Tandoor Chop House

**Our Sunday Mighty Thali menu is only available on Sunday's from 12-4pm (last orders are taken at 3.45 pm)
Amazing food at a reasonable price. Great atmosphere! Highly recommend!
Was a Monday lunch so was only half full which I was quite happy about as it’s quite a small restaurant, food was amazing I had the lamb chops which were succulent and so tasty Truffle and cheese nan bread was the best nan I’d ever had!! Be prepared as it’s not a traditional Indian in the sense that there is no curry or rice but don’t let this put you off as you won’t leave disappointed
I'm only not giving such a great review because they ran out of chops but they did explain that it was because of the thali special they do on a Sunday so fair enough...it meant I tried their pepper chicken which was excellent so not totally disappointed.
This is the second time I’ve eaten at the chop house, and I was rather disappointed this time. The bread I ordered was a thin, dry thing. We had to order Naan to compensate. My mushroom dish said pomegranate, well there must have been 3 seeds in total. It’s not cheap to eat here, so I was rather disappointed. The ambiance remains excellent though
We arrived much earlier than our booking and although they kindly accommodated us after 15 mins or so they were reluctant to give us a table despite there being many free tables at the time. We were seated at 7.45pm and were quickly informed that we’d need to return the table by 9pm. Our orders weren’t taken until 8pm and although the starters arrived swiftly afterwards, it was another 30 mins or so before the main courses arrived. At this point it was 8.40pm when we started eating our main courses and we had ordered a 3 course feast menu. Our desserts didn’t arrive until 9.10 and at this point we felt uncomfortable as the manager kept looking over to our table.
Although the food was enjoyable the service was poor and we felt very uncomfortable, the manager is clearly inexperienced and needs to reconsider his approach with customers. Unfortunately because of the poor service we received I will not be returning here and would not recommend it to others.
Understated exterior we almost missed it. Glad we didn't though, the manager was very friendly and we were shown to a booth which was great. Food was fantastic except for the tandoori chicken was a bit dry. We were using a voucher which caused some confusion but other than that gret night I will go back
Delicious lamb chops and black pepper chicken tikka supplemented with nan, black Dahl and smashed cucumber. Quite subtle spicing on the marinade and overall a very pleasant lunch experience
Wonderful food . Have been before and will go again
The Sunday thali was excellent, delicious array of creative and perfectly cooked tasters. For this reason I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.
The service was unfriendly and unwelcoming so was a major put off. The servers were so scruffy I could hardly tell if they were employees or visitors.
Great atmosphere, service wasn’t rushed. Food was amazing and quite different from other Indian restaurants ie no rice and the usual sauces but we all love it. Will be going back 100%
Lovely restaurant but, having made a reservation & arriving on time. Having booked for 2hrs per their terms, we were then told we could only stay for 1:30hrs owing to another booking in our area - not good when this is an expensive restaurant
Pleasant change from dishoom what else can I say !!! Let’s hope they are consistence and deliver this brilliant food in future
Very buzzy place great food amazingly good value for where it is
Great food. Good ambiance. A little on the expensive side, but overall a very enjoyable experience.
Outstanding Amritsari Chops, Starters, Butter Naans & Flavours of the kebabs
Disappointing - Kebabs slightly over done (so lost it's moisture) and duck breast too overdone - almost inedible.
However, Service was attentive and very good and when given feed back, they did not charge for the Kebab & Duck.
Suggestion for visitors, we suggest to let them know you'd like your duck breast 'pink' and the kebab lightly done - the kitchen is very busy & it's quite easy for any dish in a tandoor to get overdone if not watched carefully.
Would recommend you give them a try, despite our slight disappointments
The food has always been great here. My favorite is by far the tandoori lamb chops. My only issue with the restaurant is being asked to leave after we were done eating and were socializing with our friends. This would never happen in Paris.
Very nice Indian food in London theatre district. Wonderful Tandoori chicken!
