Table 79 Ratings and Reviews
Made reservation based on nice reviews on Trip Advisors and we were not disappointed. My partner n I ordered the Moroccan Pork Butt with greens n cous cous for two which was outstanding. The waitress was excellent n had the owner n GM both came by to say hello . We leaned from the owner he owns another fine dining restaurant In Steamboat Springs n in Breckinridge which I understand are excellent also . Highly recommend this place for excellent food service in a casual setting .
This is the first time my husband and I visited Table 79. The restaurant was surprisingly quiet, given the seating format. Normally, my husband has a hard time hearing in restaurants where the bar is open to the regular dining area.
We each had the salmon chowder and it was very good. We shared the braised pork shoulder and it was very good as well. The most expensive item on the menu was the Flatiron Steak which was listed at $44. When I asked the waitress the size of the steak, she said it was, "about 6oz". I'm not sure if that was accurate because that would be pretty expensive for a 6oz flatiron. We were already enjoying our pork, so I wasn't going to order it anyway, but I thought that was pretty odd.
The desserts were a bit of a dissapointment. I had the flourless chocolate torte and my husband had the apple beignets. The torte did not taste fresh and the globby chocolate sauce did not improve its taste or appearance. The beignets were better, but not great. The liquid desserts looked interesting, so maybe we should have gone with those.
Overall, it was a nice night and I would go back and recommend Table 79 to others
The service and the specially the food was outstanding. We were for 5 days 4 nights in Steamboat and every night went out to dine at various high rated restaurants, from all of them this one takes the prize to the best dinner, great ambiance, the servers are very attentive and checking on you constantly.
The Moroccan shoulder pork was Omazing, same as the brussel sprouts and corn bread.
We vacation every year to steamboat to ski so next year we are definitely coming here again.
Table 79 is one of the best restaurants in Steamboat Springs. We had the Moroccan Pork for two and it was outstanding. If you desire a quieter atmosphere, this restaurant can be loud. My recommendation would then be Cafe Diva. Regardless, Table 79 remains one of my top choices for a nice dinner out on the town. You will not be sorry!
The menu was limited in choices. Disappointed not to see any classics such as scallops or filet.
We ordered a bottle of Red Zinfandel. It was moderately priced at $75/bottle and was good.
Poached Pear salad and the ceviche appetizer were both prepared well.
Entrees were definitely lacking.
Obvious use of quality ingredients, however very little flavor depth, seasoning or creativity from the chef.
Fish (stripped bass I believe) Cooked well. No contrasting flavors, way too much cilantro..
Short rib was dry and desperately needing sauce, which was not severed. Roasted root vegetables were delicious.
Not inspired to try any desserts.
Overall in my opinion:
Ambiance- welcoming and comfortable
Staff- prompt and helpful
Food- under seasoned and overpriced
We arrived in time for the Happy Hour 1/2 $ Apps & drink selections ripe to dinner.
I ordered Shrimp Ceviche & the Roasted Red beet dip as Apps for 2. The shrimp was good, not under or over cooked, yet it lacked the acidity of Ceviche’. My opinion is that more lime or lemon along with a bit of Jalapeño, Scotch Bonnet...would have brightened & livened it up. Also too many red onions. The beet dip was an earthy & interesting choice.
The short rib entree was delicious! Just the right amount of sodium. Very flavorful sauce & tender meat! Mine however, was received basically at room temp. I prefer hot off of the heat.
My husband enjoyed the Elk / Chorizo meatballs. Very lean and a bit spicy. The potatoes wedges we’re a good accompaniment.
As a whole the staff was attentive & efficient. They accommodated our seating request and via Open Table our Res. was waiting.
Got off to a rocky start with food item. But made up for it with extra service and tried to make things right with personal visit from the chef. Food was excellent. Portabella fries are THE BOMB. Went back in for drinks the next night and were very nice again. Will definitely go back.
We had tried Table 79 right after it opened replacing our favorite Steamboat restaurant Bistro CV. Our first experience was OK but we hadn't been back. We were blown away on this visit. The food, the service, the welcoming attitude of the entire team was outstanding. We loved it so much we are going back tonight.
Our last visit was for a birthday dinner in shoulder season. Just like its sister-restaurant, Aurum, the staff was friendly and attentive-just right. All of the menu selections were interesting and definitely unique but pretty pricey. I had the Teres Major steak and my wife ordered striped bass, both of which were nicely presented and very good. Our pear salad and Portobello fries were excellent, too. It is not a quiet environment but the noise level is a "fun energy" kind of noise, not just loud noise. Definitely not an intimate place for quiet conversation. The bar, dining room, food bar are all distinct seating areas and together with the furnishings and lighting they give the space a very comfortable feel-I really like the ambiance. At full price I feel like you definitely get what you pay for at Table 79 -it's fairly expense-but it's NICE. Since our last visit was in shoulder season the entrees were discounted 50% and I felt like we got a real bargain. we made a reservation but in shoulder season we did not not need it. In high season you definitely will. I highly recommend it and we will go back.
Dined at Table79 with friends (there were 4 of us) and although we like the food & decor, it's loud. Can be difficult to hear your friends just across the table, so we may come earlier or later next time. Portabello Fries are SUPER yummy. Waitstaff was attentive and wine recommendation by server was excellent. Entrees were very tasty (2 of us had Pan Seared Scallops & Shrimp, 1 had the Duck Confit & Pappardelle Pasta), and 1 ordered a salad & small plate instead of an entree. Thai Shrimp Salad was yummy but the Tuna Poke had way too much citrus and looked "pre-made"...the texture of the rice was more like tapioca. Not sure if that was the intention or not, so we won't order that again, but we'll be back. : )
