Wonderful food every time and the best souffle this side of Paris..
Tatsu’s is consistently a fantastic restaurant in all phases. The specials were excellent (rack of lamb chosen), as well as the beef Bourgogne. The soups are always outstanding.
Save room for the dessert soufflé! They prepare the best soufflé in the city!
Our party of 10 loved the entrees, from sea bass to stuffed shrimp to duck. We had a marvelous experience at a very fair price. The desserts were heavenly, baked Alaska, tiramisu, and rich lemon cake with raspberries! We will be back again for our next special occasion. 40 years and stronger than ever!
Our waitress Mattie was extremely knowledgeable and attentive. Food was divine.
Wine was warm, waitress spilled sauce on table did not clean up
We again went Sunday to enjoy their fixed price 3 course special. Wonderful soup, entrees and desert! If you don't want their preselected items you can order delightful regular priced items.
Finally! Fine dining worth talking about near Overland Park! White Tablecloth, professional Front and a talanted Back reminds me of what taking my spouse out to diner is supposed to be...special.
Amazing food and such caring staff. Would definitely recommend to anyone. Great stuff.
An absolutely fantastic restaurant...unchanged over the years for offering excellent unique dishes and superior quality and taste. Plenty to choose from. Excellent service.
Can’t say enough about Tatsu’s.
Took my friend for her birthday, it was delicious and they comped her dessert.
We ate here many years and had a great experience - then we left the area - are now back and we loved your Sunday evening offering.
We shared a goat cheese salad as our appetizer. Hubby had salmon stuffed with crab mousse and I had beef tips.
The creme caramel dessert was the piece de resistance!
Everything should receive five stars. Great meal
Excellent food and service. Sat outside, very little traffic in adjacent parking lot. Very pleasurable.
It had been a long while since we went back to Tatsu's and the food is still as great as ever. Our family really enjoyed the pea soup, the chicken & salmon cake, and the house dessert. The salad was a little too sour for our liking. The atmosphere was a bit quiet, but understandably due to not many people wanting to dine out yet. If you haven't been to Tatsu's, give it a try.
our server was excellent, Glad to see salmon in puff pastry back. It was a real treat!
Fantastic service. Food was delicious.
Came for lunch with a friend. As always the food and service was very good!
Met up with a friend for a special dinner out-where else can you get properly prepared liver and onions? (A real treat for the guys - me, not so much!) I had a wonderful stuffed salmon that was encased in a beautiful puff pastry that was made to look like a fish -beautiful and delicious! Our waiter was very friendly and gave a great service! We had a table in the bar area that was quiet and away from the main dining area-perfect for us! A wonderful evening!
Food and service was absolutely amazing!
The food was outstanding as always. Tables were about 12 feet apart. We felt safe. We’ll be back soon.
Seated promptly. Took nearly 30 minutes for waitress to arrive and take initial drink order and did not improve from there. Took just under two hours to be served our entrees- which arrived semi warm- the potatoes were cold. Terrible service. Windows of restraint so dirty you could barely see out of them. Tables spread apart for social distancing. We did not see any extra cleaning steps in place when tables were reset. Saw many patrons come in without masks. An h pleasant experience and we will not go back. Very expensive for that type of evening out.
Had not been here and a long time. Itge meal was a great as I remember. Will return
Lunch with friend! Food and Service as always excellent!
We again enjoyed the Sunday night three course dinner for two for $40! Excellent value! We booked for 5:15pm and most of the tables were already filled but by 6:30pm or later, tables opened up again. So make reservations!
Forgot to ask for main dinning room. Always celebrate events in that dining room. Ambiance is better there. Food and service are always excellent. Been going there for over 30 years and never had a bad meal or experience.
One of our favorite dinner locations. Everything was excellent.
Great meal to celebrate my 60th birthday
Tatsu’s is one of our favorites! The food and especially the sauces are excellent. Service is great!
Food was amazing. Always love the escargot and tried out the shrimp app this time and was extremely good as well. Can highly recommend the Short Rib, Duck and Veal dishes we had and have never been disappointed with the steak options either.
Slightly disappointed in the services, though they were busy it seemed that our waitress was slow even though only covering 2-3 tables, kept disappearing and took forever to order. Won't dissuade us from returning to this favorite spot as they have always performed great service in the past.
Way too hot, such slow service-2 1/2 hr dinner and the food was average or below. Need to remodel. Very sad spot
Tatsus has excellent staff, and in our previous visits the food have been excellent. However, on this visit, my order--liver--was awful. It had been grossly over-cooked. It was rubbery and dry. I made clear to our waitress that I was not fishing for a "freebie" in complaining. Not at all. But I do want Tatsus to continue it's cuisine. I'm hopeful that when my wife and I return, the meals will go back to your past excellence.
The decor seemed outdated.
The service wasn't the best. We had to wait quite a while before service came to greet and we were the first guests in the restaurant. Also, the server asked every time/interrupted to remove plate ware when the plates were empty. Several times glasses took a while to be refilled.
Food was not as good as hoped. My salad looked like it had been cut up the day before as the lettuce had red marks from being cut. My salad was literally lettuce with dressing. No cheese, other veggies or fruit, nothing. It was described that way on the menu but I guess for the price paid for the salad, it surprised me that it was literally just lettuce.
We got the scallops and crab soup for appetizers. I can't say I was wowed by either. The crab soup was exceptionally heavy with cream, minimal crab, with minimal dried green onions. It didn't taste fresh or homemade. The scallops were decent but nothing to rave about.
I got the short ribs and my friend got the chicken with risotto. I wasn't impressed with either. The chicken dish needed salt. The portion sizes seemed a bit light. Overall, the dishes faired in taste.
I would not go again due to price and finding better service and taste elsewhere and it wouldn't be a recommendation due to the reasons I've listed.
We ate there for lunch. It was fabulous
Wonderful experience will be back for sure
the food was served HOT, which is always a plus....The filet was absolutely delicious and the salmon was fantastic...the meal could not have been better and the service was exceptional....great experience.....will be back soon....
It's the ambience that really misses the mark here. The restaurant needs an update. It feels dated. The food was good, but the experience feels less than French based on my experience. Investing in the restaurant and helping the wait staff understand a pinch of the language would change everything.
The food as always is magnificent. And now they have 4 tables outside for dining
Awesome food, atmosphere, and service! This is a staple in Kansas City, and hope it stays forever!
Always great food and atmosphere. It is my regular go to restaurant.
The entrée was exceptional... salmon was cooked to perfection. Add in the complimenting vegetables and the flavors were outstanding. I will definitely be back.
