Awesome food and excellent service. We really enjoyed the salads, entrees, and desserts. The nutella tiramisu was awesome. Rissoto was superb. LOVED the whole experience. Unfortunately , we found out that they were closing the restaurant. I have no idea why they do not get more business. Other restaurants in the area were jammed with people (burger joint) but the food and ambiance here was so awesome. I was so sorry to hear that. We would have definitely gone back. Come back and open in The Woodlands.
The food was fantastic and the service was impeccable. I also love the location.
Went for Mother’s Day and was disappointed to find that they had a set menu but was still very happy with what I got. And the rest of my family was also very happy with what they got.
Birthday celebrations and Mother’s Day was wonderful. Food was great and service was out of the world
Wonderful brunch with the girls. Amazing I drive by it all the time- and never tried it before.
The service was amazing. They have a great location and the servers and managers are super friendly and nice. The fettuccine carbonara is fantastic. Try the bruschetta and ask them to add prosciutto!
We arrived right on time to find the place pretty light for 7:30 on a Saturday. The hostess was MIA but we were eventually seated by a waiter. After that it was pretty seamless service and the food was very good. The salads were ok, I do not want anything drowning in dressing but it was a bit on the dry side for both the house and caesar. I had one of the pizzas and it was very good. I would recommend this restaurant and will likely return. Note: the listing says they have valet so we were counting on that, but when we arrived nobody was there, no stand, no nothing so we had to go to the garage. Not a huge deal but just as an FYI.
We had some problems with the waiter upselling items for a prom group. The hostess and the owner were very understanding and helped sort things out so that we felt fairly treated in the end. I appreciated his responsiveness and willingness to make sure we had a good overall experience.
The service was great at the beginning and middle of my dinner. However. Towards the end the waiters and busses kept puppy guarding my guest and I. It was like they were desperate to get us out of there. Then we said politely we are not finished yet, it was like the they did a disappearing act and we couldn’t get a hold of our waiter. It was hard to find a good medium. However since the food was very good and the Moscow mule was perfect, it did not out a dent into the meal.
Service for such a fabulous restaurant was very poor.
There were very few waiters and the one we had didn’t even come to serve us water for 10 minutes, after which we had to ask others for our drinks orders.
This continued throughout the dinner.
It’s a shame that for the good food, and location they cannot attract quality staff
Chili’s has better Italian food.
We are not from Houston & we were recommend this place by a friend. It was a very nice restaurant & the good was great. If we are ever in Houston again & would like a night on the town we will be back.
Great food, good service, reasonable prices
Service was pretty good, but nothing extraordinary.
The Branzino special was excellent. The green beans and mashed potatoes were a wonderful compliment. Biggest disappointment was that there is no meatball on the menu. Meatballs are always great for kids and while my son enjoyed the fritto misto and the fish he would have enjoyed a meatball with his plain pasta.
We sat outside. The temperature and humidity were great but there were a number of muscle cars that were rather noisy making it difficult to converse at times. The food was very good and served nicely. Very enjoyable overall.
Service was amateurish and lacked experience. Food not that great
After enjoying appetizers & drinks multiple times at Taverna - we invited my cousin & her husband to dinner (their first time). From the moment you walk in, you are warmly greeted. We love Vivienne - always makes us feel like family! Chandra took great care of us during dinner. We enjoyed great wines & split the Antipasto Emiliano - not one bite was left! I ordered the Risotto al Pollo a Balsamico (chicken breast with fresh greens - good), my husband thoroughly enjoyed the Pasta Bolognese, my cousin had the clams in white wine garlic sauce and he loved the Spaghetti Carbonara. She said the clams were small and a bit tough + a lot of work to get out of their shells, but said they were tasty. All of the rest of us were thoroughly pleased. We were stuffed, so did not have dessert. The evening was delightful - they were very impressed and said they, too, will be back. Now to further explain - he is a chef and caterer, so he knows good food. He had just a bit of the Carbonara left over and he took it home - enough said! Also, sitting outside was delightful - a lot of fun 'people and car watching'...all in all - a lovely evening.
The food is always great. We come for brunch fairly often because I love the shrimp and asparagus omelet. It is delicious!
Took a friend to an early birthday brunch before a movie on a Sunday. Overall, the food was very good. While the server was heavily distracted by a party of 15+, the bar server took it upon herself to take care of us and make sure the meal progressed at a good pace. Very good "fun" mixed drinks. Beignets were delicious-hot, sweet and a good lightly acidic coffee sauce.
The Burrata salad was great!
Great service. Wonderful staff!
Service was attentive, friendly, and informative and the decor very nice. The food was good, but not memorable and the place was dead even on Valentines Day. Houston has so many excellent Italian restaurants that going back to Taverna will be difficult.
Food was average. Not too many choices. The 1/2 price wine deal was awesome!!
This was our second time here and our last time. I had the lasagna and it was terrible. It was not fresh or homemade. My girlfriend had the ceasar kale salad and it was below average. no reason to return here with all the good options in Houston.
The place was closed. No sign or info on their website as to why. No answer when I called.
This was our first time to Taverna. We picked it because it was close to the iPic theater where we were going to that evening. We did not have high expectations, just wanted a quick dinner. We were pleasantly surprised with everything. The food was really good, the service prompt and friendly and the atmosphere very comfortable. We will be going back soon.
Big disappointment in food quality, service and expensive for the quality
This restaurant has been open about a year or so. In that time, food quality has diminished and the atmosphere feels more like a nightclub. Food is pricey, especially the salads, for what you get (see roasted beet salad as prime example). I am not sure our group will return after this last time. Service was great.
Menu is small and disappointing. Not many good choices
What an amazing time! Love the manager, Viviene. Can’t wait to go back.
Way overpriced for the taste and quality of the food.
Wonderful meal. Enjoyed the patio. Monday night, most bottled wines half price, was a nice surprise. We'd go back. Great food, great service, and a nice week night value.
Birthday diner. Food was great and service was fantastic. Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
Great staff, Michael was an outstanding waiter! Wine recommendations were fantastic...just found the wine we had and ordered a case for my house. Great night with friends. Food was great!
Great service and great friends! the food was wonderul.
Good restaurant. Fair price. Good food.Nice ambient.
Food and service were great. Highly recommend it to anyone.
We did not like the food. The cheese and charcuterie plate is not good. I ordered a seafood risotto and seemed to have no salt. Definitely, I will not go back
