Superior Grill is one of our favorite dining spots. Food is wonderful, Atmosphere is Great and the Waite Staff are such hardworkers and we greatly appreciate their hard work especially being short staffed.
With high hopes we went for the first time. The hostess did not ask for our vaccination proof-a definite no-no in New Orleans and many of the staff did not wear masks. Our server though wearing one used it below her nose which continued even after my admonition. The food is typical American homogenized Mexican and was not particularly special though the nachos were delicious. We were placed on the indoor patio which seemed to attract a number of crying babies, so the indoors seemed attractive but didn't serve as our destination.
The food was great, fiancé said the best enchiladas he’s ever had! Also, frozen drinks are FUEGO
Been here many times and we kept coming back. This time, the food was cold and the service was slow. Will reconsider next time.
Awesome food and service
Beautiful neighborhood and excellent food and drinks
It was very good but the service was as a little slow.
As always a great meal, drinks and service. We frequent the one in Baton Rouge also on government street, also great! We’ve been going there for 20 plus years.
New Year’s Eve! It was great! Everyone was so kind and got us in and out!
My kids love this cuisine so we were excited to try. It was pretty good. The salsa is a bit too tomato-paste tasting. My kids enjoyed their food. The server was having what appeared to be a rough day, which happens. But we had to ask a few times for drink refills. Not a huge big deal, but we felt like we were bothering him by wanting more than one glass of water.
Very good TexMex food, but a little pricey. $75 for a dinner for two with one appetizer and no drinks. Portions were ample, service was fast.
Not great for vegetarians, which is surpri
Micah was outstanding. We had one of the better lunches there.
The manager helped make our Christmas Eve/Birthday celebration special with birthday soppapillas topped with a sparkler! Great food, great setting, great service. A favorite meal tradition!
Food was not authentic Mexican.
Not spicy at all! Blend no taste.
Too much cheese and flavor was missing.
Even mix drink was like lemonade!
The price is Ala Carte!
The only thing they did not charge was water!
Set next too a family celebrating Birthday but after a while that got too much!
Kiki was absolutely great!!! Her personality, attentiveness and service was outstanding!
Beats being stuck at an airport that had run out of food!
Great food and service was awesome. It is upbeat so we did have to talk loudly but such a fun place.
One of our favorite places to visit every time we visit New Orleans. We absolutely love it here
What a gem - St Charles Ave.- authentic Mexican and fantastic margheritas - one is enough as very large and potent - I will be back next time in New Orleans - 6 of us visited and all really liked the atmosphere, food and service was spot on - Thumbs up!!
Looked out the window and there were 2 horses with cowboys trotting down the street - not something you see everyday in NOLA lol
Parking was tough
The food was awesome the service was great but we had a super loud crowd next to us which made our dinner less enjoyable. Other than that it was great!
Awesome tortilla soup and steak and chicken fajitas.
Eat before 3 pm to enjoy lunch portions.
Never fails. One of our favs for sure
Fantastic as always.
The food was excellent. Service was a little slow, not because of our server, but, more in the kitchen. We attribute that more to Covid and the challenge of getting good people than a bad service standard.
Menu and drinks are a little higher than most mexican restaurants but the quality of food makes it understandable.
I always go to Superior Grill for happy hour. We arrived 20 minutes before 6. It was slow and dead in there, our server Sara passed us up several times until
She finally came and took drink order. When she came back I inquired if she had charged us happy hour specials…she didn’t! Jokingly I said wow, guess I will deduct from your tip.
We ordered a guac, queso, and ceviche app, la Tampiquena as our entree. It was not sizzling when it came out! Dead skillet, was served!!! I worked in a Tex Mex restaurant for almost 10 years as a busser, server, and runner. I also worked in kitchen placing food on tray to run, and would have never sent a skillet of fajitas dead like that with no sizzle and if I was a server I wouldn’t have ran it out to any table like that! Sara was nice , but nope she doesn’t pull that move on charging for drinks as reg price when the table was there way before happy hour ending. It was soooo slow, no music and also noticed another table did get a sizzling fajita plate. I still tipped her $18 on a ticket of $110. I was disappointed I brought my date here and the experience was not all that like I made it known. Step it up Sara.
Good food, excellent service and priced moderately. We were there during a Sunday football game and it was a great way to spend an afternoon.
Fun Mexican place
The Queso Roberto was unbelievable. I had the Taco Salad and the Black Bean soup which were both excellent. My wife had the Superior Platter and loved it. Service was exceptional!
It was a pleasant experience. Everything came out quick, fresh, and hot.
Great place to meet friends for lunch. Food was great. Waitress very helpful and did not rush us. Overall, an enjoyable lunch!
Food was good. Service was ok. Drinks were good. We sat at the front of the restaurant so not a lot of action
A get together with friends
Restaurant is beautiful, and service was perfect. Some of the food items needed improvement: queso was too thin, rack of ribs ($31) was overcooked (= very little meat left on the bone). And, what Mexican restaurant worth its salt doesn’t have a super hot hot sauce – even if it’s just the habanero bottled version?
Very delicious!! Vaccination card required at the door, and tables well spaced apart. Great service!!
always a great meal with great service. Fun with wonderful margarita's
Superior Grill is our favorite tex mex restaurant in the city. They have a great menu and the best margaritas!!!
