Father’s Day celebration
Great Meal food was good as always, good value. The only issue was crowded as it was Father's Day and the staff was a bit flustered by the high turnout. They had a Father's Day special meal, was told they were out of it and the manager would be by with alternatives. He said they were cooking more and it would be done in 45-50 minutes, which was ok as we were ordering Paella as well and it takes 40 mins. We order and bam within 5 minutes they are bringing the Father's Day Special. Confusion. I ask them to take it back and bring everything together, not the end of the world. Was also delivered an additional appetizer that we had to send back. It was not a big deal just kind of comical.
It was an amazing place to celebrate a special occasion, we appreciate the all staff to serve us and the Chefs for a wonderful food.
This is a fun, lively restaurant-especially on Saturdays when they have live flamenco dancing, good music great tapas. The paella was okay-a but oo smoky for my taste
Awesome experience, food and music
Very loud and the food was pretty good but the service was miserable. I don't care how backed up the kitchen is, you can never serve 2 people and not the other 8 at the same time. The two who were served were finished completely 45 minutes before anybody else got their food. Even then, only 2 or 3 entrees came out. My boss and his wife got up and left after all this and when his entree was not what he had ordered. The drinks were slow to come and watery as they may have been sitting for several minutes before the server brought them. It was a pretty bad and embarrassing experience.
Excellent service and atmosphere. The food was plenty, of excellent quality, and priced just right.
Chafik wss our waiter onight, and he as phenomenal! We ordered the special he recommended, the pork belly, patatas bravas, iberico ham, and caesar salad, all wonderful choices! We ended up getting dessert after seeing them more it at the table next to us!
Paella poorly made. The seafood was way overcooked, rubbery texture. Way too much lemon used overwhelming the rice, seafood and sausage is deli sliced. Worst Paella ever on this second opportunity. First was equally as bad. Other items we had off the menu were mostly okay. But, we were there for the "Paella". Traffic was slow at the place, very few people eating there while other spots in the plaza were pretty full. Hard to think about returning there a third time. Service people were attentive and nice. Manager was very empathetic about our experience, very professional.
Fun atmosphere with live flamenco dancer. Fabulous sangria! Good selection of authentic tapas. OK paella but not sure if they use real saffron in the recipe. Super friendly staff and service: server Natalia was delightful; paella chef much fun. Even though busy, the manager herself was warmly friendly. Definitely we’ll be back!
Great food. Somewhat loud. Service was good.
The food was ok. The food was brought out as it got ready, so people got their entree at different times. For a spanish restaurant, the payaya was very bad, too much lemon, brown rice and not fully cooked.
Definitely will return. Had two tapes, two specialty burgers, and a pitcher of sangria. Everything was delicious. Missed out on the flamenco dancing and show.
I had spoken with management about having a preset menu. I provided the desired menu. I also informed management that it was a double celebration (my daughters birthday and her high school graduation. I provided my credit card to secure preset menu at their request.
We arrived to the restaurant and while they had the reservation, they had no idea of celebration or of the preset menu. The food was pretty bad, the service was minimal, the attention to detail was non existent. I will never return to this restaurant.
We went on a Saturday afternoon and inmediately were seated. The service was good. We ordered the kids paella- the chicken was burned and didnt like the flavor. Also we ordered the croquettes- were good, empanadas- no flavor, and octopus- was a little hard but the chickpeas were good.
Excellent service and delicious food!
The Paella was burnt and not the best flavor. Also a small portion for the price and barely any shrimps. he dancer was not energetic. Very bland performance.
Amazing service!!! The staff was so friendly! The food was also amazing. There are options for everyone and the alcohol menu has some of the best drinks I’ve ever tried.
My experience was horrible. I booked the open table for 10:45 p.m. when I arrived the waiter advised that the kitchen would close in 10 minutes. why a restaurant offers a reservation if it will not be able to serve the customer well. We had to choose the dishes quickly and without the possibility of choosing dishes if necessary. They warned that the bar would open until 2am. we got the drinks and an ashtray for my cigar outside. Brought the bill to pay without us asking. At midnight they turned out the lights and left us outside. Who does this to a client when he warns they are closing at 2 am? terrible service. I do not recommend because they do not deliver what they offer.
Richelle, server, was outstanding!
Unique setting fun and delicious. Paella enough for 4. Get the lamb ribs and mussels. Larger portions than average. 50 pp with lots of food and a pitcher of sangria. Bianca our server from Venuzuela was so attentive snd fun too. Will definitely come back. Don't miss.
Great food... a little loud on the music. But the food overcame it! Service was decent... could’ve used a little more attention. The dancers were great. Again, the food was superb
Loved the food, loved the waiter....the dancers were fun for the few dances they did...they looked bored and they were on the phone - not the greatest look....
Food was awesome. Even Wendy the Chef came to our Table and asked how it was. Great place to eat and the Spanish Dancer was awesome.
I have previously enjoyed the food & ambiance in Tapa Toro on occasions that were not a brunch affair. On the other hand, it was mayhem on Mothers' Day brunch. Their restaurant was beyond packed with patrons, and the music level was excessive.
