i made the reservation for my son and daughter in law after dining with you several times.
my son has fatal allergies. i shared them, confirmed them twice, but yet he was not accommodated- just lettuce for a salad!
i was one of the first people to make this rese for valentines day/ requested outside. it was not honored.
Outstanding experience !
Beautiful place delicious food great service
It was a set Valentines Day menu and the surf and turf sounded great. It came out before we were done with our 1st 2 courses. the “turf” was a 4oz filet that was closer to medium well than medium rare and the “surf” was 3 over cooked medium size shrimp. It came with a waterlogged broccoli rab that was bitter as can be. I have been going there for years and this was by far the worst it has been. Each of the surf n turfs was $75 each and that did not include the whole meal. The other courses were additional. Total dining experience was almost $250 and my wife had 2 glasses of wine and I had ginger ale. Way over priced for very plain over cooked food. Maybe the Hallmark holidays are not the time to go. It was not by any stretch of the imagination busy, quite to opposite actually. Maybe now I know why.
I came to Sundy s house on a week day night, looking for a special place for my wedding anniversary. I wanted a beautiful outdoor setting , quiet , I love the fact that table are spaced out and you get privacy . The garden is gorgeous and we had a very friendly knowledgeable waiter . Now about the food, I was very disappointed. Nothing amazing about it, it was pretty dull, the kind of thing you could make yourself at home but at high price! Not much choices for vegetarians and nothing exciting about it. Desserts were pretty good and more fine...
I think they should really work on their menu culinary experience.
The place is absolutely fabulous. The service was excelente. Wine list was short but had a choice price wise which is highly unusual. The two meat dishes were apparently great. I had the fish and it was very dry. Had an uninspired Caesar salad as a starter, as was dessert.
Would go back for drinks at the bar.
2 of the 5 meals (both meat) were undercooked. Were ordered medium, came out rare to medium rare. Had to be sent back. One meal came out barely warm. Been here several times before and never had a similar problem.
#1 Special occasion destination restaurant in Delray and not really much more expensive than medicore chain places downtown Delray. Besides the food being great, so nice to be served by Bridgett a real kind, personable and professional waitress. Celebrated my 65th birthday there....
First time there. The place is beautiful like being in a botanical garden with trees with twinkling lights, lovely walking bridges. We loved that the tables are in private nooks within the garden with lovely gazebos for dining. The food was delicious and service excellent. I highly recommend sitting outside. This was a Birthday dinner and we will definitely return again
Amazing as always! Service, food, vibe is alway on point.
This was a wonderful experience for brunch! The food was delicious - from crab legs to honey truffle chicken to delectable desserts! The waitress was also very nice, but it took a bit of time to be seated, despite having a reservation. Also, valet parking was $7 even though the parking lot was right across the street. Still, I would definitely return!
Hidden gem tucked away off Atlantic Ave in downtown Delray. This a great Brunch spot for a special occasion. If you are lucky enough to be seated out in the gardens it is truly special. Service was great! They were very attentive to keep drinks filled and clear away used plates. Decent seafood offerings along w your classic breakfast brunch choices. There is also heavier meat fare if you’re into that. We will definitely be back!!
Service was so fantastic. Ask for Kenny. Iconic Florida Sunday....or Sundy....brunch. Great bang for the buck.
I have been coming to Sundy house to celebrate my birthday for the past 11 years. The Sunday Brunch has been constantly consistent on every level. To have unlimited oysters, crab legs, shrimp, carved turkey, beef, salmon, egg station,Champagne, bloody Mary’s,I could go on ..... I have never been disappointed. It’s worth every single penny. You won’t find a more beautiful dining experience in Delray with tropical gardens, gazebos, it’s just a delight to go there.
The wait staff is pretty spectacular too!
Wedding apparently most Saturdays. Don’t go there.
Lovely setting and good food!
Great ambiance and nice private seating. The food was sadly only ok. Two of our party of five selected the evening special pesto encrusted branzino and were very disappointed. There was almost no pesto flavor present. The other members of our party ordered chicken, scallops and swordfish which were prepared well but were not memorable. Will give them another try because the setting and ambiance are so unique - hopefully the food will improve.
Ran out of ribs by 12:45. Prime rib all fat
Celebrated my parents 55th wedding anniversary and the most perfect spot for a special occasion!
Always special. The mimosas keep coming...the food’s always superior...the service impeccable. Great way to spend a Sunday midday brunch.
Brunch with friends I was visiting.
This is our favorite place for Sunday Brunch. The atmosphere is amazing, we love the historic house and the gardens are a hidden gem. I definitely recommend sitting outside, there are several private gazebos that are so romantic with views overlooking the pond and garden. It is also fun to see the wildlife that lives in this little oasis, we enjoyed the company of a softshell turtle during our brunch.
