Best meal we had while visiting Bardstown! The shepherd's pie was delicious! Our waitress was great. Be sure to make reservations, it's a very popular spot!

I hate to write a bad review, I really do, but our food and the ambience in the restaurant were just awful. We could not wait to get out of there. Spider webs covered in black dirt hung from the ceiling, chair rails were pulled from the wall exposing the inner parts (and dust) of the wall, and outdated wallpaper was peeling from the walls in the room we sat in. The food tasted as if it was just unloaded from the back of a Sysco truck. The quality of the food was extremely poor and it was not well prepared. I watched our server walking around the room casually talking to co workers while stirring a half filled cocktail she held in her fingers by the tip of the cocktail straw, and then watched in horror as she delivered it to our table. It was my drink. Several local people warned us that Talbot Tavern had gone downhill, but we had made a reservation and wanted to honor it. It’s an interesting historical building, but if you want to see it, maybe just go for a glass of wine or something.

We had a wonderful dinner at Talbott Tavern! I had the hot brown which I always try when I find them on a menu and this one was the best I have ever had. My son had the NY Strip and it was cooked perfectly which is hard to find when ordering medium rare. The atmosphere was perfect in the old pub, service was very fast and our server was wonderful!

The atmosphere was great and the cocktails were very good. The food was very good except for the Shepherds Pie which was very heavy. All the other meals were excellent.

OUR STAY AT THE INN WAS AWESOME. WE WLL DEFINITELY COME BACK AND STAY A FEW MORE DAYS👍 OUR DINNER AND VISITS TO THE BOURBON BAR WERE VERY ENJOYABLE AS WAS OUR COMPLIMENTARY BREAKFAST. OUR SERVERS AND BARTENDERS WERE OUTSTANDING.

Food was good, historic tavern great. Very loud area and hard to hear our conversation with talking loudly.

Love the whole atmosphere and vibe! The food was pretty good. I had the bourbon glazed pork chop, mashed potatoes, and salad. My wife had the bourbon chicken, mashed potatoes, and burgoo. The pork chop tasted great but was pretty small. Luckily, my wife's chicken portion was huge, so I ate some of hers. The only negative was that they had one server working the entire room, and I saw a couple different tables get up and leave because they had not been waited on. It wasn't the server's fault. Management should have the room staffed properly. One person can't handle eight tables at a time, and some were large parties. The server was great, though, and unnecessarily apologetic.
