The sushi is outstanding. How they do it at this price is hard to understand. Maybe their rent is low? Service is excellent, with a very solicitous host. Only 12 seats, so you must reserve.

Excellent quality and service. Understated place with sole focus on the food experience. Salmon, tuna, crawfish and wagyu in particular were outstanding. Would highly recommend.

What a great experience! Each of the two chefs were dedicated to just 6 of the 12 guests seated at the counter, making it for an even more intimate experience than expected. Each piece served was beautifully made, presented and all were delectable. We ordered a great nigori sake to go with the meal which paired perfectly with the meal. Wait staff was attentive & refilled glasses as needed- we felt well cared for. At the end of the 14 courses, we opted for 3 more pieces - and were able to choose our favorites from the 14. Yummmmm. One prior diner mentioned the lighting being a bit overly bright - I agree, but I do think their follow up point of the lighting allowing for more attention to the chef’s skill and detail may potentially be why. It’s clearly one of the most amazing aspects of the experience. Cannot wait to go back again soon!

Outstanding experience! After coming back from a trip to Japan just a month prior and experiencing amazing sushi I wasn’t sure how it would compare but suffice to say it was amazing and made me feel like I was eating fresh sushi in Japan. Totally recommend!

Such a cool and intimate spot. The quality of the sushi is as good as it gets and the staff is very attentive the entire meal. They change the menu every month so will definitely have to come back. If you’re a fan of omakase you will love this place.

We’ve been going for years except during the pandemic only in 2022 . Their menu has been downsized but it’s way better , easier to maneuver and the selection last night was excellent . We tried their new first course and loved it . Our oldest son went for the first time and was so impressed with their attention to detail and the delicious selection , each so different . It is our #1 omakase though we’ve tried several others in the city at way higher prices .

Been working our way through the Omakase offerings in NYC including Sushi Nakazawa, Sugarfish multiple outings, Sushi by Bou, Bondi UE and more- this experience at Sushi Kaito was fantastic. Service was great. We wanted and asked for an off the menu item - an unfiltered sake. Their offering, something with ‘Snow’ in the name , was just perfect with our meal. The sushi was pristine, fresh and seasoned perfectly. The rice was the perfect temperature/texture and enhanced each piece of delectable freshness. Definitely worth checking it out. It was reasonable and we were more than satisfied. The chef was engaging and all in all a wonderful experience. 6/4/2023

First time back since COVID (3 years). New chefs but same quality. We’ve been to most of NYC’s top Omakase bars. Sushi Kaito is our neighborhood treasure. Always a great experience.

My sister and I love Japanese food and made plans to visit Sushi Kaito after reading the positive review by Infatuation New York. We thoroughly enjoyed the excellent omakase. The service was excellent and the ambience pleasing. We thought too it was well priced for what we received. Thank you for a memorable evening. We will return.

I visited last night for my boyfriends birthday and Sushi Kaito was an overall incredible experience. The fish was so fresh and the craft of it being made was stunning. While we went expecting this kind of food, one of highlights was how knowledgeable and conversational the waitress and host were, they really made our night so special. Thank you Sushi Kaito! We’ll be back
