Locally owned and operated, TAVERN ON SOUTH is a casual, yet sophisticated restaurant and bar located in the shadow of Lucas Oil Stadium and just a short walk from Victory Field as well as the Convention Center and downtown business district. Our menu is focused on seasonally inspired selections utilizing fresh, quality ingredients. Our well stocked bars feature regional craft beers on draft making TAVERN ON SOUTH a favorite spot for a refreshing beverage.

Our two-story, brick building built in 1910 features a warm, inviting interior that includes a bar and outdoor dining on both levels. The second level deck that looks out to the downtown skyline is the best seat in Indy, perfect for catching some sun over the lunch hour or dining with your friends on a beautiful Indiana evening. Plus, we have plenty of complimentary on-site parking!!!

This was our second visit in a row with really slow service. We get excited about many of the menu options but the orders are delivered very delayed and/or with mistakes. Servers are nice. Not sure of the issue.

Atmosphere was nice and we had plenty of room. The food was excellent! My son had a pulled pork sandwich and did it was the best he ever had. I had smoked wings with a sweet and sour dipping sauce and it was on point! My husband loved his mahi tacos.

Only criticism was the potatoes. Home made chips were chewy and not crisp. Waffle fries soggy and over salted. Burger was awesome. Fish (of the fish and questionable chips) also awesome.

Party of 10 from out of town…. Drink order taken and served timely. Food order taking timing. Food arrived relatively timing for a large party. Fries were cold, over cooked burgers, berry salad missing goat cheese… lots of issues with food. Server was pleasant. Loaded fries were biggest disappointment - maybe if they weren’t cold?

We ordered beer for table and got the last of the keg, four day ray blood orange, which was not good. We finally got a new beer. The food was good overall. I had no idea what to expect. I was hoping to discount our bill for the wait on the beer. Waitress was good but not as attentive due to busy.

Great location to hit before an Indians game. Wasn't crowded upon arrival but picked up. Food was good, not outstanding but better than stadium food and less expensive. I'm sure it's much harder to get into before a Colts game but perfect for Indians game.
