   We had a delicious meal at Taproot last night! The cocktails were inventive and so good. We have been huge fans of Jeff Taibe since Kawa Ni opened in Westport so when we heard he was back in FF County, we couldn’t wait to try Taproot and he did not disappoint! Everything was delicious, but don’t miss the chicken wings, hamachi appetizer, and roasted chicken!

   I’m not one to leave reviews especially a poor one. I hope this helps the restaurant to improve on the quality and taste of the food. Chef Rolland and his menu surpassed excellence. This new menu is nothing special. My brunch entree was not edible. Ate a little salad and 2 bites of omelet. My guests were also disappointed. The staff was mediocre as well. It’s going to take a lot of work to receive the same quality and preparation of food Chef Roland prepared.

   Our dinner for 4 on a rainy Saturday night was good. The flavors were well developed and everything was properly seasoned - we had salads, halibut, duck breast and steak tartare. The duck portion was a bit small. We ordered a San Giovese red for $45 and probably should have ordered the Bordeaux at the same price. Service was very slow, not all that important as we had a lot to talk about, but tables that came after us were served first. Our waitperson needed more training as she had trouble clearing the table between courses and remembering to bring new silverware. Price to quality ratio was correct.

   We enjoyed the evening. Service was excellent and our server shared some favorite dish selections. Great menu, diverse options nice prices. The potato leek soup was especially good. Affordable wines and special wines available. Will definitely be back.

   We had a delightful time and dined to acoustic live music. The service was friendly and spot on. The food was delicious; we had the cheese and meat platter to start and then the gnocchi and the chicken entrees. All very tasty and nicely presented. Thank you for a great time!

    We loved the mussels, oysters, and burgers. The service is exceptional! This was a great spot for a Friday dinner and drinks with friends. I’ve also been on a Monday for Mussel Mondays. 👍🏻👍🏻

    Chalk it up to busy Valentines Day crowds and trying to catch up, but on non “holidays” we’ve had a much better overall experience on all parts. Will definitely be coming back but noted on things being slightly lacking during a busy or holiday type of evening.

    Authentic French food served by attentive and hospitable wait staff. We loved the steak tartare, scallops, mushrooms, and delicious pastries like croissant bread pudding with dark chocolate and sweet cream milk. Excellent French fare at reasonable prices!

    The food was very good. Copp Island oysters from down the road)My branzino was perfectly cooked simply roasted with herbs, my husband had the steak frites & Bibb salad large enough for two people. The wait staff was excellent & very friendly. Very casual & delicious

    We had our first visit to Bruxelles since the change in head chef, which included a menu overhaul a couple of months back. We were so happy to see Ashley, by far our favorite server. As usual, she was great on any questions and had some cool recommendations based on the new menu. Most notable was the starter selection of the raw scallops Cru, which was super fresh and flavorful. The seafood soup and Bruxelles burger were great, and I was particularly pleased that there is still a selection of Gin Bowls from the bar. They could stand to have more than 3 varieties, but each of the 3 have a particular Gin brand. The old menu had like 10, but I get the fact that things change. Ashley is a key part of a whole new crew at Bruxelles, and we hope that they continue to reimagine offerings. Like many, we do miss the Tuesday special $1 raw bar. This was hugely popular from the prior regime. We will be a back to “new” Bruxelles, and look forward to seeing Ashley again!

    I went to Bruxelles to celebrate our January birthdays with my niece. She had remembered we went there on a previous occasion and suggested we go back. It was every bit as wonderful! The atmosphere was friendly and not too noisy so we could easily talk. The staff were friendly and attentive. The food and wine were fabulous and not overpriced. I will be back again soon!

    Our waiter Chris was excellent, hostess very nice, and food was delicious. I can only give this good right now is the fact that it used to be more detailed and smoother operating. Would I go back? Absolutely, the food was great but It took a bit long to get drinks and keep them coming. Why offer bottomless mimosas if you have to wait 10 mins between orders. It wasn’t until our second one that we got carafes. Tell guests about it upfront. I ordered a Bloody Mary- actually-add that in too! The orders seemed a bit screwed up- ie. Poached egg instead of a hard boiled and one guest got an egg that didn’t want one. There weren’t many starters that I’d want to order. Although obviously French emphasis, bread and butter and radishes and olives aren’t the starters to get me going into brunch. They were out of oysters to roast. Get me some bites that inspire. Goat cheese with fig jam on thick bread, cheese or charcuterie platter for 2 or more. The larger lower room needs some love. It’s great space and the addition of some nice antique pieces was good but for too long, those empty uninspired coolers are looking lost. The crowd was good but the place should be packed. I think the drinks need to be more innovative- a Bloody Mary with a lime and a few olives can do better. There needs to be more starters to get going with. And the services need to click in line faster and with more attention a staff person should almost be in that room every 3 mins. My country omelette was terrific, the rosti potatoes were great. (Don’t let me ask for ketchup/salt and pepper, just bring it or offer. ) . And the frisée salad garnish was terrific. I will go back but please step it up- make me feel like I’ve gone to the best spot in town. Huge potential with some easy fixes.

    Food was very good. Service and delivery were uneven. Hostess (a kid) first seated us in the bar, then next to the kitchen entrance, and then finally to a suitable and relatively quiet spot. By 7pm it was noisy. I don't consider 20' ceilings with exposed ductwork to offer much ambiance, and floor-to-ceiling windows on the street side made me feel a little too exposed. It's not a quiet, intimate place. Some plants, screens, or window treatments would go a long way. The restaurant let people exit through a dining room door onto the street which was annoying and offered blasts of cold. Roasted cauliflower appetizer was tasty but arrived lukewarm. Seacoast mushrooms app was great. My duck entrée was excellent, with very nice presentation, but the portion was small. My wife's scallops were tasty but weren't the freshest. Wine by the glass offerings were limited. We heard from our waitress that Bruxelles is under new management. If they work out the kinks, it could attract a wider following.

    We loved coming here in the past. With the changes in chef, the quality has gone down hill. Menu items remain similar not the same. Recently had mussels and the osso bucco beef. The mussels tasted off and were quite disappointing.

    Bruxelles Brasserie is one of my favorite places to eat for brunch and dinner. The staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Our waitress made tasty food and beverage recommendations for our family New Year’s Eve dinner. The craft cocktails were amazing and the food did not disappoint. The roasted oysters were a delicious starter and the Elk Osso Bucco Bourguignonne was by far my favorite dish. I will definitely return to Bruxelles Brasserie.

    Terrific gem of a restaurant. Truly excellent service by Alex the server/bartender, great food and outstanding drinks. The space is a bit cavernous and somewhat cheesy but maybe the new management team will make it more cosy and authentic-feeling.

    Our meals were very good although a tad salty. The coffee was very flavorful, and our servers were very friendly and helpful. Service was just a bit slow, but I don't think they were understaffed. Perhaps it was a kitchen problem. Would definitely go back as there were other items on the menu we wanted to try.

    Absolutely gutted to learn Roland and Angela will be leaving this gem. Was recommended to me by a friend only a few months ago but I quickly became a regular. I'm disappointed and sorely going to miss it, but am also looking forward to patronizing wherever they end up. Great food, great people. Keep in touch.

    Chef Roland’s last week - so we had to have one more meal! And it did not disappoint. Probably one of the best chefs in our area - such a shame that he will no longer be at Bruxelles.     Excellent food and atmosphere. Only minor complaint is that waitress kept coming by asking if we were ready to order. A little annoying and could be perceived as being rushed. Got better after she realized we wanted to take our time and enjoy our night