Amazing food, lovely drinks. Good option for children. Exquisite quality meat from the tandoor full of flavour.
Delicious food, served in a cosy and inviting restaurant. Try the lamb chops - melt in your mouth!
Tandoor Chop House is an excellent restaurant. I have been many times. The staff are ultra-friendly and the food never disappoints - it's delicious and always very fresh. I couldn't recommend it more highly.
Really really delicious food, friendly staff, great atmosphere. Excellent for anyone who doesn’t eat meat.
We had a great evening at Tandoor Chop House. Staff were great, food was amazing. Will definitely be returning and recommending to friends.
Food was amazing, service was a little slow. On arriving we were handed our menus and pointed in direction of a table.
Great food, ambience and friendliness. My go to restaurant. Don’t miss the lamb chops!
Good tasty food but I thought the service charge high for the type of restaurant
My only criticism would be the noisy extractor fans, but a small price to pay for the best tandoori food I’ve ever had (that includes 3 months spent in India).
Ambient was extremely dark and impossible to see the meal. Despite being an indian restaurant they do not have rice or meals with mixed sauce as I.e. Masala (typical indian meal). The portions were poor versus high prices per portion. Just chicken tandoori costs 13 pounds with just 5-6 small chicken pieces. For the money paid it is not worth it. The bread Naan also really expensive (2,5 £ per unit). It is the most expensive indian restaurant and with lowest quantities we have tried in London. We decided to go outside and eat some sweets (waffle and crepe) to be fully satisfied. I would recommend other options better than this.
Pros: It was a comfortable restaurant and they gave a good sized table for 5 people and they sat us right on time for our reservation. The food was great we all really enjoyed our meal. Days later and we’re still talking about how good the food was. (Try the truffle cheese naan 🤤)
Cons: The service was upsetting. The server was so rude and made it clear he had better things to worry about. At one point when I asked for a recommendation for a sauce to go with my naan, he got frustrated that there were no “sauces,” YET the menu clearly has a list of “chutneys & sauces.” We had to ask other servers to order drinks and get our check, as he was avoiding eye contact with us.
Nous n'avions jamais mangé indien de notre vie. Arrivés devant la carte nous n'avions aucun idée de quels plats choisir. Mes le patrons est venu nous voir nous a demandé ce que l'on aimé et nous a fait une proposition pour notre repas. Merci encore. Nous avons fait une superbe découverte culinaire
The food is always great here - very different to your typical Indian, but it's so flavoursome and the meat is always cooked to perfection. Cocktails are great, too!
We have eaten at the Chop House many times, fantastic food
we had a confirmed booking, but upon arrival the 'front of house' didn't greet us, hardly acknowledged us, and then pointed to somewhere we could sit until our table became free ( we weren't early but were exactly on time ).
The food was amazing.
There was just a bit too much food on the plate.
The food was tasty but poor value given the service was slap dash and chaotic. The bathrooms were an absolute mess and treated as a storage room.
Wonderful restaurant with amazing food! Top service too
Went here in May and went for lunch last week. The onion rings were great and the lamb chops were absolutely to die for. The dal was also delicious. My husband and I will be coming here every time we come to London.
Food was OKish, food served was not fresh and service was slow.
Overall nit a good place I would recommend with the price they charge for...
Great food and contrary to many reviews, the service was excellent. The food is really quite good, we loved the lamb chops and the truffle naan. Maybe six quid is a bit much for a can of beer but its a restaurant just off Covent Garden for god’s sake (other review). I would definitely go back anytime!
Its true thta some tables are a bit small for greedy people (like us) who ordered loads of dishes!
I am very disappointed with the booking. I pre-booked before a day for 2:45 pm. I called at 1 that we are early can we pop in? The guy said no. When I went to the restaurant, many tables were empty and he was accepting walk in clients. So why he didn’t allow us early? Unprofessional
