Taverna is a restaurant utilizing authentic Italian flavors to create memorable dishes. This restaurant is designed from the ground up to be a neighborhood bistro. Taverna is meant to be the kind of restaurant that guests can bring their family for either a casual meal or to celebrate special occasions. While the inside of the restaurant is cozy, the best place to enjoy the great food is out on the wraparound patio.Taverna is open for lunch and dinner, as well as brunch on the weekends. During lunch and dinner service, guests will find a large variety of menu items available. Pasta, soups, salads and pizza are all popular choices. Taverna is also known for their risotto, as an entire section of the menu is devoted to the "risotteria". The signature risotto topped with a simple blend of parmesan cheese and black truffle cream sauce.

The food is really really good. And Charles - our waiter was fantastic. We love going to Taverna. It can get a tad noisy, but so worth it.

Aside from the table of rude patrons next to us, our visit was ok. Service was decent. Food was not great. Disappointing is a better word. I ordered the special, strip steak with mushroom cream sauce. The steak was gray and not seasoned very well. Mashed potatoes were bland. Mushroom sauce was watery. My daughter’s truffle caccio e pepe pasta was watery and bland. It should be creamy. There was no evidence of any cheese, pecorino or even Parmesan for that matter. My son didn’t like the burger. My wife had the mussels, which was the best thing we ate. It wasn’t my favorite though. Overall, I don’t think this was a good representation of Italian food, and it wasn’t good. Unfortunate for the price you pay at this restaurant and the area.

Horrible happy hour menus and even worse cocktails. The lime juice was from concentrate or old limes.

Very peaceful, Very good food, best sports i’ve ever tried. Our server ‘Murnal’ was very amazing, suggested great wine and gave us complimentary drinks for our anniversary.

Everything is always excellent, a bit pricey but that's downtown Austin I think. I like the Baci Bar for a quieter and more comfortable place to eat. They provide or at least offer some bread with the meals. When we asked for a slice of focaccia we were told they could only provide an entire loaf.