We absolutely LOVE going to Sundy House for special occasions! It was our anniversary and in the other part of the restaurant was a wedding reception! Amazing!
I would have preferred if when I made the res they would have told me that there was a wedding that same night. At first the music was nice while the party ate but then when we got our food they were dancing the hora and it was loud and disruptive. It spoiled the beautiful ambiance. If I knew about the wedding I would have either sat inside or came during the week. The food was ok for some. Not enough seasoning. The cioppino was very good.
The fig salad and ciioppino was cooked to perfection. The flavor of the broth was superb, however, the service was lacking. My friends plate should not have been removed while I was still eating. I mentioned that it was my friends birthday and it is a nice gesture for the restaurant to acknowledge. however, bringing over a plate with one strawberry and a heaping spoonful of whipped cream with a candle was pathetic. Certainly unacceptable in a restaurant of this caliber.
Dining outside in their beautifully landscaped garden in the many nooks and crannies is a most pleasurable experience. Unfortunately there was a wedding going on at the same time and at times the music was overwhelming. It did finally subside into background music and our meal was very enjoyable.
Previously I had only been to their fabulous brunch. With my sister in town it was time to try dinner. They had a pork belly appetizer to die for, crispy top with tender succulent meat. My sister raved about her perfect tenderloin and my diver scallops were so rich and filling. Tad too much garlic in my spinach side but it was wonderful. You can't beat the gardens.
Amazing place for Saturday Breskfast or Brunch. Great dollar value, the best aambiance in Delray Beach. The food is excellent including starterss to share of french toast and potato pancakes with smoked salmon. As a main couree we had an ahi tuna bowl and shrimp with girts and both were superb.
Mimosa....for our anniversary!
Excellent on saturday a la carte!
We will come back for dinner!
It was a rainy evening so had a lovely table inside. The staff suggested that we open the large window, which we totally enjoyed as it felt like we were outside. Everything was great, as usual. This is my favorite place to eat in the area. It has everything: great food, service, ambience. The only mishap was one of our party accidentally dropping a cane into the pond outside. The staff was wonderful and said they would retrieve it the next day when it was light.
i like Sundy house..been there many times and it never disappoints...from the hostess to the waiters they look after us...then there is the food...last night i had the Lamb which was very good and my partner had the red snapper...she said it was the best she has ever had...the choice of wine was very large and the one we had was very good....a wonderful place to dine
I’m partial because my wife and I got married here back in 2012. Most recently we came back for our anniversary on 1/29/19 and were blown away. The host and our server greeted us by saying Happy Anniversary and towards the end of the meal they brought us two glasses of champagne with strawberries. Be sure to take some time after your meal to go through a stroll. What used to be the pool in 2012 has now been converted to a pond and it’s such a spectacularly out of place secluded jungle to have so close to the hustle and bustle of downtown Delray.
Between the tasting we had for our wedding 7 years ago and a wedding we went to at the end of 2018 and all the times we’ve eaten there I can honestly say it doesn’t matter what you order, it’ll be amazing.
This place never ceases to amaze me! Love it!!
We love the Sundy House brunch and come every year at least once (or more). This past Sunday, we have a couple of observations: the oysters were a disappointment compared to years past -- small, no taste and dry. The dessert table was lack in variety.... we missed the key lime desserts in addition to the other goodies. We will be back in February and hopefully the brunch will be back to normal.
Awesome Sunday Brunch!
We were SO disappointed. Could not hear or understand our waiter due to noise and his heavy accent accent. Food was not good. Breakfast potatoes were dry. Cobb Salad was not as described on menu (different lettuce, cherry tomatoes instead of heirloom tomatoes, and it did not arrive with salad dressing or chicken). I've wanted to take my Mom to The Sundy House for years and finally went for my birthday. What a disappointment.
Great service and ambiance, delicious.
Food, service, and atmosphere were excellent, but this BIZARRE thing happened... When we checked in for a 6:00 reservation, the hostess informed us that we would be seated at 6:00. I looked at my watch and it was 5:58. Our party moved to the side and began whispering about how weird that interaction was. After I whispered, "I guess rules are rules," the hostess, who had apparently been listening in, blurted out, "Yes, rules ARE rules." She then seated us.
Service was terrible. My order of duck was minuscule and nothing that was on the menu was on the plate.
An annual tradition requested by every member of our family. My kids love the unlimited (selected) drinks and unlimited buffet of every imaginable variety from raw oysters to Mac and cheese. VERY conducive to family conversations and that is Priceless
