We had the 4 course "chefs" selection of goodies for dinner plus an excellent bottle of wine. There are many choices of wine & local fare, some organic & locally grown produce, and a very quiet atmosphere. We not only dined in the evening, but we ate breakfast at Tally's Silver Spoon every day but one - Easter Sunday - as they were closed for the holiday. They offer great creative breakfasts that are not at all "standard fare." A break from the ordinary with some spicy & sassy touches. We would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Rapid City.
We had great expectations, were sadly disappointed. The food was very average. The soup and the chocolate dessert were best items we had. The Buffalo burger was dry and the elk a bit tough. The server was not very personable. We won’t be back.
It was very nice, one of our favorite places to go in Rapid. Food was flavorful and presented nicely.
The food was excellent. The menu is varied and exciting. We always enjoy dinning at Tally's
Wonderful experience all around. AMAZING food! The Indecision Menu is our favorite!
We went there for dinner. There were not many people in Tally's. After a very long wait after ordering our food, we were served. Our food was cold. The elk dish I ordered was almost completely raw. I wasn't even asked how I would like the elk cooked. The chicken in the Alfredo looked fake because it was cut in perfect squares. The bison in the other dish was also almost raw. Overall, not a good experience.
Pretty great place! I would recommend it if you are in Rapid City
The place for foodie lovers delights! Great food and service every time.
Great experience every time! Food & service are both top notch!
I never have a bad experience at Tally's! The servers know the food and do a great job explaining it. They also don't rush you or make you feel rushed when wanting to order appetizers and a drink and then order your meal later. The food is always good. Restaurant week's menu was delicious, although the portions weren't huge. I LOVE the chestnut stuffed pheasant! Overall, I always recommend this place to anyone.
Absolutely my favorite restaurant in the Black Hills. Such great service, and locally owned. Get the indecision menu- you won't be disappointed!
Absolutely love this place. I make sure I come here every time I’m in town. The indecision menu is so much fun and have never had anything I didn’t like!
Fantastic food and service. Drinks were great and reasonably priced for the quality
We did the 3 course indecision menu for dinner one night as well as eating breakfast there twice in our three days in town, it was so good!
The best meal I've had in Rapid City. And I've been to them all.
Outstanding!!! My husband and I are foodies so we let the chef decide what we should try. Every course was unbelievable! The presentation and the flavors were amazing! It's one of the best meals we have had!
Over cooked a simple medium rare piece of over priced bison steak. Salad was ok.
Fantastic menu. The tastes will amaze you. The staff is great. The ambiance is a little lacking but you still can't go wrong by eating here.
Amazing bison Marsala and the mushroom Appetizer is just as tasty. Made sure we went back after eating there a year ago.
Bit of a wait for actual service after being seated, but fine from there out. As out of towners we woyodnt have found this if not for Opentable, glad they were on there.
Can’t really comment on the food. Made reservations on open table and they did not have the number of people correct( had email to confirm my reservation). Then the table we were taken to was outside patio and it was very noisy with all the bikers going by. Then the wait staff who were attending the other three tables completely ignored our presence. There were at least 4 separate servers coming around and we could not even gain their attention. The other tables had drinks but never saw any food brought out in the 20 minutes we waited before we left. It was a Friday night and very busy. Just not a good experience. Very noisy inside. Wait staff was disorganized and disinterested even serving the tables that were being acknowledged. Definitely not a relaxing experience. Went to Ruby Tuesday’s on way out of town and had a good meal and a pleasant waitress
I was quite surprised about the quality of the food. This was a hidden gem.
We ordered the undecided. 3 course chef prepared meal. Beautifully presented and very tasty. Super friendly waiter.
Overall a truly enjoyable meal. We will be back when we are next in the area
Delicious food and wonderful service. I had the Bison, Maytag, Marsala linguini...it was fabulous. My husband had the pork...terrific too. We shared a salad that was very good. The server was very helpful and attentive. I highly recommend Tally’s. A bit pricey, but worth it.
Best restaurant I’ve been to in a very long time! Food and service top notch!! Wish I could remember our servers name, he was great!
Picked the “indecision “ option where it was chef’s choice. We had 4 excellent courses! A must do!!
Overall, good food and great service. Our waiter, Andy, was excellent! We had the Bison Burger, Bison filet and chicken special (for that day), plus the S’mores dessert.
Awesome meal! Service was great!
They were out of quite a few things, including 2 different wines and 1 entree.
I went to celebrate my Aunt's milestone birthday. We are both adventurous eaters and had the 4 course indecisive menu with wine pairings. Our waiter was very good at explaining everything to us and the food was outstanding. The young man that placed our silverware for every course did a great job too. I wished I lived closer and we would do this every month.
Great food chefs!
Great service Nick!
Surprised that they don’t require servers to wear masks
We had the chipotle burger and Rueben sandwich . Delicious high quality food cooked to perfection. Loved the ambience. Social distance is observed at all times. Highly recommend this restaurant.
Food was good especially native bison. Service was a little slow but waitress was good about handling ot
They were out of the item I wanted to order, didn’t seem to care about that. Our food was just ok. The bison was chewy. My portions were on the small side. The food was expensive and the service felt rushed.
Food was delicious! The peri peri chicken could have used a bit of sauce but the pork flank was EXCELLENT. Great service too.
The Bun, Fois Gras, quinoa salad, horchata dessert are amazing. The Elk tartar less so. Great place for a meal and a drink
We’ve heard good things about it from others, so when we grabbed the opportunity when we were in SD. Everything was outstanding. The five of us enjoyed our various dinners immensely. The mushroom appetizer is incredible!
We need gluten free due to Celiac Disease and Tally’s has it all. Their breakfast is amazing and so was the dinner. 5 stars for
Gluten free!
Food was good, service terrible. Couldn’t even get a glass of water in a timely manner.
We had reservations and were left standing at front of restaurant without even an acknowledgement for 10 minutes. We finally got a table and then waited 15 minutes for water and a server. It was over an hour for our food to be served and we had very simple foods. Not a busy night at all tables open all over the place. To top off the experience one of the dishes we ordered was cold.
A fantastic meal from start to finish. Mussels, Pasta Carbonara and Hallibut all delicious.
