   First time back since COVID (3 years). New chefs but same quality. We’ve been to most of NYC’s top Omakase bars. Sushi Kaito is our neighborhood treasure. Always a great experience.

   My sister and I love Japanese food and made plans to visit Sushi Kaito after reading the positive review by Infatuation New York. We thoroughly enjoyed the excellent omakase. The service was excellent and the ambience pleasing. We thought too it was well priced for what we received. Thank you for a memorable evening. We will return.

   I visited last night for my boyfriends birthday and Sushi Kaito was an overall incredible experience. The fish was so fresh and the craft of it being made was stunning. While we went expecting this kind of food, one of highlights was how knowledgeable and conversational the waitress and host were, they really made our night so special. Thank you Sushi Kaito!     In this day and age of $300 omakase sushi places, a gem for omakase under $100. No frills but the sushi is delightful and the staff friendly.

    A rare gem. I love it when food is transcendent… when the quality and the talent take it to another level. Kaito manages this while remaining relatively casual. Omakase unplugged, to date myself. I’ll be back very often.

    we arrived and just had to wait a few min for them to prepare our spot. food and service was great :) i got really full at the end and had to have one of the people in my party help finish my portions! went for a bday dinner so i got a matcha cheesecake and ice cream at the end. very fun and special experience

    One of t best omakases in a town full of omakases . How can some charge sooo much and Sushi Saito charge $96 for a 14 course of TOP TOP fish selections ? I just LOVED it. A gem to have a restaurant w this quality in t UWS . Thank you 🙏🏿

    While on the pricey side (though a good value for the quality!), the food at Kaito is in one word outstanding!! There were a few pieces that weren’t 100% to our liking (mackerel can be a tough one and there was one other piece that was too “fishy”), but we could regardless appreciate the incredible attention to detail and the perfectionist approach to the dining experience. I’ve never had such amazing seaweed which was JUST the right level of crispy, and the flavoring of the sushi rice was unparalleled. Each sushi piece was a masterpiece - a delicate combination of flavors which were subtle yet powerful. Our waiter recommended a sake to us that we adored. The environment is intimate - perhaps a little “cold”, but in a true Japanese way understated and unpretentious. Seriously a 5-star experience!
