Slow kitchen, incredibly noisy, oblivious staff, and undercooked food.
Food was average and the service was terrible. Took a long time to get drinks and food was warm, not hot. It took 2 1/2 hours for two burgers and a dessert. Very noisy.
My husband and I visited the restaurant for dinner recently while staying across the street at the Alex Johnson Hotel, and we really enjoyed our meal. The restaurant had a surprisingly sophisticated menu, well-executed, with attentive and helpful service. We split the foie gras, carne rib eye plate, and S’more dessert. Portions were more than adequate to split. The atmosphere is cozy, but not too loud. I definitely worth the visit!
We had a good experience at Tally's but not a memorable one. The food was OK. They have live music on certain days. The musician was good but a bit loud when trying to carry on a conversation. There are better options in RC.
Good food and even better service. It was very noisy--Friday night, which was a shame since they had a nice music group but could not really hear them.
My wife and I are vegan as she has had a couple of heart attack, they had several Items on the menu for us to choose from I shows the chose the vegan cheese pasta. I want to tell you it was excellent.
What a terrific experience here at Tally’s Silver Spoon. My husband and I were traveling in South Dakota and staying in Rapid City. The restaurant was located directly across the street from our hotel. We both love to try new restaurants and Tally Silver Spoon checked every box for us! Terrific food and wine list, and service. The menu reflects the quality of food and the chefs ability to create so many interesting choices. What a great find in Rapid City!
The indecisive menu is amazing and a must do! The service was amazing!
Fantastic food and service! We highly recommend Tally's Silver Spoon if you are anywhere near Rapid City, SD
Salty food. Tasteless Reuben
Loved the hipster salad! Delicious.
High class meals in a casual setting for reasonable prices. Highly recommend the venison loin.
French tourists from French Riviera very happy to taste their first buffalo meat in Wyoming. Good music in addition, it was a very good experience,
Always a fun place to go for either appetizers and wine, dinner and even breakfast and lunch. Service terrific and personal. The downside is always the noise level...it can be difficult to have a conversation.
We had a great dinner with Family and Friends for my birthday. The food was amazing and the server was pleasant and attentive.
We were there for happy hour and were able to sample a couple of the wines before making our selection. We had the caprese salad. It was the best we have ever had! The tomatoes were incredible! For our entree we shared the buffalo filet, which was good, but the vegetables it sat on were even better! It came with a choice of soup or salad. Their soup was a cream of mushroom, which was delicious, but too rich with everything else. I would definitely recommend this restaurant!
My husband and I treated ourselves to the five course Indecision menu after a week of hiking and camping in the area. The food was great, although I wished there were recommended wine pairings to purchase for each course, and I wished that one of the five courses was dessert. The waitress was friendly but unfamiliar with the dishes being served, and often failed to describe the dishes accurately or bring the proper utensils for a given course. Our reservation was for 8p and although we didn’t linger over our meal by any means (we were hungry, and therefore ate quickly!) we felt somewhat rushed in that they were shutting the place down as our fifth course was being served, and the bill was presented prior to being asked if we would like any dessert, after dinner drinks, or coffee. The noise level was moderate, and the tables are extremely close together. In our case, this was fine, as we enjoyed chatting with the couple next to us in between their courses (same Indecision menu/timing).
Great food as expected. The mussels for an appetizer are some of the best we have ever experienced. Excellent service and local musician was outstanding!
The Indecision menu was a delightful surprise! Delish!
Had a date night while on vacation. Loved the staff and the food was wonderful. My husband was there for breakfast every morning and we had dinner twice. Can’t wait to come back to SD and eat there again
Unique and delicious! Eating here was a treat! I recommend the indecision menu if you want to try things you never would have otherwise.
Brought our friends from Nebraska here for the indecision menu experience... it didn’t disappoint! So fun to enjoy with hubby and/ or friends.
Food, as always, was amazing. Service was lacking- we (husband and I) arrived at the time of our reservation, seated immediately, and our waitress arrived shortly thereafter to pour us water. We were still looking over the wine menu so she said she would return in a few minutes to take our drink orders. It was relatively busy so when a few minutes had gone by without seeing her, we didn’t think much of it, but after 2 minutes we were actively trying to flag her down. She was putting in orders at a nearby wait station, and tending tables directly next to us. Finally got her attention, and we were able to place our orders. We have encountered this same situation at our last two dining experiences here and sometimes poor service isn’t worth amazing food. Sorry Tally’s, we won’t be back for awhile.
