We, at Tandoori Flame Restaurants, are extremely excited to be bringing our ‘GRAND INDIAN BUFFET’ experience to British Columbia. Be aware of unethical tactics at this restaurant. Deliberately putting bottled water on tables even after mentioning we wanted regular tap water. Adding gratuity as a "Facilities Fee" without disclosing tip was already included and making customers go through a screen during payment to add more tip. Not an ethical business where they deliberately deceive the customer.

Extremely Disappointing Experience Our visit to Tandoori Flame was thoroughly underwhelming. The golgappa station near the entrance seemed like a gimmick, and the tandoori chicken was the only redeeming item. The naan lacked softness and fluffiness, and the curries were clearly made with pre-cooked gravies and separately added meats—especially the goat curry, which was bland and lacked depth despite using decent-quality meat. The biryani rice was of poor quality, with stale spices that tasted mass-produced. Even the butter chicken was reportedly inedible, according to my teammate. To add to the poor food experience, there were several service issues. Bottled water was placed on our table without explanation, and I had to warn my team they'd be charged if they opened it—this wasn’t communicated by the staff. Furthermore, the automatic service charge for large groups, while common, was not disclosed at any point during the reservation or meal. When I raised concerns, the staff offered a curt “talk to the manager” response, which felt dismissive and unprofessional. Having visited before, I had low expectations, but this time confirmed I won’t be returning. Tandoori Flame has sadly prioritized mass appeal over quality and customer care.

Disappointed Despite High ratings I recently visited Tandoori Flame, for mothers day lunch drawn by its impressive 4.5-star rating and glowing reviews. Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. While the ambiance was pleasant and the service generally attentive, the quality of the food did not match its high rating. For the price point, I expected a more refined and memorable dining experience, but the dishes were underwhelming and lacked the depth of flavor I had anticipated. One particular disappointment was the limited selection of vegetable curries—there were only two available. While there were salads on offer, this is not typically representative of authentic Indian cuisine. Traditional staples such as okra curry, bean curries, or a richer variety of vegetable dishes would have added to the experience and showcased the true diversity of Indian flavors. The chai we ordered was another letdown. Authentic chai is known for its rich blend of cardamom, spices, and robust flavor with milk. What I received, however, was simply a tea bag dipped in hot water—thin and watery, missing the essence of a proper chai experience. I was also surprised when the server explicitly requested a tip. While gratuities are customary, the direct request felt unprofessional, particularly given that the service was standard rather than exceptional. I believe that establishments with such high ratings would benefit from professional assessments, such as those by Michelin or other respected culinary organizations, to ensure that the public receives a fair representation of quality. Sadly, my visit did not live up to the expectations set by its rating.

Our server was attentive and explained all the drinks options. Flavour of food was great and lots of choices. Maybe there could have been more attention given to the ice cream section, as customers were picking up the containers and scooping ice cream with their bare hands and that can be a hygiene issue. This is way we selected not to take ice cream.

We all group of 5. I wrote a review on your website saying that you have over charged. You guys have deleted it. Anyway your drink menu hasn’t any prices. We will never recommend to anyone. I have a picture of your bill too. They have charged me $19.00 for margarita. You should put all the prices in the menu.

Great staff, delicious food, wonderful atmosphere! My only complaint is that there is not enough space between seats at the table and also there is not enough space between tables.
