Named the 2016 and 2017 Best Beer Bar in Kansas by the Brewers Association and Craftbeer.com, the Tallgrass Tap House is an 11,000-square-foot brewpub located at 320 Poyntz Ave. in the historic, revitalized downtown district of Manhattan, Kansas.

Blending a modern, comfortable aesthetic with rustic accents, the Tap House has indoor seating for 200 and outdoor seating for 50 on a rooftop deck overlooking downtown toward the Flint Hills. At the core of the Tap House is a 10-barrel brewhouse that produces a rotating lineup of a half-dozen craft brews, featured on tap alongside several other guest craft-seasonals and specialty beers.

The Tap House accepts limited reservations for parties of 6 guests to 20 guests; otherwise, we have plenty of seats for your party!

Overall love the place and food , just wish the server knew more about the food/drinks and or helped with making choices especially if we bring new people to dine. I also found it annoying how I wanted to order a cherry on top , but I can only order it if I was seating on the roof top?

We enjoyed our dining experience. We were seated promptly and our waiter was attentive. He took care of us, but not overly so. Our drinks were delicious (especially my Bloody Mary). We ordered burgers which were cooked to perfection and delicious. It was an enjoyable evening.

We went to Tap House on a Friday to enjoy dinner out before Gameday. The menu was changed since I’d been there, and I’d say the food was even better than before. Everyone in our 10-person party loved their meal—from the Korean dishes to the Cobb salads to the turkey and avocado sandwiches. And the sweet potato fries were a favorite! The service was excellent. Very attentive, very pleasant. And then the Kstate band came by for the “pub crawl” and that topped it all off! Definitely recommend the TapHouse👍

The staff was outstanding from start to finish. We had a small graduation gathering in the ice box room. It was just perfect. Our server was attentive and helpful and knew all the beers back and forth. One of our guests has severe food allergies and they went above and beyond to make sure she was safe. We had a cake delivered from Bourbon and Baker and Tall Grass did a great job cutting, serving and boxing leftovers. Super nice people and the food was delicious and varied- something for everyone.

This restaurant is in a Prime downtown location and has a great dining room, roof deck and patio seating. Their drink menu is impressive and has something for almost everyone, not just beer lovers. Our group really enjoyed the appetizers and wish we would have stopped with drinks and starters. The main dishes were as advertised but didn't wow as much as the apps. Service was attentive and prompt, but the kitchen was very backed up during our visit, delaying the arrival of the apps by about 45 minutes and our mains by an additional 30. If you are in a hurry, this is not your place, but if you have time to linger over drinks, it is very enjoyable.

Overall experience was great. Excellent choice for a Valentine's dinner. Partner's chicken sandwich was perfect, she can't eat a whole lot but it was so good she finished it. I got one of the special's, the Snapper, and it felt underwhelming, which is why I gave four stars for food and value. The piece of snapper I got was small when the price was a bit higher, and the way that it was prepared was a bit tough to eat. It was also the only thing to eat on the plate. Our appetizer, though, was fantastic, the pork lettuce wraps. It was fun to build our own food and have a lot of flavors to choose from (my girlfriend and I kept commenting about how good the carrots were.) The chocolate cake for dessert was probably the best dessert I have ever had from a restaurant. The coffee ice cream on top sent it over the edge. Considering all foods, four stars is appropriate. Other than that, the service was great, checked up on us enough but weren't bothersome. She noticed when our water was low and brought us new glasses without interrupting. She was very nice and welcoming. The atmosphere promoted a good conversation but our words weren't drowned out from other noise. We didn't feel like we had to whisper or yell. Overall, a great experience at Tallgrass Tap House and I have already recommended to family and friends.

We stopped here when we were visiting Colbert Hills GC. Their chicken wings were a little dry but other that the food was great. Beer was good. Great service. We will stop by here again and hopefully sit on the rooftop and try a couple more beers.
