   Service was horrible! Made for a very disappointing 4th of July. The food is always very good. Whenever we are in the Keys we always make it a point to go there. After this visit, never again. We drove an hour each way from Marathon Key. My husband, I and our 8 year old had 7:30 reservations and it was far from busy. The crowd did pickup, but still not any busier than you would expect from any good resteraunt. Finally, after many inquiries about our food we received our meal about 9:10. Fireworks were to start at 10, so knowing that, we ordered desert at 9:35. After the fireworks display we had to again Had to remind the waiter we had desert waiting for us someplace. To drop $120 we would expect a lot better service.

   Sunsets are beautiful. Thought the food was ok ... Inside seating noisy. Good for a local spot. Certainly nothing fancy. Probably would not go back. It depends on what you are looking for, I suppose.

   We had a very good meal and the service was fantastic, not to mention the amazing view. It was a bit hot to sit outside when we visited, so we sat by the window. We tried the Blackened Snapper with Mango salsa and lobster bisque, both were excellent. My only criticism was I could have used less mango salsa, but it's easy enough to knock some off. After dinner, the server arranged for us to get a bucket of fish scraps to feed the tarpon. This was fun for us as well as some of the folks sitting on the back deck. As we finished, we watched the sun set. Beautiful.

   Great for sunsets, lots of boats out in the bay and pulling right up to the dock outside the restaurant. We could hear music from the two adjacent restaurants, which was nice but a little disjoint at times.

   They have an awful wine list and the server (when we could find him) could offer no information about any of the wines and made no effort to discover any. The food was good, it's a beach restaurant so it was casual and a bit noisy, but they had some good music.

    You have to try this restaurant. The view is awesome and the ambiance is superb. Must try thr conch fritters. The fried calamari was a little gummy but the flavor was excelent. To summarize, I will definitely go back to the Sundowner many more times.
