Judging here is a bit unfair, as I have been to Barcelona many times and had the worlds best Paella - the Paella at Tapa Toro was just ok. Service and ambience, though, was top notch.
Celebrated my mom’s 50th birthday and it was a great experience. Excellent food and drinks. Very good service. The flamenco dancer was a blast.
Under these circumstances with Covid 19, the restaurant took precautions.
We had a reservation at 7 pm on a Saturday got there a bit early but they were able to seat us in less than 5 minutes . We got to our table looked at the menu for a few minutes and the restaurant started getting crowded . The table next to us got seated and one across from us as well we were ready to order but no one had come to us for at-least 15 minutes the women at the table next to us got someone’s attention and they helped her table then another waiter went to the table across from us . Then our waiter finally came to us . We were able to order our drinks and he left to get them put in . It had been a few minutes and the hostess came up to us and asked if we’d been helped we said yes for our drinks. The manager came up as well and then a runner brought our drinks and we asked if we could order with her since our waiter wasn’t around and she took our orders we were ordering from magical dining so we tried to order all our plates at once as restaurants usually ask to do that. When we asked to add our desserts she said we could order after . We were fine with that . Our appetizers came out they were delicious. My boyfriend did say that the calamari felt a bit cold I did not think so . The drinks were great and we did have the tomato bread it was good but we didn’t love it . Then came our entrees I got the steak frites and my boyfriend the seafood paella . My plate was a bit cold the fries were crispy though. He also said the same about his plate. We ordered more drinks which were also delicious and the waiter and hostess came back and asked how we were doing . Fine . The flamanco dancer started her second show of the night and we loved that. Then it was a while since we saw our waiter again . When he finally came back he asked if we wanted the check we said yes and also our desserts he walked away and came back and asked if we had ordered them we said no . We wanted the churros so we got them to go, paid and left .
This was a great place. Loved the food and enjoyed the dancing and watching the cook prepare meals. However, I felt after the dancing, the music was too loud inside to have a clear conversation. Especially with masks on, it was hard to hear the person I was with. I just felt it was too loud for a place to have an nice meal. Over all I'll do it again!
I really loved the ambience, the service and overall experience of Tapa Toro. However, I feel like for how much the food cost and how well it was spoken of, the food seemed sub par. It was nothing out of this world and something I can order from any restaurant - not even just a Spanish/Hispanic restaurant.
Great service and food.
Food was ok, but not great. Overpriced for what it is. Paella is just a rice with some seafood, but too much tomatoes so it doesn’t taste like a paella.
Steak isn't as good but I give the Paella 5 stars. Loved the environment and the waiter was really nice. Churros were delicious!
The waiter was extremely slow with service and made snarky comments. Asked for the manager then spoke to the manager and he made excuses. Terrible service. Food was bland. Would not return
The service was outstanding, Tony went out of his way to make sure we had great service. However, the food lacked a lot. The seafood paella was full of tomatoes, not saffron. Two of the three mussels did not open, although the three shrimp were good, it was mostly calamari. Overall very disappointing.
My absolute favorite restaurant in Orlando if not all of Florida. The Paella was amazing, as always. The ceviche was perfect. The chicken was delicious. The lamb was possibly the best ever. Equally as important the staff was knowledgeable and able to accommodate and advise with respect to allergies and dietary requests. Just wonderful.
You definitely need a reservation. Hostess seemed very uninterested in being at work or that we were waiting to be seated. Hard to read menus with minimal lighting. The place gets LOUD. Too loud. Hard to have a conversation. Food was good. Server was great.
Ordered a drink gin and tonic 20 mins later no drink
Had fun and good food
I would never eat there again!
Main course was awful.
Overall experience was great. Service, food and atmosphere was wonderful. We sat out and our biggest distraction was the train but obviously they don’t have control over that.
I was perturbed by the fact that the floor manager wasn’t wearing her mask while speaking to employees, literally removing it when not having direct contact with guests. That aside the octopus was lovely, the croquettes were wonderful, and the wine list is good. Skip the pan con tomate here—it’s prepared like bruschetta rather than the traditional way and is very under salted.
