Sweetfire Kitchen - La Cantera Resort and Spa
Good food, nice ambiance, service was fast but not top notch.
it was good the food variation was not as varied as I would have liked. No veggies noted
La Cantera is a hidden treasure in San Antonio. Full hill country feel but very assessable from town. Several in my party had the brunch buffet and loved it. OUTSTANDING service. Seriously over the top service. Waitress exceeded expectations in every way.
We went on Christmas Day and they were out of so many food items that were supposed to be available on the buffet. Sadly, they didn’t replace or replenish the entire time our family was there. The cost was too high for the experience and lack of selection that we expected. Our server however, was kind.
Wonderful experience! Caroline was our server and not only was she very attentive but kind. She (with the assistance of the cook) made out experience exceptional by accommodating or pickiest eater (a 5yr old). It made our Christmas Day perfect.
Greeting immediately and seated shortly afterwards. Kind and courteous. Smiles on all the staff. Encouraged to try different stages of food. Would definitely visit again. Super service
Didn't know it was buffet only due to the holiday....but our server went the extra mile to have a pizza made for my autistic brother so THANK YOU
The food was delicious and the service was excellent! I liked that it wasn’t the typical busy, noisy restaurant setting. I will definitely be returning.
Service was poor on a very dead night. Server forgot our drink order, appetizer order and incorrectly entered our entree order. Then the server up sold a bottle of wine w/o telling us the price WAS DOUBLE the cost of what we picked.
We attended the Grinch brunch and it was absolutely amazing!! The food was perfect and the attention to detail was incredible. My kids loved it- a new Christmas tradition!!
Thanksgiving buffet. Had it been better executed it would have been good. Pate on the charcuterie was great. Pasta station was poorly executed. Took the pasta back twice because it was cold. Creamed horseradish for the prime rib had very little horseradish and tasted mainly of cream.. Prime rib was cold. Raclette station shut down early. Oysters and shrimp on the seafood station were good but plates on which to put the cold shrimp cocktail and raw oysters were ridiculously hot. We had better experiences in past years. As executed not worth the cost.
My 25yr. old son and I visiting from Illinois both thought our Thanksgiving adventure to San Antonio would sacrifice the traditional family gathering holiday mood, but we were wrong. Sharing a beyond expectation meal with so many happy and pleasant families/staff actually made our Thanksgiving perfect.
Thanksgiving dinner. But need to serve pumpkin pie!!!!
The noise level was unacceptable for a large event like Thanksgiving brunch. All other aspects of the restaurant were very good to excellent. Due to the noise level I won't go back.
AMAZING experience for a personal, decadent, and scrumptious Thanksgiving meal. Every food we lobbed on our plates was delicious and light. We left with satisfied tummies but not over fed, we tried every food and it was not a heavy meal. The cooks were friendly and were open to any questions as well as were making rounds to see how much their dished were being enjoyed. If we are in town next year, this will be our Thanksgiving spot for sure!
We weren’t able to eat here when we showed up because it was closed for a private party.
Everything we ordered was delicious! Excellent margaritas, crab cakes, entrees and desserts!
Mediocre food, expected more from a high end resort.
The food was not as good as last year and the service was not that great either.
Service was very good and the facility is nice. Gluten free crust on the pizza was not good, wasn’t completely cooked. Overall value for what I paid for the total meal was just ok.
Food was ok. Very expensive and not worth the price. I rather go out and eat somewhere else then to dine in the resort. Also the menu didn't have much options either. That's why I strongly suggest eating somewhere out of the resort
We had a great meal at sweetfire. The resort grounds are beautiful, it was nice to walk around the lobby and back lawn area before dinner. We self-parked for free. We were seated right away with our reservation on a Sunday evening. Service was quick. We enjoyed our food, but did think it was a little overpriced for a nice casual meal. I guess that’s what you get at a nice resort though. We enjoyed our peach cheesecake too! We will hopefully be back another time.
The website in no way indicated that they only have a buffet on Sundays, so I arrived to discover my only option was the buffet. It was $45 a person for really mediocre food. This reminded me of a souped up Holiday Inn breakfast. Would not have come had I known it was a buffet, and I feel completely ripped off for the sub par food quality.
We came for Sunday Brunch....Mark was fantastic and the food choices were out of this world!!!!
Nothing really impressed us. Food was good, not great. Need more selection. Ordered a mixed drink and didn't get. Reminded wait staff when brought food.
Our server Emilia
The service was great and the meal was delicious!! We would highly recommend it!
Not too bad.... I'd go back. Go eat at 8pm, and enjoy the Fiesta Texas fireworks at 9:30pm.
The food was not fresh or hot. The service wasn’t great, it seemed like we were bothering her. $24 for that continental breakfast was ridiculous. I could have gotten hot fresh food at the Holiday Inn. Will not recommend.
The service was impeccable and all our dishes were excellent. Our waiter was very attentive and answered our questions along with helping make recommendations. We could not have asked for a better experience’
Bella was absolutely fantastic also the new girl on crepes was friendly and accommodating
Great service and great food!
I made reservations in advance for our anniversary, it was never acknowledged by hostess or waiter. Service was awful, staff was indifferent at best. We just spent a weekend at the resort with our family and spent a lot of money there, but no one seemed concerned about making us feel welcome or comfortable. Waited extensively for high chair that we had to ask for several times. Flies outside are rampant. Too bad because food is good.
People were nice. Food was decent, speed was terrible. 20 minutes to get 2 wine glasses, 40 minutes for a gin and tonic. At one point they told us they ran out of utensils. They served us our desert and then took 5 more minutes for forks. You don’t tease people like that.
It was a very refreshing atmosphere the staff was simply amazing. They offer a wide range of options and the overall experience was nothing less than amazing!
Way overpriced. $70 and didn’t include mimosas. Not offered juice. $11 to valet was higher than equivalent places. Better brunches in town.
Went again this year for mother's day. At $70 a plate for adults it's not cheap, but not do you get your money's worth. Take your time and enjoy as much as you an. Wait staff is awesome as well. Small suggestion, a brunch buffet without pancakes is just not right. Crepes are no substitute. Lol. That small gripe aside, amazing. We came here last what for the same and it was just as well done.
The food was excellent and the service matched. Due to being a resort the noise level was a little high, but would still highly recommend.
