Tavern at the Point is a friendly neighborhood tavern with a pub style menu and a full service bar selection of beer, wine, spirits, and cocktails.
Patti and Chic Perrin took over Old Point Tavern in 1990 from James Newlin who operated the 401 Mass Ave corner bar since 1954. The bar itself dates back to 1887 when the location’s first liquor license was obtained. Old Point Tavern was the second oldest bar in Indianapolis after Slippery Noodle on Illinois and South.
Nachos and half pints, laughing guests and full bowls of chili brought locals and visitors to the authentic tavern experience. Nostalgia and stories kept the corner space a favorite of Indianapolis’ bar scene alive for many years.
When the Perrins decided it was time to retire, they went to Cunningham Restaurant Group to pass on the baton of the iconic corner of hospitality. “It’s bittersweet, but we’re super excited about the Cunningham Group” Patti Perrin told Indy Star in the announcement in January 2018.

I think the waitress was Felicia.Alicia. Something like that. She was great! Attentive and friendly. We just wanted a quick sandwich before the show. Both were very good. I LOVE the guacamole and chips side option. Well done with that idea!

We love this place. Food is great, service is first class, and folks sting there are friendly. My wife and I becoming recognizesble to the staff as they are to us and that makes the place more fun.

The Tavern was excellent as usual. Weather was nice so we sat outside. Noise level was fine and we enjoyed the evening. Food was really good and service was top notch.

We had a great weeknight dinner date! Started with cauliflower wings and drinks. Both fantastic and served quickly. The cauliflower wings are a must order. We shared a burger and fries and it was one of the best burgers I’ve had. Great service and nice outside seating on the patio. We will definitely come back!

Food was tasty and portions were (as usual) generous. Side salads often end up as the next days lunch as a result of size. I got a Philly cheese steak sandwich and it earned the name with taste and size.

Food was excellent and servings were generous.our waitress made sure we had everything we needed and did so without hovering. Restaurant was near full but no loud tables and noise was always a cheerful laugh or a small cheer for the Pacers This has become our go to place in Indy
