In the 1940’s, Cube McGee saw a paradise unlike anywhere else in the world and decided to build a community around it. He shaped Seagrove Beach into the vibrant, soulful place it is today. He was also a local celebrity, with his pet deer named Bambi. They could be seen each morning on the beach,playing in the surf. So, to pay homage to Cube, we decided to keep the legend and the soul of 30-A alive by naming our latest addition to the Hartley Restaurant Group, Surfing Deer—a place where folks can dine, create memories and enjoy the beauty of our beach.

Come on in and get the freshest seafood on 30A along with many other innovative dishes from everyone’s favorite Chef, Greggory Smith.

We have a variety of options for your private party. We have a Private Gathering Room that seats up to 50 guests. This room has individual sound capability as well as a 70" flat screen for sports, videos, power points, etc. We also have Google Chromecast available for guests to cast videos, pictures, and other media directly from their phone to the TV. Also, we seat 84 in our inside dining room and up to 100 in our outdoor area. We can accommodate from small parties in our Private Gathering Room all the way up to a full venue buyout based on the date of your event.

Great anniversary celebration for my parents. I noted it on the reservation and they brought a piece of cake with congratulations written on the plate without any additional request. Great service and delicious food. We loved it.

This is the second time we have tried and it was very very good. Crab cakes were good but had red pepper. Acadians Jambalaya was very good. Desserts are excellent, all of them. Will be back!!!

Terrible service! Realized it was a busy night, but our server passed us repeatedly as we waited on our entrees over 40 minutes. When food was delivered it looked like it had been sitting in the kitchen awhile. Manager offered us dessert at no charge.

Our food was fantastic! We started with the gumbo, which was so rich and thick, delicious! then moved to the entrees. My husband had the special, red snapper topped with a delicious sauce and served with grits. Mine was braised beef served with an incredible risotto, yumm! Our congratulations to the chef and staff, they are doing a great job.

If only the front of the house could keep up with the back! Have been here a number of times, and unfortunately they are consistent..... the amazing efforts of the kitchen simply can not overcome the incredibly bad service. While the pecan crusted grouper and seafood acadiana are sublime, that's where the good times end. Reservations mean very little to the management, as we've had to wait 15-30 minutes before being shown to our (reserved) table just about every time we've been and the wait staff is either ambivalent or under trained, as they simply don't seem to care.
