Newly remodeled, the much airier Tavern is all about art, music, and above all great food. Open for lunch and soon to include evening dining, the Tavern adds a distinctly Mexican/Pacific Coast set of flavors to the local fine dining scene.

We are located in the heart of the Cedros Design District, within walking distance of the Amtrak station. The style is casual with indoor and outdoor dining ( plus bar seating). The patio, which can accommodate 18 guests, looks out onto the shop-lined Cedros Avenue and can be separated from the main dining area for private events.

*Please note* Our restaurant welcomes walk-ins during our Lunch hours from 11:30 am- 3:30 pm.
*Tavern restaurant will be closed for dinner (Lunch will remain open Monday and Tuesday when the belly up is dark)

Everything was wonderful, the atmosphere, the food, the service. Our server was Bobbi B and she was so amazing. Very attentive, and on time with everything.

This place is sort of a hidden gem, attached to the Belly Up Tavern and live music venue. The food is pretty amazing (the burger...omg the burger) - also lobster tacos, bbq chicken pizza, and steaks! So good. The mixed drinks are hand made to perfection - the Whiskey River must be tried, so amazingly simple and tasty. Service is great, and if you are going to the show you get to enter "early" before the crowds if you dine at the restaurant first (pro tip - this is a must). Give yourself at least an hour before doors open for the show so you have time to order great food, have a solid bevvie, and they go inside for North County's BEST Live music venue.

Great place to have dinner and then see a show at the Belly Up. The food was really good. Not a huge menu, but there were plenty of yummy things to choose from.

Great place to eat before the show. Immediate access to the show through the back entrance. Food is good although a little pricey.

Always enjoy dining here but this time changed a bit for us. The Mediterranean salad had so little couscous and cheese, too much dressing and salty overall making it too pungent. Side note: serving a salad with bread would be nice, especially if that is their entree. Lobster tacos…the lobster is like a stew in a pot, you assemble your own taco. With the corn tortillas and a soupy mix the tacos fell apart. The corn tortillas are amazing! Wishing they would tone down the fancy flare and get some of the old basics back. Have to say the flatbreads coming out looked super yummy! Be sure to try their specialty drinks too!
