Delicious and creative food. Brenna provided excellent fine-dining level service. There is a cute bar next door where they were playing live music. Overall a great date-night experience.
Very, very slow service. Drinks took 45 minutes. It took an hour for our server to come back to say they were our of one of our entrees. My fish was supposed to come with broccoli. Not on my plate. When questioned about it our server said it was not on the menu. When we pointed it out, she said, oh sorry. At no time we’re we offered another drink. It was not even busy. Because it took 15-20 minutes to get any attention, we got up to leave to signal we were ready to go. I think they may have been short staffed in the kitchen.
Food and service were great. I would highly recommend Swens.
Short Rib was overcooked. 4 carrots for $12. Bacon on 1/8th head of lettuce for salad was burned. Great waitress, food disappointing.
We made a reservation, drive there and they informed us upon arrival the reservation was canceled due to COVID. Would have been easy and nice to be informed prior.
I highly recommend Swens. The food was great and the staff was very friendly! It is probably the best value in Alta.
We always look forward to eating at Swen’s. The food is tasty and the ambiance can’t be beat!
Table for 2 is 4 feet across, I felt like I was sitting closer to someone I was not having even having dinner with. Not at all intimate as we had to talk loudly just to hear each other because of the distance between us. Very limited menu for a high end resort hotel. Pork chops? Schnitzel? The carrot appetizer that was highly recommended was grossly undercooked and very tough. Service was nice and friendly. Slightly understaffed as most places are currently. Decor and ambiance were overall very nice. They certainly need to up their game with a more diverse menu to include several seafood entrees, a couple of red meat entrees (maybe even elk or bison) as well as an interesting poultry entree. Appetizers were limited as well.
Beautiful setting, great food, good selection of wine/spirits, wonderful service. We will be back!
The food was delicious but very salty. My husband and I had the Halibut and it was very flavorful and perfectly cooked but salty.
We reserved a 7:45 p.m. slot in hopes of achieving a more intimate dining experience, and it was just that! The food and service was fantastic, and we will absolutely be returning.
Great service by Connor!
A group of 10 met for dinner at Swen’s following an outing in Little Cottonwood Canyon. Swen’s is a great mountain setting. Our server was wonderful. However, we were disappointed with the quality of our food. In particular, the halibut was over-cooked and dry and the braised short rib while tender also was dry. Finally, a bottle of wine was not available which took a long time to determine. Given the elegance that Snow Pine Lodge is seeking to achieve, we found the quality of the food at Swen’s lacking.
The service was amazing and the food was fantastic! It’s always a treat to go!
The best kept secret in Utah. Such a good place to eat
Great anniversary dinner at Swens. Food was great and service was fine. Not rushed. We had spare ribs and halibut. Both were delicious. Craft cocktails were outstanding!
Menu was different than what they had on their website, so that was frustrating. The food was sub par for price and there were bugs flying everywhere…landing on our food, in our drinks. We kept having to bat them away.
I was able to make a reservation on Open Table for 2 at 11:00 am only to get up there and find out they are closed during that time. Nobody bothered to let us know. The girl at the front desk was rude and snarky when letting me know they are closed during that time. Hopefully nobody else drives up the canyon to have that happen. Terrible experience.
Had reservations. Drove an hour to get there. First they said we didn’t have a reservation. I showed reservation. Manager laughed at us and said 2 hr wait even with reservation. I said can you just sit us down as there were a lot of empty seats. He laughed and said too bad. What a rude place. I’ll never go there again.
Upon being seated we were told that the main chef had quit and that they had been short staffed for the past couple weeks. The waiter did what he could to be positive about the dining experience; however, the available menu items were about three and even at that, not all the food ingredients were in stock. We tried laughing it off, and made do with the circumstances, but in the end, the restaurant really should have closed their doors until they were properly staffed. We ended up paying for a full meal in which we received only a portion of it, and yet eat food we didn't want. It would take a very solid recommendation from a trusted source to get us back to try again.
Buffet was not stocked. Never brought out new bowls. Food was okay. Way overpriced for what you get.
They are been out of food two times I’ve been here . They don’t seem to be keeping up with the people coming back After covid . When they only offer a few things on the menu , they should be shifting .
Very slow food arrival. Dirty water glass. Skimpy bread serving and very slow. It appeared that the restaurant wasn’t ready to open….unprepared.
This was the worst food I’ve ever had. My first bite into the egg hash was met with a mouthful of eggshells. The rest of the food lacked flavor. The shrimp tasted like rubber. My teenage son who will eat anything said it was the most disgusting food he’d ever had. I never leave reviews but I had to on this one. I still can’t believe I paid $50 a plate for one of the most disgusting meals of my life. I will never go there again.
Wedding - the venue was beautiful the good great .
Loved our experience at Swens. Beautiful atmosphere with awesome views, excellent service from our waiter Conner. The food was delicious, we had the halibut, smoked brisket and steak dinners and we loved every bite of each. So good!
Great ambience and beautiful views. Except if you have kids under the age of two I would not recommend because you will be charged kid prices.
We have been here a couple of times now while staying at the resort and service is consistently slow. It’s better at dinner than other times of the day, however. Don’t expect to be offered refills or checked on at all. At breakfast this morning we saw our waiter one time when he took our order and once when he brought the check and it took 35 minutes to get our avocado toast. Food is pretty mediocre for the price.
Swens has amazing food and a beautiful view while eating. One of our favorite places.
Mother’s Day brunch. The service was great as was the food!
Great service, food, fun getaway from the kids for a few hours.
The service was excellent by Mary Elizabeth. The dood
Really amazing food and great atmosphere. Would 10/10 recommend.
Thank you for taking the time to review our restaurant. We hope to see you again soon!
I had never been back up that far in Alta before and this is a real gem! We had Valentines dinner here and everything was great. The food, service and setting were all on point. I would definitely go back!
Thank you for reviewing our restaurant! We are thrilled that we could make Valentine's Day special for you. We look forward to serving you again soon!
Very classy, but rustic atmosphere. Excellent food and service. Great dining option for Little Cottonwood Canyon.
We are glad you enjoyed your experience at our restaurant. We hope to serve you again in the near future!
realy great food! great service! Great atmosphere!
We appreciate you taking the time to review our restaurant. We look forward to serving you again in the future!
As usual the dining experience at Swen’s was special. The hardest part on a 3 day stay is selecting each evening from the amazing menu what to eat Too many excellent choices!!
The pasta dish is definitely a must-have, as is the Snowpine Greens salad too. The berry cobbler was our favorite dessert of the stay....and there’s always another day on the ski slopes tomorrow to work off the calories :)
5-star service and cuisine all the way!
Thank you for your compliments on the Swen's menu! We look forward to your next stay at Snowpine!
