Local couple for Thursday nite date night. Our server Karl was absolutely phenomenal. Thanks Karl for a wonderful event!!
The service was good, but the food was pricey and blah. Started out with sweet cornbread, but center was cold. Ordered the bbq Shrimp and grits, the bbq sauce made it taste weird, had to remove it to eat it. Husband ordered the burger and truffle fries, the kitchen sent regular fries and had to correct it. We will not be dining here again.
The service got 3 starts because I ordered corn bread as an appetizer and it arrived after the entree. But it was one of the best ribeye of my life.
What a wonderful night. The food and a drinks were great. The service was great. And the sunset views were great. Will definitely come back again.
cuando se pide entrada como plato de frutas y luego omelete; traen todo junto. Se les pide por favor respetar el orden de los tiempos pero no lo hacen llega todo junto.
The service was really exceptional and attentive. Delicious food and a great overall experience. Crab beignets and New York strip with chimichurri were the highlights.
Everything about our meal was tasty and presented well! Service was superior.
The food and service was amazing. They even brought out a special dessert for my birthday. Great experience!
Surprisingly an wonderful delicious delight. Recommend
Staff is great. Food is typical hotel food. Not good Not bad.
Awesome experience!! This is one of our favorite places.
We wanted a nice meal experience and something different so we went to Sweetfire. We decided to try their buffet style meal, worse decision we could have made. The best thing about the meal was the salad and dessert. All the meal dishes: chicken, ribs, and beef, although supposed to be hot were all ‘cold’. Very disappointing.
Personalized Service - excellent location for Birthday Brunch!
We ate here for dinner, lunch and breakfast. Most of the staff is friendly. Clean. Food good. One of the best lobster tail I have had in a long time. This is a good place to come to.
Dinner was delicious. Portions were huge. The cornbread skillet was a nice touch.
Wrong place for a special occasion. This is the family restaurant at the La Cantera resort. My wife had a heirloom tomato salad which was five slices of tomato and a serving of soft cheese. $14 I think. I had a half chicken with a half a alad. The chicken was $24 for a very small half chicken and the salad was $7. The bill including tip was $60, we were there for 30 minutes because it was just a barrage of kids and noise and not really the right place for a date. The food was good but given what we had, it was overpriced. Overall, a great option for well healed families who are bringing the kids along, otherwise stay clear.
It was something new
Love the atmosphere and laid back seating , delicious food and amazing dessert; first time at this restaurant in the hotel . Pretty awesome will definitely come back .
From the time we ordered to the time we received our food it took over 2 hours. Our server never came to check on us we had to ask another server to bring us our salads and refill our waters and then again for our entrees. Once received our food was cold and over cooked. We asked for the manager and 45 min later she came by our table. Overall it was a negative experience.
There was no fan for outdoor seating, which almost year-round is needed in Texas for heat and flies. Also the food was decent but not great by any stretch.
Dined here for dinner during a visit to La Cantera in celebration on my wife’s birthday. Actually ate breakfast here each day and dinner one night. Dinner was subpar. Breakfast fluctuated in quality, from having Dara one morning with perfect service to two other mornings with decent service. Ordered the same food each day, but it would be slightly different each day. That may be the one big elephant in the room is the consistency of service and food prep. Definitely don’t waste your time doing dinner here, but breakfast was all in all pretty good for the price. My wife compared dinner to Applebee’s.
Everything went off without a hitch. Our waiter was very helpful with recommendations and the food came out in a timely manner.
Perfect ambiance for date night. Beautiful resort and classy esthetic. Service was incredible. Nothing needed improvement. Perfect place!
Work conference. Seamless experience from begging to end.
The gulf coast fish is delicious!! We ate there several times and enjoyed all our meals!
Service and food was excellent as always despite being a group of 11. Salmon and BBQ shrimp and grits were flavorful and delicious. Children stated the cajun risotto was alright, more of a fancy mac and cheese. Deducted one star for all the flies that buzzed around the table constantly even though we were dining indoors.
It took us 2 hours to get our food. They comped the meal, which was nice, but
Beautiful outdoor ambiance, indoors was very loud. Our server was kind and courteous. We had the seafood tower which was excellent but the condiments to complete the tower was lacking.
Moderately priced and good quality. lamb was great as was the snapper
An excellent 4-star hotel continental breakfast with some creative a la carte dishes... not the ultra-wide spread you would expect at a 5-star ultra luxury hotel or some high-end 4-star hotels, but it's not a bad choice for a luxury brunch in a scenic outdoor area. Service is acceptable, but not up to par with the appearance of the rest of the hotel. Food quality is great with some tasty specialties like their breakfast pizza and cheddar biscuits.
Visited on the weekend of the Fourth of July. Had reservations that were made a week earlier but were seated inside at an area that looked like a conference room that had been "converted" to be used as additional seating, although the restaurant was not booked up completely.
It had very little ambience (generic tablecloths thrown over tables that did not appear to be made specifically for dining. My wife and I were initially sat at a table that was probably six feet across by six feet long. So that we would not be completely separated across the super-wide table, we ended up sitting awkwardly directly next to one another. I eventually asked if we could be moved and we sat at a smaller, "normal" sized square table.
There was a BBQ Buffet offered that seemed like a good value - it included a steak option and gulf fish, as well as sides. The food was mostly fine but the steak, the clear entree of the meal, was tough, chewy and incredibly fatty. Not enjoyable at all.
We saw very little of our waitress during the meal, yes we had got the buffet option but it was still a pricey meal and we expected at least a standard amount of attention.
The food on the menu and ambience of the actual restaurant look to be wonderful but unfortunately we had an experience that did not meet our minimum of expectations. For the price we paid, I certainly expected more.
Great food and service!
Was a bit disappointed in the food compared to all of the other food options at La Cantera
We got sat 30 minutes late for our anniversary even though we had reservations and other tables were open
Absolutely our favorite dining experience
The food is always really good. Good value and not as expensive as you would think it would be. They have a new Chef & kitchen staff.
We came for Father’s Day dinner. We were seated outside to a table that was cleaned but still sticky from the cleaner residue. We were them bombarded with flies swirling around us for the next hour. It grew almost impossible to take a bite of food or sip of a drink without almost inhaling one. We were batting them away the entire evening. On top of it, the food was greasy, the burger very tough, and the menu changed to nothing but steak and seafood. We missed the delicious parpadelle dish we used to get and the greater variety of offerings. Overall this was a huge disappointment especially for $115 for two people. Not going to come back for quite some time.
Our waiter was so overwhelmed and told us as much...sadly it was Father's Day for my son-in-law and we were seated on patio (no ceiling fans) flies everywhere...had to wait forever for salads...we ordered main entree yet had boxed to take home. Ruined a great moment/day. I'd come again but not same server...Ever!
Our table was ready right on time. The staff was gracious about moving our reservation forward by 1 hour to allow the kids more time to enjoy the pool.
Jordan our waitress was great, she took care of everything we needed and was courteous and kind.
The buffet was great. The kids enjoyed the waffles and the chef who was making the omelettes is the best.
Overall great experience. Fun, family friendly environment
The main and side courses were excellent. We had steaks that were a good value. You can probably skip desert or try the bourbon bread pudding because we didn't try that.
