all and had previously frozen blueberries on top - which was lousy. This was a Restaurant Week special, so maybe corners were cut to meet price point. Either way, I doubt we'll ever go back since there's lots of competition.

I was disappointed with my off the bone short-rib entree. There was very little meat, asparagus, and onions. Where were the mushrooms and truffle oil, seasoning? Taste was bland. What there WAS mostly of was the gnocchi’s. Enough for 3 people. Two of us had the same dish. What was noticeable, is the other person’s dish was very full with ingredients and NOT mostly gnocchi’s She said it was delicious. My meal was not full of anything, except gnocchis. There were enough left for 2 people. She got everything and seasoning. . I think the kitchen either ran out of ingredients and chose to overload mine with gnocchi’s and no seasoning. I should have had the beet salad as that is excellent. Server was great! Have not decided if I will go back.

Tavolo in Smithfield has always been the best of the three restaurants in Rhode Island. The atmosphere is comfortable, the service is great and the food is excellent. We look forward to dining there in the near future.

We waited for 20 minutes to get drinks water and a cocktail. waited 1 hour to get food very crowded and poor service. We waited 20 minutes to get the bill. even though it was 2 of us we should have been in and out in an hour. The apps were very good. but the meal was just ok.

Food was delicious and our waitress was extremely nice. Unfortunately, the restaurant was very short staffed, and we waited for 45 mins before someone took our order and then waited 45 mins for food to be delivered. No reflection on the staff - it's not their fault there are no workers.
