We try to find local restaurants when in new areas, Tilly’s caught our eye. Blueberry Bison - presentation was great, steak good, but for the price was expecting exceptional, it fell short. Bison Maytag Marsala - the plate came out cold & pasta undercooked. Sent it back, came back warm but pasta was still tough. The steak was flavorful, but the overall dish had a heavy beef base that masked any other flavors. A disappointment. Note there is no full bar; beer & wine only. This will be a pass for use when we return to the area.

Beyond delicious! The Bison Maytag Marsala Mushroom pasta was one of the best, most memorable dishes I've ever eaten - right up there with Chef Jose Andres!!! I absolutely recommend Tally's Silver Spoon and, although I live about 1,000 miles away, I will be looking forward to a return visit as soon as possible.

My boyfriend and I went to Tally’s for Birthday celebration which was noted on our resy. No mention of birthday by anyone at the restaurant. They were out of the Sancerre avail by the glass. We ordered the fries right away and shockingly they were the best thing we ate. We had the curry mussels (good), the cowboy salad (?)…. Grilled romaine and radicchio in a caper lemon vinaigrette. It took me about 5-7 minutes to cut it up w the bread knife and salad fork I was given. I would have asked Hannah if she could have the kitchen chop it for us but she was too busy serving other guests. The gumbo was over-cayenned. Sea bass was unseasoned and fishy tasting. The bison had great flavor but was fairly tough…. The rhubarb sauce was excellent. Asparagus was pencil lead thin and wilted and over cooked. Walked away super disappointed. Lack of detail from the food to the service. Doubt we will retry. 😕

This experience at Tallys was not enjoyable at all. First of all the seating is intimate to say the least. We were sat on the far left directly next to another couple but there was an empty table to our left. The booths along the window were also empty so I don’t get it. Our server took a while to even come to our table. We ordered a bottle of wine then she disappeared. She walked around to a table outside twice then eventually came back in and informed us she had to go downstairs to get it. The whole ordeal took 20 minutes alone. We quickly ordered one appetizer and our entrees. Another 40 minutes passed and we finally got our appetizer. We again began to wait- we finally asked her what was going on. It has never taken this long. She asked us if we wanted something else while we waited ? Like what? Maybe some bread or something we should have been offered 40 minutes ago?? Mind you she did keep pouring wine in our glasses but it wasn’t enjoyable because I like to drink wine with my meal and at that rate I wouldn’t have had any left. Our meals finally arrived well after an hour and they were like warm at best. I ordered the bison he ordered the secreto pork. These were two exceptionally bland meals. My bison was cold and the two asparagus spears were like tree trunks. The Johnny cakes were totally tasteless and cold. There was very little sauce on the plate. The pork was also bland but at least it was warm. Our waitress had disappeared again and I just wanted the check and to leave as I didn’t eat my dinner and was still hungry. The manager came by and asked if everything was fine and we let her know it wasn’t. She asked if we wanted the entrees taken off. We said no. She said our server needed more training. Having eaten here several other times it is hard to believe it is the same restaurant I loved. Now if I waited that long and the food was it’s normal quality I would have been fine. However, it was overall awful and very costly. Utterly disappointed.

Great little spot. Went on Sunday at 5pm. Only had apps and bread with brown butter. Octopus and bison meatball both very good. Wine was 2 for 1 and it was from The wine list -ie not “house” wine.

Requested a special table/gesture as we were celebrating our anniversary. The staff didn’t even wish us. Got a tiny space in a corner. Food was basic. Would not recommend to celebrate any special occasion with them.

Most of what we had was very good, but don’t order the $57 halibut, as they don’t know how to cook fish. Maybe a bad day, but that just killed my dinner. I had a glass of white Sancerre and would suggest they change the brand if they keep serving Sancerre. Service was excruciating slow, but the atmosphere was good. My 5 year old grand son, however, got a little impatient as nothing happened for a long time. Go there with no expectations, no little kids, and don’t waste your money on the fish. Also, try the wine before ordering. You may then enjoy dinner there.

In regards to my salad, there was way too much dressing on it. I really liked the vinaigrette dressing but I don’t like my greens swimming in it. I guess I should’ve asked for the dressing on the side. I ordered the French dip for dinner. And that was very delicious.

I was researching restaurants for our Rapid City vacation and found Tally’s. When I saw the Undecided menu option, my wife snd I had to try it. The food choices as well as the wine pairing were spot on. Service was fantastic. It was one of the best experiences in our trip.

Lovely meal. Husband had the French dip which was okay, but not stellar. I had the Pasta Carbonara, which is excellent. We shared the chocolate whiskey cake & it was messy, but good. The service was excellent. The 3.5% “Living wage” added cost was a real turn off. Just charge me more! I felt like I had gone out for a nice dinner & was being lectured.

We had a great experience here. Our server was attentive, helpful in making selections and had just the right humorous touch. He went above and beyond by offering to move us to a quieter table when a loud group got seated next to us. The food was equally impressive - gorgeous presentation and everything was delicious - spring salad, soft shell crab app, duck 3 ways and Marsala, mushroom, bison pasta. If I lived in Rapid City I would be a regular!

My husband ordered the Bison Maytag Marsala Mushroom Pasta and absolutely loved it. He said it was unique and delicious. The rest of us ordered more ordinary dishes but thought our food was delicious as well. The restaurant is on the smaller side but it felt local and quaint which we enjoyed. Our server was really nice and good to get us anything that was needed.
