all hype. food terrible. Lettuce in salad was old and soggy. the half baked potato was clearly cooked hours before and the asparagus was pruney like it had been overcooked and cold as well. The ambience is great but that doesn't get you good food. Left feeling disappointed like I just wasted 100s of dollars when I could have gone across the street to Gibsons for better.

Why would I rate Tavern on Rush only 1 star, after rating Food and Service 5 stars? We have enjoyed several 5-star experiences at Tavern since it re-opened when coming in for dinner I didn't hesitate to make a reservation at 12 Noon for 4 people, a lunch that was both business and social. I booked a Standard Table. We arrived to find only 3 Standard Tables on the main floor and all were taken. Lunch is only served on the main floor, not the massive dining room upstairs. In the evenings, there is good reason to fill the main floor with Hi Tops for the energetic bar scene and overhead TV's. Temps were close to 90 out on the patio, with no breeze, so no one was seated there. I wear a leg brace and one of the other women is too short to sit comfortable at a high top with her feet dangling and going to sleep. The hostess was rude when I asked for the Standard Table I had booked, so I gave the second hostess my name to see the reservation made on OpenTable, and I was told very firmly if we wanted to wait 40 mins for a Standard Table, we should sit on the couch in the entry. Or take a Hi Top. If the guests at the 3 tables had reservations, then Tavern overbooked at 12 Noon; if they were walk-ins, a reservations made long in advance should have meant something. Given the unfortunate situation, at the least the hostess could have offered an apology, sounded even a bit empathetic, and perhaps made a gesture of offering an appetizer for the table. Nothing. Our Asian Chicken Salads and Fig and Brie Chicken Sandwich were excellent, our server John and his shadow Jose were attentive without rushing and very personable, but when so uncomfortable in seating and made to feel unwelcome, it was not a good experience. I'll book my business/social lunches across the street next time.

Wonderful evening at the Tavern on Rush. The upstairs dinning is more intimate and availing great view and opportunity to share a quiet conversation. The server team is great and provided excellent beverage pairing with each course. HIGHLY recommend the Tavern on Rush over the other two nearby steakhouses.

Upon arrival I felt they were shorthanded, no communication or water for 1st 10 min. But once we met our wait staff it was a wonderful/ delicious experience! Noel was extremely attentive and showed joy in her work. We will go back

The new place is awesome! Had dinner at the bar. Seafood Tower was fresh and plentiful for 3 people. The Faroe Salmon was at least 8-10 oz. Was delicious. Extremely nice bartenders that pour a good drink. Will definitely return. Prices are cheaper than Gibsons and better quality food.
