   The braised short ribs have always been my favorite at Tandem with the smokey potato puree and sauce. Service was superb as was the wine feature it made a rainy day sunny inside.

   There was a large party in the side of the restaurant who were definitely enjoying their time at Tandem, we were sat just next to the divide first we thought it was going to be unbearable but honestly it was great to hear people laughing and loving their time together. The table next to us had this amazing steak board, next time we are getting that, our dishes were the Salmon and Eggplant, so flavorful and elegant and portions that allowed us to take some home. Tandem is by far our favorite place in the Triangle.

   We had a lunch catered by Tandem at our department at UNC last week and it was absolutely delicious so we decided to go for lunch to see if we could get the food we ordered. Unfortunately the catering menu is different to the regular menu which upset us to begin with but then when our dishes arrived we were so excited with the outstanding presentation and they tasted divine, not upset anymore. Just means we can come for lunch whenever we want and also order catering to get our fix from that menu. The staff were so nice and accommodating especially with my "friends" allergies.... such a cute place with great food and service. I will be back to check out dinner and brunch very soon.

   The food was wonderful, and they even had a kids' menu, which we really appreciated. However, our server did a remarkably poor job, and seemed like she may have even been intoxicated. Several other servers had to step in to do her job throughout the evening. We could see around us that we weren't the only ones unhappy with her service. Having been a server for many years, I have a lot of compassion for those in the industry, but I expect better from someone employed at a high-end outfit. It was a special occasion that turned into a frustrating experience.

   The wait staff was good. Relaxed atmosphere. Food was generally disappointing. None of the main courses were vibrant in taste, but the presentation was good. Decent restaurant but probably not worth the cost.

    We live really close to Tandem and love that we can walk there and enjoy amazing food and drinks with a smile. I think the salmon is my favorite menu item especially with the delicious curry sauce.

    We decided to celebrate Mothers Day a day late at our favorite restaurant to allow all the invaders of UNC graduation families to go home and let us enjoy our piece of heaven quietly! As a local we do not go out on this weekend EVER!!!!!! We were happy to enjoy the patio at Tandem and their killer burgers and chicken salad. Amazing thank you.

    Great tasting food but too little of it for the price IMHO. Staff was friendly and welcoming. Plenty of tables open on a busy Mother's Day/graduation night suggests the kitchen may be understaffed. Surprised at the $50 per person cancelation fee 48 hours in advance.

    Disappointing. Made reservations for mother's day/grad weekend. $50 pp 48 hour cancellation fee, no notification that menu would be different. Arrived for reservation and menu was less than 1/2 options regular menu and prices nearly double. Couldn't leave without forfeiting $50 pp. Stayed, food way okay but nothing great. Ate at many much better restaurants over grad weekend. Other tables around were making same complaint as people booked based off menu and weren't notified it would be different. 20% gratuity applied for large group - customary, no problem - except for our server. He was clearly upset we did not increase the tip amount. Service was okay, nothing exceptional. Definitely would not waste my time or money here again.

    Went for Mother’s Day. Mistake because we didn’t make sure before going that a 130pm reservation was limited to breakfast items. Brunch time. So it was disappointing. Very noisy. Service was fine. Pleasant waitress. Not sure we would go back.

    We recently visited Tandem for dinner on a graduation weekend. We were disappointed and surprised to see that the prices had been inflated for the weekend, and that the menu was limited. We had no notice of either change, and had we known, we would have called to see if we could cancel our reservation and avoid the $50 per person fee put in place for graduation weekend. Despite the higher prices and limited menu, we had a good meal. The short ribs were as good as we remembered, the chicken was also very tasty and the Japanese eggplant entree was also excellent. We were happy with the service, and our server was attentive. However, we would recommend that diners be aware of the inflated prices and limited menu before making a reservation. I believe customers should be told of special event menu and pricing. I did correspond with the restaurant afterward about my concern and received a quick response with a refund for the difference in the published pricing and the unannounced special event pricing. I hope they change their policy and will let customers know about special event pricing and not assume that customers expect it. Here are some pros and cons of Tandem Restaurant: Pros: Friendly and efficient service Good food Relaxed atmosphere Patio seating Cons: Inflated prices for special events Limited menu on special events No notice of price changes or limited menu

    our waitress hannah was so rude to us and yelled because we only gave her a $5 tip. the table behind us told us later that she was ranting about our poor tip to them which is very unprofessional

    Menu had 5 sandwiches for entrees. Drinks were ok. Food took about 45 minutes for a club sandwich and a brisket sandwich. Tried to cancel reservation due to child being very I’ll, but restaurant indicated a $200 charge for canceling less than 48 hours in advance. Apparently no exceptions for those with contagious viruses. All in all, very poor experience.

    Went to Tandem for Brunch with a group of five girlfriends to celebrate a 40th bday. We had an absolutely wonderful time! Food was delicious…We had a little of almost everything and nothing disappointed! Our server was absolutely delightful and attentive even during the busy Mother’s Day brunch. Would recommend and will certainly be going back!

    Relaxed service and some innovative appetizers, nice cocktails well prepared. My beef short ribs came in fancy Le Crueset covered pan but pan was cool, not warm, so no advantage to just plating on a plate. Prices about twice what is warranted - fine if someone else is paying, but not the best value for best food in town by far.

    Food was delicious, and well presented. My wife had chicken dish and I the beef short ribs. The portions were well adequate and we both ate every morsel served. Capped it off with the cheesecake dessert which made for a perfect ending to a fine meal. We heartily recommend the Tandem restaurant.

    It is an expensive restaurant but that is fine because the food was good. However, I think $10 for a "local" draft beer is a ripoff. It was $9 for a bottle of Fat Tire which is sold in the grocery store sharing the parking lot for close to $9 a sixpack. Just because you are a fancy restaurant with expensive food does not mean that you should rip customers off for a pint.

    Excellent food, A bit overpriced, but very well prepared and presented. We had the cauliflower, warm feta, cheese board, ribs, and lamb skewers. All were excellent. A bit disappointed that instead of the non-alcoholic beer on the menu, were were handed a Budweiser zero for the same price.

    Server was not friendly and pushy, we felt rushed. Appetizers were amazing but the special was mediocre. Flavors of sauce overtaken the fish and anything else that was on a plate. Weird combination Great place so we will be back hoping for different server and better food.

    When arriving to Tandem for our reservation we were told it would have to be canceled due to the fact that there was a wedding event being hosted there. Why we were not contacted sooner, especially since it was our anniversary dinner, is beyond me. I am heavily dissatisfied with the service we were not given and that there was no courtesy to call/email us about the cancellation but instead waited until we arrived made me rate my experience the way I did.