The travesty began when I called 2 days before and was given a reservation spot for 2:30pm brunch buffet for my group of 8 adults for Sun, 5/13th. I thought I was lucky to get my party of 8 in. But what I realizedcafter the fact was that I was NOT informed of the buffet brunch ending time....and evidently, I forgot to ask. By the time we were sat at the table, and by the time we were served, it was 18 mins to the 3pm closing time of the buffet. When I asked if new food would be brought out to refill the empty buffet chaffer trays, the server then informed me that the empty buffet food stations would not be replaced because the buffet ends at 3pm. It turned out to be a disaster. By 2:55pm, all that was left of the buffet were the omelette station and a few brisket chunks at the carving station
The paella was gone, as well as the garlic shrimp , and other main entrees. I endee up not eating at all. My party managed to eat the last scraps before food was finished in the buffet, however , they could not have a second helping of anything. I was totally dissapointed, and told the server to remove me from our tab. Our table ended up paying for 7 adult brunch meals. Not doing buffet if any sorts at Tapa Toro again. Will head instead for a major hotel chain's Mothers Day brunch next year !
Mother’s Day brunch! Amazing paella
Our family came for Mother’s Day brunch and enjoyed the bottomless mimosas, which were complimentary for Mom’s, by the way...:) Food was great - especially loved the paella, but the restaurant was packed to the brim inside. We opted for outside seating, which was nice, though the day was a bit hot. Our server was attentive, accommodating and very friendly. No complaints there. Only found the music a bit too loud, and inside too chaotic for us with our little one. Overall great experience. Would definitely come back and recommend!
We went for Mother’s Day. We had to wait to get seated and the girls at the front desk had a lot of confusion and were taking care of walk-in’s, whereas we had a reservation. Finally, some young men paid attention to us and helped us get seated, thank goodness. The food was delicious, the ambiance was great and the server was good, so it was worth it and we may good back. The music was too loud for the grandmothers but it was a little better at our table. I think they overbooked themselves. It was extremely crowded and difficult to walk from the table to the buffet.
We won a gift card to this place so we thought we would give it a try. The placed was OVER booked. Reservations don’t mean anything. The tables are very close together. The food was good however we where charged for our 3 and 5 year $15 each for buffet. My five year old are a cold waffle and my 3 year old ate maybe 10 French fries.
Our Server was amazing, great job, she was very helpful, the buffet was really far and hard to get there, place was too crowded, food locate outside was cold, buffet en general was good, I will try on a regular day, Sandra really good, I hope you can find out my server, she was great, Luna Family, 14 people, Mother's Day , music great
The ambiance was great but the food was ok. For the price of the brunch, there was not that many food selections. They gave very little meat and we required to go up to the buffet multiple times. The did not do a good job keeping the buffet stocked and it was very crowded in the buffet area. It was not well planned at all. The dancers were great and the music was loud and energetic but overall the buffet was a bust. We may try it for a girls night out but not with kids at all. To bad. My family of 12 was not impressed.
We wanted to take my mom to a nice restaurant for Mother’s Day and decided to go here because of the menu and they had reservations available at 8pm. However, when we showed up they were booked and we had to wait about an hour for a table. After we sat down the food came out pretty fast however the kitchen forgot my mom’s salmon so she ended up eating chicken fingers and fries.
I dont even know where to start!!! over priced food , th service was not good and the music was sooo loud! Did I mention the food was nasty??? and I am pretty sure we spent ove $250.00
it was our 30th anniversary...we had a spectacular time....our waiter Eli was awesome all his recommendation were outstanding
The only thing we liked was the red sangria. Garlic in the garlic shrimp tasted burnt, lamb sliders were so boring. The appearance of them didn’t wow my husband and I and the lechón al Moro had absolutely no taste what so ever. Ever hear of salt!! Not worth what I spent.
We had several plates of tapas, and all of the food we had was good. But that being said, we were expecting more of a wow-factor from the food. The restaurant itself is very plain. It has a great location at the Orlando Eye. Bianca was an excellent server. But the food was expensive (even for tapas), and it just wasn't good enough for the price.
Server was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, the food was simply delicious, the outside table was an excellent choice being the weather was perfect and the entertainer was authentic and professional. Don't skip this place!
We went to celebrate a special occasion on Sunday 05/06/18. The servers were on top (they were two gentleman’s) their service was on point handling an allergy. The music was trendy. Prices were perfect. The one thing that could improve or something that “wow” factor will do... if it’s a birthday, bring a little desert! I wouldn’t mind buying the desert but I went there and made the reservation as birthday celebration. We will go back! But I believe next time I will point it out to any server about the birthday celebration.
I would like to see more decorations and comfy chairs but overall great spanish food, la bailarina española was amazing and the food was exquisite.
I've been to Tapa Toro several times, at least four. I like that they have a live flamenco dancer and they have a paella dish that can be shared with a group. The volume that the music is played at, however, ruins the possibility of any organic energetic vibe. The noise level is "Loud" not because it has an energetic vibe. No, far from it. The noise level is loud because they play the music extremely loudly. I actually thought management would get the hint and lower the volume, but alas... the music continues to be played loudly.
I was with a group of twelve and we were seated outside. We had to yell at each other to have a conversation at the normal music level. When the dancer came out, our table came to a complete silence. The music level for the dancer was so loud we couldn't hear each other at all. As soon as the dancer was done, our conversations started back up, went to yelling and then stopped because the "dancer" came out. This process repeated until we got the check, when they finally lowered the music volume to an acceptable level.
We've had this problem during most of our visits. Of course we would asked them to lower the volume and yes they refused. I'm pretty sure I'm done with this place. There are too many places that serve better food and that offers a better ambiance and customer service.
