Our food was excellent. I had the scallops and my husband had the magret duck breast. Initially after we arrived it took a while for our server to come as us about drinks and then he took off before we could tell him we wanted appetizers so we just skipped them and when we cam back ordered our entrees. Overall it was a very pleasant dinner
Restaurant week’s menu was an outstanding introduction to the restaurant! Also, sitting outside on a “coolish” July evening was perfect! We are planning to frequent again.
The food was outstanding. I can't wait to come back.
It was so wonderful!
Love T&G ands Lost Saint. The food was awesome but best was the service with grace and pleasure that Addy gave us. Tavern, you have a great employee in her!!
Fabulous food and will definitely return...but not to be seated in a small windowless room with spotty service and seated next to a large party with children who were increasingly loud through the evening. The main room looked delightful. We were seated in Siberia.
Wonderful experience celebrating a friend’s birthday!
This was our second visit in 3 weeks! Hosts were very welcoming! Our waiter, Jazz, was delightful and knowledgeable about the food and wine. The chef came to our table to ask how we enjoyed the food! Everything was just as good the second time around!
We have recommended T&G to many friends and all have enjoyed their dining experiences!
We love the historic building as well! It would be very cool to include a history of the building on the menu or on a plaque!
Service was excellent, i hadn’t been since they changed management but they’ve definitely made some positive changes
I’ll be back!
Jazz was amazing. Food was so memorable! I can’t wait to go back!
We went here for date night and loved it! The environment was cool and the food was great. Highly recommend the brussels sprouts and chocolate torte!
Food for restaurant week was amazing! Service was weird…unwelcoming and not very responsive. The space was beautiful, noise level was just right. I wish it had felt like they wanted us to be there and I would go back.
Josh was a great and attentive waiter.
Waiter was attentive and timely. Food was amazing, the entire experience was superb
Jazz was our waiter and he was superb! It was restaurant week and service was prompt, friendly and we thoroughly enjoyed the whole evening.
Loved this place! The food was amazing & fresh. Loved the tables in the basement/cellar
Food was fine but overpriced. Service was so slow. Never got a water refill, check in and had to get up and find the hostess to get my check because it was taking so long. Overall pretty agitating.
They are hitting all home-runs.
There for a bachelorette party last Saturday and the entire staff was awesome, especially the bar staff! Food was great too, but remember the people working more. Thank you!
Food is outstanding and the atmosphere is really cool. The lower level has a speakeasy vibe.
Loved this restaurant! Best scallops we ever had. New dish fresh pea risotto was delicious. I can’t wait to go back. Service was excellent they didn’t rush you and I have highly recommend going here,
Decent food with great ambience except the music was so loud we couldn't have a conversation.
The servers and hostess were very nice, the wait times were long, however that was expected with every place understaffed, they did their best. However, the food was disappointing for the price point, it wasn't terrible but just not great and for 4 people to spend $250 you want it to be good. The puree with the scallops was absolute liquid soup, the burger was overcooked (order of medium was well done), the duck and bison were okay but nothing to write home about. The sides/appetizers were the best of the food - fries and brussels sprouts, however the entrees did not come with sides for the most part so ordering appetizers/sides was almost necessary in order to get enough to eat and that was unclear from the menu. Overall the food was just fine, but at a very high cost. The drinks however were terrible. We each had a cocktail and those were horrendous, for example the egg white in one wasn't frothed and sat as large chunk of white goop at the bottom of the drink, almost every drink was not something we wanted to finish. I don't plan on going back.
Servers were wonderful very attentive and fun. Food portions were a little on the small side. One appetizer watermelon and feta just had sprinkles of feta and a couple of pieces of watermelon. The scallop dish was very good. Overall a good experience.
Great food, drinks and service. Love the ambiance
The food and service are exceptional. The wine list is diverse. Steaks and duck were cooked to perfection. Scallops and salmon were excellent. Presentation is beautiful. One of the best dining experiences in Cville.
Not many options on the menu. There are no sides or vegetables dishes. No bread for table and over priced. I left still hungry.
Old Fashioned was great!
Excellent, quiet, with great service and short but very well-chosen menu. Khalil the bartender is outstanding.
Fantastic food, service, and cocktails as always….whether brunch or dinner!!
Host was great, waitress was great
Food & pricing left us HIGHLY disappointed -Went for Fathers Day Brunch
Bloody Mary’s cost little under $30 and they were super water downed we didn’t even drink half of each.
Food wise - (His) I could have made at home and it would have been just as good if not better
(Mine) Was good but was not worth the $
I recommend dinner here, absolutely NOT breakfast/brunch which they are known for
*Also both tables beside us were complaining about pricing*
well worth a trip if you're in Charlottesville looking for a unique and delicious meal. Great atmosphere, service and food
The only reason I didn't go higher was that the menu items were not really what was listed on the website and was somewhat limited. For example, the online menu shows 2 types of Duck, a Rockfish and a New York strip, none of which was available. That said, the meal was still very good and it's a really nice place to eat. You might want to call before going to find out what they actually have the day you go.
EXCELLENT food but worse service we've experienced in a long time. Restaurant was incredibly understaffed and it appeared our server was handling most of the restaurant. He was working hard but a two hours to eat...
We sat outdoors like we did last time we visited. There was trash in some of the planters and several dead plants. Don't understand why management or owners wouldn't take 20 minutes to clean up and make the restaurant more appealing.
Great service -- lovely food and excellent cocktails!
Awesome brunch spot with live music. Delicious food and cocktails.
This is a very good restaurant: well-prepared food, high quality ingredients, a warm and stylish atmosphere, solid service (though understaffed, like most restaurants these days). Interesting wine-by-the glass and cocktail selection, too. Not as innovative or surprising as the very best restaurants in Charlottesville, but a good choice for a nice evening out.
Had the chx and scallops, both were very tasty and filling. Nice presentation. Had watermelon and feta, brussell sprouts, and kale w/ burrata apps.
we finished everything.
We loved 1/2 price wine weds and the bottle choices were great! Food was excellent as always and service was also excellent!
