   We were seated in back by the kitchen. All of our food came at the same time. We ordered guacamole and chips and this was the worse guacamole I have ever had! The chips were stale. We ordered chicken tortilla soup and the soup was potatoes and carrot soup. There was one little piece of shredded chicken. Our salad was terrible with big chunks of stale bread. How disappointing as we had my sister from out of town. We will not go again!

   This review breaks my heart. I’ve been going here since it opened. They have made changes to the menu, which is disappointing, I guess its all about the bottom line. I always order my favorite dish, “Pescado Vera Cruz”. Never had baby spinach on it before. Usually it’s a good filet topped with lots of capers, olives, and tomatoes on top of fluffy white rice. The spinach was so much that it covered the puny filet underneath and the rice was hard and chewy. Tasted like it was from the night before or over-cooked on the bottom of the rice cooker. I feel like the romance is over with Tamarindo. Left bummed out.

   Arrived at 5:30 pm and seated around 5:40. Overall experience was Good. Food was only Fair. Service was Good. Ambiance was Good. Value was Very Good. Noise was Energetic - much too loud, both outside and inside. We dined inside Our food was presented very well and tasted very good. However, it was spoiled because it was served luke-warm. My friend and I sent our food back to be reheated. After a too-long wait our food was brought back to us (obviously new platesfull) but still not as hot as it should have been. Margaritas good. The staff treated us well from the time we arrived to the time we left. While paying our bill our server presented us with a $10 value (discount) card to use the next time we dine there. We will definitely dine there again but with a warning that our food had to be hot when served to us. If we recommend Tamarindo to friends we will warn them to ask that their food be served hot.

   Nothing special. Even though we had reservations, we had the worst seats compared to the people who were in line before us without reservations…they got the nice tables with fire pits. Don’t sit outside if you prefer a dog hair free environment! We went at an off time and the restaurant wasn’t busy. The staff stood around and talked for extended periods of time instead of attending to the customers. We literally watched our server talk to another employee near the bar for 15 minutes when we were trying to get the check. Tacos, guac and carne asada plate weren’t bad but nothing we would seek out again.

   The food and the service were fantastic. Our server Sasha was awesome. We had our dog with us, and found Tamarindo to be super dog friendly- they even have a dog menu! The Tamarindo Margarita was SO delicious and the guacamole was some of the best we’ve ever had. We live super close and Tamarindo will be in our rotation from here on out for sure!

   Our group had an excellent dinner last night at fun and lively Tamarindo. Even a Monday night did not slow down the hi-energy buzzing around this busy but smoothly run restaurant. We had a charming, highly capable and super-friendly server named Rachel who guided us through the extensive menu and kept us entertained throughout. Just the kind of service you hope to have at a popular establishment like this one. Right off the bat, we saw that the cuisine was handled by experienced chefs using the best and freshest ingredients. The salsa and guacamole are usually a good indicator of what to expect--both were spot on delicious - just enough spice and fresh radishes, onions, cilantro, and jalapeño to around the guac to customize to your liking. For our main courses, we had the Carne Asada, Short Rib Tamarindo, Pescado Vera Cruz, Seafood Enchiladas, and we all split the Mexican Elote spears (that shoud not be missed) All our.dishes were absolutely delicious! The plates were beautifully presented and the portions were more than ample. The drinks were creative and tasty. The Tequila Mule a favorite but even the standards like margaritas & mojitos were enjoyed by all. This is a fun place for a group - excellent service. If you sit in Rachel's section on a night she is working, consider yourself very lucky! Don't miss!

    We were early for reservations, but right away were accommodated. from the time we spoke to the hostess to the time our waitress put in our order for drinks and came back with our food order food everything went smoothly. The staff was friendly and efficient. Drinks were great food was great. We will be back.

    We had a reservation for 5 people and were seated at a small table for 4 with a chair on the end. The service was rushed and terrible. The food was mediocre at best. We won’t be back.

    Our party of four dined here last night for my sisters birthday and it was outstanding! When I made the reservation, I mentioned it was my sisters birthday and they set us up right. On the outside patio corner table with fire pit. Perfect ambiance - margaritas were excellent as was the elote appetizer and tacos 🌮 - all delicious. Our server was sweet and knowledgeable and even surprised us with a churros desert with a sparkler on top. Perfect night and we will be back!! 👍

    This is one of my favorite restaurants and the corn is absolutely the best in the world, the food this time however, it was not as good as it has been. In the past the chicken soup was very bland. The shrimp salad was a huge pile of lettuce with a few shrimp, so wasn’t as good as I expected it to be I hope this is helpful

    Visited during a trip to San Diego. Excellent restaurant. The outside seating with ceiling heaters and small table fire heater is super nice and keeps it warm during early spring / fall seasons. Service staff was very courteous and professional. The best part is the food! The menu is limited, but each item is meticulously prepared and delicious! The touch of tamarind to drinks is cool.     This restaurant was amazing. My son is a student at CSUSM and we wanted to have a great Easter experience away from home. The drinks were so good and the meal was just as great. We ordered the fish, shrimp tacos, carne asada plate, carne asada tacos, quesadillas and enchiladas and let me tell you, everything was so tasty and delicious. Our server was also the bartender. She was so good with us and accommodating while also being behind the bar. We look forward to going back and having anther great meal!!

    The food was great the place is nice the drinks are delicious. Just that last time I when for my birthday we told them it was my birthday and they sing happy birthday and brought me a little something with candle this time the waitress dint even acknowledge that we told her we celebrating my birthday. Also never brought us water and we where so thirsty after our alcoholic drinks . Overall all we do love the place we always go there for celebrations.

    The food was excellent! It was our first visit and I was a little disappointed in that I had searched yelp for places with a view and there really isn’t one here BUT the food, the drinks, the service were TOPNOTCH! I love the seasoning on their tortilla chips. 🙂
