They don't have booths, but we had a great table in a corner. Our server and the food were both excellent. My wife loved her shrimp tacos, and my rare strip steak was tender and flavorful. Veggies were steamed to perfection. Looking forward to our next visit!
Had another fantastic time. This is the best place to go before any Colts game. It’s our “go-to.”
Great food, drinks, and service. The kids always enjoy the pretzels. Thank you!
Had the whole place to our selves, unfortunately due to covid restrictions
Due to the slow business downtown, they were closing the kitchen when we walked in but they opened it back up for us and we had a wonderful dinner.
Excellent place to gather prior to the game.
It just seemed as though Covid as gotten the better of them.
Went before the Colts game so the location can’t be beat. Food was good, atmosphere was nice. Would definitely recommend.
Lots of delicious choices for lunch. Excellent service in a quiet, casual setting.
Went there after work for an early dinner with co workers. We were seated promptly, and our waitress was super attentive and friendly. We sat in the outside dining area which was covered with heaters. I had the New York strip which was on point and my 2 co workers had the bison burger with sweet potato fries. The burger was huge and they both raved about how good it was. Everything was good, we had no complaints.
Had a fantastic time before the Colts game. Food and Beer was very good. The Bud Light Girls even came to our table with free swag and samples. We’ll be back!
Enjoyed the opportunity to safely dine indoors at Tavern on South!
The patio seating and view were to die for. Our server paced our courses just right. However, the meal was lackluster! The Devour salmon with Asiago crust was unimpressive! The potatoes it came with were warm, not even close to hot. The dessert sounded great in the description. This chocolate flourless torte was not a dessert to waste calories on! It was like paste and not pleasurable to eat. Would not return for food here. First time and last time.
sad to see locally owned places struggle at this point in time. This place has always had quality food and drink in a very pleasant atmosphere, and that continues. Never had a bad meal here. Outdoor dining available. Shop local
Wonderful lunch on the deck. Food was top notch and leftovers for another meal! Great service attentive and friendly. I felt very safe. I highly recommend!
Great food, great spot with their own parking! Roof top was nice to sit on
Some friends and I went to Tavern on South. We sat upstairs on the outdoor patio. Beautiful city view and very comfortable thanks to large fans. Service was awesome and food was delicious. I had the chicken Cobb salad and it was great! The small size was plenty and included great ingredients like blue cheese, green apples, egg, bacon and tomato. Friends had the fish and chips and egg rolls and said all was good! Highly recommend for a casual relaxing evening!!
It was wonderful to sit outside on a beautiful evening
A great place to sit and enjoy the city skyline! Great food!
Ate outside on the upper deck due to mayoral restrictions. Food was delicious and service was excellent.
We enjoyed the food and outdoor seating. Great service as well.
It's not easy to serve a table of 8, but we had great food and service. The Sea Bass was excellent!
Dinner and atmosphere were amazing. The only "issue" we had, we felt rushed by the server. We usually have drinks and an appetizer wait a little bit before having dinner. The server was good, just felt like she was rushing us to order dinner.
Great place for dinner. Food was just right
It was my birthday and I had put that on OpenTable. No one said anything and the waiter was terrible. He rushed us through dinner and made us feel like we didn’t matter. I didn’t want my husband to tip but he felt guilty. The appetizer was good but my salmon was tasteless. It was a big disappointment. I’m sad.
We got there and were seated quickly, had to wait about 10 minutes to have the waiter come over. No big deal. Menus dropped off with absolutely nothing explained with their special Valentine’s Day menu. Couldn’t even get a happy Valentine’s Day from the server haha. We ordered alcoholic beverages and weren’t greeted with those until about 20 minutes after ordering them. Went to order the steak and they had run out of cuts before 7:30 pm. Ordered the wedge salad and added black olives and tomatoes with ranch dressing. It came out plain with balsamic vinaigrette. Just overall a tiring experience, we had to call the waiter over 2 separate times just waiting for drink refills, let alone the 4 times we had to call him over to fix the orders on things coming out. Didn’t expect to pay so much for an experience like that.
Valentines Day dinner. Great as always.
Thought the food was so-so. Ordered the filet mignon and it was average, at best. Somewhat fatty or gristly and not much flavor. Didn't care for being seated upstairs near the bar. Not much ambiance. That being said, we would give Tavern on South another chance to earn our dinner business.
This is a really cute place with great food and great drinks. My husband and I were there for Valentine’s Day. However, I was a little disappointed with the service. My husband ordered his steak medium and it came out extremely rare. When we mentioned something to our server, she took his plate, they put his cut apart steak back on the grill to cook it more, and she brought back out his same steak, not a new one, on the same original plate. His side items (mashed potatoes and asparagus) were then cold. We also weren’t asked if we would like another drink or if we needed anything else after the steak was brought out. The server was apologetic, but it seemed like she was more worried about just getting us out of there in a hurry. Good food, but not the greatest experience!
Food was plain and disappointing for the price
Service and atmosphere was great
Fantastic dinner with my mother for Valentine’s Day
Great date for Valentine’s Day. They offered a special three course meal and the service was prompt and friendly.
Went to Monster Jam that night. I really appreciated the sign welcoming guests to the event next door at Lucas Oil Stadium. They knew we were on our way and kept the service quick, which I always appreciate!
Another excellent dining experience. This is the 3rd year in a row we dined here while attending Monster Jam and plan on coming back next year. Amber was our waitress again and she is a very warm and caring person. Thank you. Oh yes, they have very good food too.
Dinner was excellent; and the service was excellent. Half of our group of 4 enjoyed the Devour specials, and the other two ordered off of the menu. We all enjoyed our selections; from appetizers through dessert.
Our server was very attentive and pleasant. The mashed potatoes and broccoli were cold. Not her fault. would still go back.
Good steaks, but undercooked from what was requested. Vegetables were well prepared. Waitstaff very accommodating—replaced a flat beer with fresh one. Will return!
We had a friends night dinner and decided to pair it with the Devour Indy event. The host was very friendly and helpful in getting us an appropriate table since our numbers had changed since I made the reservation. It was a very comfortable and bright atmosphere. The food was excellent and prepared exactly as we had expected. The problem was our server. She didn’t appear to know the menu and couldn’t answer questions. We told her we weren’t going to order food for a short while so we could catch up while having a cocktail. She still kept coming back every few minutes to get our orders. We finally ordered and during the entire meal she kept trying to rush us out. Five minutes after we received our main course, she came and said she would wait ten minutes and put in our desert order. I asked her to please wait and we would let her know when to put in the order. She was clearly annoyed and turned around and walked away.
I will still go back since the food was very very good. I will just hope we get a better trained server next time.
