At Millpond Gatherings, we are an all-encompassing hospitality center where you can eat, celebrate, shop, and stay with us here in the quaint town of Northford, Connecticut. The Millpond Steakhouse, run by Executive Chef Pedro Avila, is a farm-to-table modern American steakhouse with a fine dining flare. Our dry-aged grass-fed beef is sourced from our own cattle farm just 2 miles up the road and accompanied with local produce from our surrounding farmers. Downstairs in the Tavern we encompass the spirit of historic New England with a cozy laid back atmosphere.

Millpond Events is our venue hall located adjacent to the restaurant. This rustic charming space will harvest many special memories and celebrations.

Service a bit sporadic...nice server willing to help dietary restriction but had to ask for water refills and food condiments. Food taste very good but for the price, portions below what I have experienced elsewhere.

We arrived promptly for our reservation on an unusually cold and wet evening. I asked if we could sit somewhere warm and luckily a table near the fireplace had just opened up. So cozy and warm. Susan, our waitress, was attentive and informative about the menu and happily answered all questions we asked. My husband had the prime rib buffet and happily filled his plate a second time with the tender and tasty prime rib. I ordered a burger and substituted onion rings for fries. My burger was just as I like it: slightly pink, tender and juicy. The onion rings were good for the most part, a few were undercooked. I could finish only half of the burger, maybe because the Guinness stout I had was so filling, so I took the rest home. By the time we left, the live music had started which can be kind of loud if you sit near the bar area. Overall though it was a great meal and we will return.

I have eaten here before and did not have this bad of an experience. Server was nice but kept forgetting to put in our drink orders and or bringing the wrong drinks. Both my friend and I had burgers when we asked for them pink and they were not pink at all, and were mostly dried out. My husband had chicken Parm. He said it was the worst chicken Parm he had ever had sauce had no flavor chicken was over seasoned. The other member in our party had a chicken sandwich and they said it was not good either. Like I said, I have been in there before and was happy so I don’t know what was going on last night.

Our recent dining experience at Tavern at Mill Pond was nothing short of exceptional. As a group of four seasoned world travelers and discerning food connoisseurs, we hold high standards when it comes to cuisine, service, and atmosphere — and this establishment exceeded every expectation. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the warm, inviting ambience that struck the perfect balance between rustic charm and refined elegance. The setting is intimate yet lively, making it ideal for both a casual evening out and a more special occasion. A special mention must be made of Jake, our waiter for the evening. His professionalism, attentiveness, and deep knowledge of the menu were truly impressive. He took the time to understand our preferences and confidently guided us through the evening with outstanding recommendations. Each of us decided to trust Jake’s selections — and every dish was a hit. From starters to dessert, the presentation, flavors, and attention to detail were on par with some of the finest restaurants we’ve experienced around the globe. It’s rare to find a place where food, service, and setting all come together in such harmony. We left feeling not only satisfied but genuinely eager to return. Without hesitation, we will recommend Tavern at Mill Pond to others looking for a top-tier dining experience. Bravo to the entire team — and especially to Jake, whose expertise and gracious hospitality made the evening truly memorable.

We had a party of 7 everybody had something different from burgers, chicken, Aged steak and appetizers everything was great and the service was great as well.
