Randy Musterer, better known to sushi fans by his alias Sushi Randy, is embarking on a venture of foodie proportions. Drawing on American style sushi and Asian fusion influences, Sushi [Confidential] offers a unique dining experience through innovation, education and artistry.

Sushi Randy is bringing modern Japanese cuisine to downtown Campbell CA. He draws upon his training at multiple sushi bars in Northern California, as well as his life experience working in the sport fishing industry off the coast of San Diego.

Sushi [Confidential] design by Dennis Baldwin Interiors evokes the beauty of the Japanese design elements with contemporary ease. The interior will also feature works from local artist Lorraine Lawson and Anthony Trayer to further Sushi [Confidential] sleek feel.

The restaurant was not busy for a Monday afternoon lunch. The bento box I ordered was long in coming and arrived barely warm with the tempura’s coating cold and unappealing. The teriyaki chicken was over sauced, and hardly lukewarm when served, same with the rice. Our server was nice, but not very attentive and left our dirty plates in front of us for the entire time we were there, even though they passed by several times without stopping to inquire if we were done or needed anything. I will not return-

I wanted to impress some work colleagues from out of town so took them to my favorite sushi spot. As usual the food, service and overall experience was fantastic. The chefs were able to accommodate a picky eater as well as veggie options along with the great sushi roll options that I always go for. Everyone enjoyed it, can’t wait to come back!

We heard great things about this restaurant so my family was excited to eat here. We ordered the Pork Bao Buns as our appetizer and they were delicious. The pickled veggies had just enough acid to cut the fat from the rich pork. We had the Chicken Katsu entree and sushi rolls which were all delicious and in good portions. We were impressed even by their house green tea. It was freshly steeped with green tea leaves and brown rice. We had a great experience here and it was a bonus that they also partnered with my son's school so that partial proceeds will go back to his school. We definitely plan to go here again.

We love it here but it takes about twenty minutes after you’re seated to get any sort of service. We always sit waiting for anyone to come around and at least take a drink order. Great food. Friendly staff. Just an obscene wait time once seated
