We offer an extensive wine selection that is also available for retail purchase. The menu features flights of wine, craft beer & a variety of tapas including cheese plates, flatbreads & desserts. We use locally sourced items to create a palatable experience.

    Our party of four all enjoyed their meal and our server Andy was great! I loved the tomato stack and scallops and like the tapas (smaller portions)! We sat on the patio because we had a baby with us and it worked our just fine! Wine selection is wonderful too.

    We enjoy great food and dinner was pretty good. I had the braised beef with cheddar mashed potatoes and asparagus. All was good but the beef had a couple of dry spots on it and too much fat for the price. Don’t mind a small plate but give me beef with no waste. Hubby had the shrimp and grits and didn’t understand the grit cake noting that regular grits would have been better match Chef knows how to season and flavor properly without over salting Dessert was a disappointment. I had the white mouse cake which was nothing but whipped cream in a pie shell. Hubby had bread pudding but the sauce had leaked all over the bag so it was a bummer for him I rate this restaurant 4 stars as Chef is spot on with flavor and service was good

    Stepping into Taste the tone is set immediately. The ambiance and decor of the restaurant has a relaxing wine down vibe. The server came to our table immediately and was attentive throughout my dining experience. The food was divine with flavors bursting through.

    This is my 4th time eating here. I came here to celebrate my birthday with my parents. Food was fantastic. Had the shrimp and fried green tomatoes, stuffed mushrooms and meatballs for appetizers. For main course it was the crab cakes and scallops. Food was delicious! The bread pudding was probably the best I’ve ever had! I will be back.

    Server was not nice enough to change the table by the window for us, and it was my birthday. The appetizer that we got, meatballs and the stuffed mushroom were not good. Meatballs were cold and the mushrooms were not tasteful. I did like my small plate that I ordered, the filet mignon but they overcharge on that. Is not worth next time to order that. My husband ordered the pork belly, that was awful to him, it did not taste right and not cooked well. They did change what he wanted after he told them he did not like it. I do recommend for the atmosphere and to eat small plates. They also overprice the wine, would not buy wine there again unless it is very good.

    Sadly, this experience was not good as it usually is. I’ll start with the good. Got there slightly before the reservation & the table was ready. I invited guests from out of town. They walked in & said wow this place is wonderful. The waiter was friendly & served well. We ordered a bottle of wine & it was great. The Charcuterie Board was super (except they never provide enough crackers). But in the words of Paul Harvey, here’s the rest of the story. The hostess could have cared less that we were there. Only 1 of the 3 of us enjoyed the meal. The watermelon salad was not enjoyable at at - the slice was very small & seemed to be a cut from an end. I ordered the Wagyu Beef Sirloin & it was tough & filled w chewy fat. The side of okra was terrible-obviously old & couldn’t be cut or chewed. Another guest ordered the Braised Short Rib and couldn’t finish. She barely ate her side, but didn’t complain. Her salad was good. The last guest ordered the ribeye and thought it was good. We ended up not getting dessert. I hate the overall experience was disappointing, as it is usually a good if not great place to bring friends. Hopefully, this was just a slip up on the Taste team.

    We were a party of 4 and we really enjoyed our time. Service was great and very attentive. Food was delicious. We only had one issue, my husband ordered the ribeye and it was way overcooked. He ordered it MR and it came out WD. If you are paying that much $$$ for a steak you expect it to be cooked properly. My husband was so hungry at this point he didn't want to send it back and wait so he ate it anyways. He said it was still good and had good flavor but just wished it was cooked properly. Oher than that everything was great and we would go back!

    Nice environment with an unusual, but tasty menu. The cocktails were excellent and a nice wine selection as well. If you are in search for a very hearty meal, I’d recommend a different venue. Otherwise this place was very enjoyable.

    First, restaurant did not have our OpenTable confirmed reservations. However, we were seated promptly My center of my wedge salad was hard and virtually inedible. I mentioned this to waiter who offered to bring a substitute. I declined My fish and chips was ok at best My wife’s short rib pasta was ok at best The bread pudding was unevenly heated - portions hot and tasty - portions cold and yucky Price too high for quality of food Probably will not return for a long while

    Food was OK but we had to send back one dish because it was so overcooked. Food and wine were pricey. Both waiter and manager tried hard but seemed their hands were tied by the kitchen. I had a problem with no printed menu but a bigger problem with no bread. We even offered to pay for it but was told bread only came with certain kitchen designated dishes. Simply silly demonstrating no desire to please customers. I’d take my business elsewhere.

    Kids not allowed inside, that is not posted on website nor disclosed when I called. 90 bottle of wine purchased, full of cork pieces. Short rib dinner was a small 2 oz piece, intended to be 6oz. Hostess rude.

    Overall a very good experience. The food is tasty. Kitchen closes at 9:30 which was a surprise as the Taste closes at 11 pm on a Saturday night. Missed the entertainment that was a feature during my last visit.

    Taste was very good and it is a quaint place. Friday night they had an acoustic performer and it was a bit loud for my liking. Other than that, the food was good and our server was great.

    Taste is a wonderful restaurant. I will always recommend it. This past experience was a little off, however. The lighting was so dark, you could not see the menu well. My steak was excellent, but the side vegetable was undercooked. There were mixed reviews from the other 5 at the table - some loved their dish, others not so much. As always, the wine selection is wonderful. Our server had a fantastic attitude and knew both the menu and the (extensive) wine list well. And though a glass of wine can be somewhat pricey, the pour is generous. Plus, they let you sample. Everyone has an off night every now and then. Don't let his critique keep you from enjoying one of Montgomery's best.

    Didn’t like the fact we had to use our phones to view the menu. Not great for a date when you’re staring at you phone! Meatballs were not tapas style as advertised. Scallops were too small, slightly undercooked and only got 2. Wavy steak was slightly undercooked , but tasted great. I understand paying money for quality, but more on the plate would have been good! Left hungry!

    Would recommend! Our waitress, Jess, was wonderful! She was, kind, attentive, knowledgeable about wine, and made great recommendations to me for other wines (which I really did like!). We enjoyed the tapas and small plates more than the entrees. The short rib pasta and shrimp scampi dip are must try dishes! The price point was high enough to keep the “atmosphere” classy, but not stuffy. Will be back soon!

    The first thing the waiter said was “we are primarily a bar, so anything you might want we can get really close to it” I ordered a classic three ingredient cocktail… they couldn’t make it. The food was middle of the road to good, but the inattentive and unfriendly staff really drove the overall experience down. We ordered two desserts. One with ice cream and one piece of chocolate mousse cake. Ironically, the cake was the dessert that was frozen solid. I asked the waiter if it was supposed to be frozen, and he took the plate away and said they keep it in the cooler. When I asked cooler or freezer, he said “actually it’s a blast chiller” and walked away. The 12 dollar frozen cake was taken off the check, but again, the staff just made me feel like anything I needed was such a burden. The check was reasonable, but you can easily the same quality or better food with much better service elsewhere. I know I won’t be back.

    It was our first visit but it won't be our last! The menu was amazing and the food delicious. The service was very good and attentive. The wine variety was extensive. A wonderful birthday experience! We had an early reservation so there were fewer customers but more came later and between the customers and music, it was quite loud.

    We had an amazing night here. The shrimp scampi dip and cocktails were amazing. We had the ribeye and the short rib pasta. Both spectacular. Can’t wait to come back!!
