Great atmosphere, service wasn’t rushed. Food was amazing and quite different from other Indian restaurants ie no rice and the usual sauces but we all love it. Will be going back 100%
Lovely restaurant but, having made a reservation & arriving on time. Having booked for 2hrs per their terms, we were then told we could only stay for 1:30hrs owing to another booking in our area - not good when this is an expensive restaurant
Pleasant change from dishoom what else can I say !!! Let’s hope they are consistence and deliver this brilliant food in future
Very buzzy place great food amazingly good value for where it is
Great food. Good ambiance. A little on the expensive side, but overall a very enjoyable experience.
The food has always been great here. My favorite is by far the tandoori lamb chops. My only issue with the restaurant is being asked to leave after we were done eating and were socializing with our friends. This would never happen in Paris.
Very nice Indian food in London theatre district. Wonderful Tandoori chicken!
Amazing food, lovely drinks. Good option for children. Exquisite quality meat from the tandoor full of flavour.
Delicious food, served in a cosy and inviting restaurant. Try the lamb chops - melt in your mouth!
Tandoor Chop House is an excellent restaurant. I have been many times. The staff are ultra-friendly and the food never disappoints - it's delicious and always very fresh. I couldn't recommend it more highly.
Really really delicious food, friendly staff, great atmosphere. Excellent for anyone who doesn’t eat meat.
We had a great evening at Tandoor Chop House. Staff were great, food was amazing. Will definitely be returning and recommending to friends.
Food was amazing, service was a little slow. On arriving we were handed our menus and pointed in direction of a table.
Great food, ambience and friendliness. My go to restaurant. Don’t miss the lamb chops!
Good tasty food but I thought the service charge high for the type of restaurant
My only criticism would be the noisy extractor fans, but a small price to pay for the best tandoori food I’ve ever had (that includes 3 months spent in India).
Ambient was extremely dark and impossible to see the meal. Despite being an indian restaurant they do not have rice or meals with mixed sauce as I.e. Masala (typical indian meal). The portions were poor versus high prices per portion. Just chicken tandoori costs 13 pounds with just 5-6 small chicken pieces. For the money paid it is not worth it. The bread Naan also really expensive (2,5 £ per unit). It is the most expensive indian restaurant and with lowest quantities we have tried in London. We decided to go outside and eat some sweets (waffle and crepe) to be fully satisfied. I would recommend other options better than this.
Pros: It was a comfortable restaurant and they gave a good sized table for 5 people and they sat us right on time for our reservation. The food was great we all really enjoyed our meal. Days later and we’re still talking about how good the food was. (Try the truffle cheese naan 🤤)
Cons: The service was upsetting. The server was so rude and made it clear he had better things to worry about. At one point when I asked for a recommendation for a sauce to go with my naan, he got frustrated that there were no “sauces,” YET the menu clearly has a list of “chutneys & sauces.” We had to ask other servers to order drinks and get our check, as he was avoiding eye contact with us.
Nous n'avions jamais mangé indien de notre vie. Arrivés devant la carte nous n'avions aucun idée de quels plats choisir. Mes le patrons est venu nous voir nous a demandé ce que l'on aimé et nous a fait une proposition pour notre repas. Merci encore. Nous avons fait une superbe découverte culinaire
The food is always great here - very different to your typical Indian, but it's so flavoursome and the meat is always cooked to perfection. Cocktails are great, too!
We have eaten at the Chop House many times, fantastic food
we had a confirmed booking, but upon arrival the 'front of house' didn't greet us, hardly acknowledged us, and then pointed to somewhere we could sit until our table became free ( we weren't early but were exactly on time ).
The food was amazing.
There was just a bit too much food on the plate.
The food was tasty but poor value given the service was slap dash and chaotic. The bathrooms were an absolute mess and treated as a storage room.
Wonderful restaurant with amazing food! Top service too
Went here in May and went for lunch last week. The onion rings were great and the lamb chops were absolutely to die for. The dal was also delicious. My husband and I will be coming here every time we come to London.
Food was OKish, food served was not fresh and service was slow.
Overall nit a good place I would recommend with the price they charge for...
Great food and contrary to many reviews, the service was excellent. The food is really quite good, we loved the lamb chops and the truffle naan. Maybe six quid is a bit much for a can of beer but its a restaurant just off Covent Garden for god’s sake (other review). I would definitely go back anytime!
Its true thta some tables are a bit small for greedy people (like us) who ordered loads of dishes!
I am very disappointed with the booking. I pre-booked before a day for 2:45 pm. I called at 1 that we are early can we pop in? The guy said no. When I went to the restaurant, many tables were empty and he was accepting walk in clients. So why he didn’t allow us early? Unprofessional
Terrible service from all staff.
Us: “what are your favourite dishes on the menu”
Waitress: “nothing really, I don’t really like any of it “
Waitress: “kitchen is closing, any last orders”
Us: “yes please”
Waitress walks away for 10 mins comes back
Us: “can we order”
Waitress “kitchen is closed”
Bathroom filthy and overflowing
Tables cleaned with smelly soapy water around us
Lights all turned on to make it clear they wanted us to leave.
I was very keen to try this place but in the end it was very disappointing. The Tandoori chicken was terribly bland, not that succulent, and not what you’d expect the place like this. The dhal was underwhelming and a tandoori duck breast was dry and pretty tasteless. Naan was good but small and I can think of places as expensive , and cheaper, which produce much better dishes. Sorry
The food is superb. Try the truffle nan bread
Very unfriendly front of house.
Great food and friendly waiter but front of house certainly would prevent a return visit.
What a shame the tandoori chophouse had no chops!
We love this place and have been a few times but on the last occasion the food was disappointing, the duck breast was over cooked and not very hot, the broccoli was cold and seemed raw & the smoked aubergine raita, whilst delicious was a tiny tiny amount which is a bit mean. The atmosphere was still good though :-)
Seems to be a habit to visit Tandoor Chop House when we do our annual trip to London at Christmas. The food is always excellent and the atmosphere is always vibrant. I do find the tables too small once you have your mains, plus snacks/starters on the table and then drinks. The staff were very busy but we were served promptly. There needs to be more choice of soft drinks - only Coke if you want a fizzy drink and it's a tiny bottle too for the price. Non-drinkers always seem to be penalised in bars or restaurants, often being charged the same as alcoholic drinks or even more.
Lovely grub but tables are a bit on the small side and it's a challenge getting plates, dishes & drinks all on the table
Black pepper chicken tandoor was awesome. Black Dahl and green chile garlic naan were perfect side dishes.
Emanuel good vibe. Terrific food. Been back a few times always great.
Nice food, well cooked and ambience was lovely - always like to see the chefs! Before sitting down we were told when we had to leave by which is always a frustration. Service compulsory but this was the only thing I felt the evening down - clearing plates before finished etc