Went for magical dining. Had Seafood paella and the cocktail flight. Appetizer was good. The gin drink paired with it, not so much. The habanero drink with the paella was freaking great! And the churros with rumchata was fantastic! I could have had the Rumchata drink all by it self. Service was good. There were a couple if times our server got missing but overall, I'd def go back.
Food was delicious! Sangria is very good, but I didn’t care for their cocktail menu
Long time since Ive enjoyed a restaurant so much (and I’m the wife)
Will certainly return !
Very slow service. The paella was not good. Empanadas were fantastic. The steak was flavorless and the fries did not have any truffle oil which was described in the menu. The sangria was good. Overall disappointing. Likely will not visit again.
Server hardly made rounds around our table, frequently had to get his attention for water refill. He asked my spouse if he wanted a refill on his wine but never asked if I wanted a refill, it was like I wasn't even there. Took forever to get check, even after asking for the check. Food was great but service wasn't. I'm a professional famous restaurant critique on IG and left good notes for the food but lack of customer service. Thank you.
I went to for Magical Dining and I’m absolutely glad that I chose Tapas Toros. The food was good but the service was better. Would definitely recommend!!
The chicken and churros were amazing! I also loved the sangria, both red and white, and I don’t often like red sangria.
Went for Magical Dining and it took forever for service, food and drink to come out;as well as getting our check did. We were there for a birthday party and was sat way in the back, by a service entrance to the kitchen -not fun. The music is way too loud and the flamenco dancer show was just okay too short and not engaging.
My boyfriend and I did the magical Dining menu. Our appetizers and entrees were great but i didn't get the ride that should've been with my entree and dessert was not good at all. My flan was tiny, stuff and the caramel was obviously burnt. My boyfriend's orange creme brulee was runny and pour quality. After we ordered our server never checked if we needed water refills or if I wanted another drink. We had to constantly ask for water. When my boyfriend asked for the bill, the server stood over him watching the whole time as he paid. Very rude. He was only attentive when it came to his tip. Music didnt match the ambience 90% of the time and was too loud, could barely talk across our tiny table.
We wanted to try Tapa Toro and Magic dining was the best reason to check it out. We had a table of eight -four couples. The server seemed very overwhelmed and half our table was served dinner while those that ordered skirt steak sat with no food while half of us started to eat. We were told seafood paella takes 30 minutes which we did not mind. The strange thing is that paella dinners were served first and those who ordered steak did not get a dinner and waited & waited. We found out that another table was given out steak dinners by mistake. The manager took the steak dinner off the bill, however it was broken down a la crate so the entire dinner was not taken off the bill. It was not ideal eating with a group while half were served food while the other sat without their dinner.
Music was too loud.
Perfect dinner . Simply stated. The ambiance was seductive, the service was on point
My first time visiting the restaurant was not the good first impression. I expected better food and better environment.
This place is good for a group or big family. Food is average. Ambience is good.
I would highly recommend this place to any of my friends. Everything was great. Paella is to die for. Our server Tony was absolutely outstanding with his recommendations
Food was terrible. The service was moderate close to mediocre.
We went over to try the magical dining, food was fine, but we were outside and they kept forgetting about us.
Food was amazing but service was horrible. Waitress didn't even offer any refills or asked if we were doing good the whole time. Environment was great but definitely need to work on customer service
La comida no es realmente española , es muy turistico , la paella no tenia azafran y el sabor estuvo muy regular , el servicio fue regular , las bebidas si buenas y la bailarina muy buena pero la verdad no regresaría .
The music was so loud I had to scream so my husband could hear me. Entirely too loud.
The braised short ribs were hunks of beef with absolutely no flavor.
I would try again but order something different
From the service to the food, everything was great. The entertainment was amazing. Loved everything about this place.
Took my wife here as a Birthday present. We thoroughly enjoyed the evening, the food was great, and the Flamenco dancer was good. She actually spent some time trying to teach my 7 year old daughter some dancing.
Came here for the Magical Dining, as we always try different restaurants; but we will definitely be back to try more of the delicious entrees offered with the Tapas.
